Quiet locationPosted Sep 1, 2014
This is an older hotel and was a pleasant surprise. On the plus side, it was spotlessly clean, each room has a fridge and microwave, it sits among beautiful hills, and it has a pool. The negatives are that the walls are thin so we could hear the kids next door and there are no restaurants nearby. The owner was nice. Many advantages with room for kids to play. Price attractive. Excellent breakfast at the Dove Cove Inn down the road several miles.

Nice location in Cape BretonPosted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Location, space, and facilities. Uncrowded nature at the door.
Cons: Property needs work. Room phone never worked, computer worked for awhile, pool smelled fishy, and some painting due.
Location: Cheaper, and roomier than along the coast. A sunset an easy drive away. Trails on the property.
Nice valley especially in the morning mist. Good launching point for Chetticamp, and the Cabot Trail. Occupied the suite which lots of room, and well setup Co-op store around the corner to stock the kitchen.

Unique location for the start on Cabot TrailPosted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: We thought it had some upgrading which was quite noticible.Clean and quite presentable .
Cons: It was just fine.even without a view of the river
Location: We chose to start the cabot trail from the hotel, were not dsippointed with anything i the area,Went to beach nearby Biiiiiig campfire.lots of people.
Booked online and had no idea what to expect, and were pleasantly surprised with the room and its amenities.Owner made some recommendations for a restaraunt in the area, which served quality food, good view, and evcellent service. We did not have a riverview, but were with tthe cleanliness and a comfortable bed.

Close enough to golf resort.Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Clean. Hard wood floors. No carpet. Serviceable. Close enough to golf resort.
Cons: For the priced payed there should have been cable. Only four stations to pick from. The manager/front desk person was not at all friendly.
Clean room and within travel distance to golf resort about 20 minutes drive. Room over priced however. Staff person not at all friendly. No cable and no complementary breakfast.

Drove a ways for breakfast. Blinds let sun shinePosted Jul 3, 2014
Cons: use better blinds or curtains. Offer a breakfast.
I was awoken with the sun shining on my face early everyday. The blinds were useless.

/the room was allright...while it was clean, it had a musty odor. As far as location went for where I needed to go it was a long drive back & forth...although if doing the Cabot Trail it was a very good location.Would I stay again...don't think so

Awesome StayPosted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: The accommodation was average but very comfortable, on a large groomed property. The price for the night was extremely good and more than reasonable
Cons: Nothing...... it was a great place to stay.
Location: Good quiet location. Beautiful beaches within a short driving distance from the motel. Great photographic scenery.
This is a private motel that we stayed at during our sight seeing tour of Cape Breton Nova Scotia. We were served by the owner/manager who was very friendly and helpful. Nice clean property in a quiet rural setting. We did have to drive about 7 Km to another small community to have supper which was no big deal as the country is beautiful. The manager directed us to that area and recommended a nice beach to watch the sunset. (Awesome).

Location: We stayed here for the Cabot Trail Relay and it is an excellent location for the overnight legs. Also a good location for fishing the lower Margaree.
Clean, basic accommodations with an excellent location in the Margaree Valley. Owner/manager very pleasant and helpful.

Lovely sceneryPosted Oct 23, 2013
Pros: Really liked the scenery in the area.
Cons: The room smelled a little strongly of cleaning products.
Location: We stayed there to go to the Red Shoe Inn in Mabou. It was a little far for this, but it was worth it, since it was affordable.
Plenty of dog-friendly hotels actually end up charging an unposted (on expedia) fee when you get there ($10-20). Not here. Nice place, friendly staff. Planning on going back next summer for a guided fishing trip.
