Loved the location of the hotel - sobastopol metro station is literally fifty steps from the front door which links easily with all major stations. It is also next to a main street that features many restaurants, bars and great shopping. Follow the street directly down to the river and all the sights - louvre, royal palace, notre-dame. The hotel is in an old building across from a quiet park - ask for a room with a balcony at the front for a great view of old buildings - great for relaxing with a Bordeaux after a day around the city. The downfall of the hotel being old is that the walls are paper thin (at least on the 7th floor they were) - could hear everything next door. Ask for a quiet room (maybe it would work). Staff were great, comfortable and clean rooms, Internet worked, very tiny elevator if it's a concern, did not get breakfast so can't comment on that.

We were quite happy with our stay in this hotel which was in the Marais district of Paris and convenient to all the major sites. The halls were a bit cramped-feeling (as was the elevator); however, the room was fine and had a nice view of the street and surrounding area. Breakfast was good but a bit pricey. Would stay here again.

Less than 1 block from the metro and within walking distance of many good dining and shopping choices, Hotel Original is a perfect home base for a stay in Paris. The staff is very helpful, cheerfully explaining the best metro routes to requested destinations or recommending fabulous dining options. The thematically decorated rooms are one-of-a-kind and make for a more interesting stay. The free coffee/tea in the common area along with the honor bar round out the list of perks at this hotel. Will definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel, great location - close to many things. We mostly walked places except when our feet hurt, then we took a cab. When we arrive via the RER from the airport, we were a bit confused how to get out/to our hotel as there was quite a bit of construction but thanks to GPS on our phone and the help of a nearby hotel, we found it! Room was a bit small but just fine for what we needed. Loved that there was a mini kitchen as we went to the supermarket and bought some breakfast items. Made it easy to eat something quick and be on our way for the day! The hotel is close to many cafes and restaurants too! I would stay here again.

"Humble hotel in a Cute, Convenient Locale: Marais"
Practic Hotel is a practical hotel stay for a solo or couple traveler. My room was just a tiny bit bigger than my queen size bed (but I heard that's how it is in Paris), with a tiny bathroom attached (hot water, check!). It is overall quite small, but as mentioned, practical for everything you need. Definitely not luxury status but it was clean and quiet enough for me. Conveniently located in the heart of Marais, within steps to the Metro, minutes walk to restaurants, bars, shopping area. A few blocks away to the Jewish Quarter with the best falafels. Very safe area for female traveler to walk alone at night. I would highly recommend it!

The hotel is simple but has all the essentials.. The beds are confortable enough, there's a nice TV and wi-fi. It is not a boutique hotel but has all you need for a nice stay. The staff is very helpful and sweet. But the greatest asset is the location. Really central, close to the metro station, walking distance to most places and right by the charming Marais.
I also chose to have breakfast that was also quite good.

Marais - Pompidou - Notre Dame de Paris, Paris Hotel Guide
A beguiling mix of art and architecture, the revitalised Beaubourg and Marais districts are home to Paris’ Jewish community and a thriving gay scene. Attractions include the Pompidou Centre, Place des Vosges (Paris’ oldest square), the Picasso museum, Notre-Dame cathedral and bijou Ile-St-Louis. Stalls selling birds, flowers and books line the banks of the Seine. Village St-Paul is good for antique-hunting. The area is best explored on foot.
