Fantastic beachfront postion. Abbey Beach is suitable for both couples and familes with 3 pools, bar and resturant and children's play areas. Lovely, clean and well presented apartments.

“Apartment location NOT GOOD”

Abbey Beach Resort is well worth a visit , our stay was in a one bed two room appartment , which was very compfortable ,.. Unfortunatley for us , the location of the apartment was NOT GOOD, We were given an Apartment over looking a new develpoment , so lots of building rubish evrywhere , and also we seemed to be along side a generater or pump which droned on & on and only switched off every half hour for about five minutes,.. We do understand that when the Restort is fully booked out, someone has to stay in these apartments , but it did look like there were plenty of apartments around & overlooking the pool that did not appear to be not in use,.. So what was the reason for locating us in this bad location , I can only presume it must have had something to with keeping the room maintencae in one erea .. Also we thought , as we had booked and paid for our accomodation well in advance, we did not think we would be given what appeared to be, the worst location at the Resort ,.. Cheer, Pauline

“Generally pretty good”

The hotel was generally very good, with easy access to the beach, plenty of parking and decent sized rooms. However we specifically requested a quiet room and they located us immediately next door to the squash court which was really noisy. There are 2 small outdoor pools, and an indoor pool, so it was nice to be able to choose the one with fewer squealing children.

“Wasn't impressed”

Our name was in the hotel system backwards, thankfully had our confirmation printed. (previous nights hotel didn't seem to have that problem) Directions to our room given by the front desk staff seemed to be direct & easy to follow 'pull in around the side, use swipe key on double glass door' - however once around in the parking area we discovered there was more than 1 glass door (no double glass door) in frustration we stopped & ask a groundsman for help. Privacy lock didn't appear to work. Fastest/easiest way to the car & room was to use the fire escape stairs. Cold tap in bath was luke warm, didn't expect to sweat in a spa! Quiet hotel though.

bars closed at 9.30pm, room service ended at 9.30pm, hotel supposedly full. Food quite Expensive.

“Not impressed”

The room set up is awkward everything is set at an angle. The balconies are small and gloomy with birds roosting on the railing. The bedroom door would not close completely making it difficult to get to one side of the bed. In the bathroom the hair dryer (mount type) was not mounted to the wall and two of the three doors did not have handles to pull door open. The kitchen was very basically equipped and when I spilled a pickled jar it took 3 requests and 4 hours before the front desk contacted someone for a clean up. Did not eat in the restaurant, menu ridiculously expensive.
