A place to relax and get you into island timePosted Mar 12, 2013
Pros: The pool is QUIET!!!!! No booming music and loud drunks. Very relaxing and pleasant
Location: Great location but not a great beach resort.. Great pools and water views of multimillion $ yachts that is reserved and quiet.
Great hotel. A bit isolated but fine if you know that. Nice views great pool(s). Rooms are great as well. Food is ok drinks are really good.

Low key and lovelyPosted Feb 25, 2013
Pros: The hotel suite and the grounds. The staff were so friendly and kept the place immaculate.
Cons: Constantly bargaining for transportation. It is expensive to get anywhere from the bay, whether by land or by sea.
Location: Fun to watch the "yacht set" the sail boats and catamarans coming and going out of the bay. However, no sunset or strolls on white sandy, beaches.
Our experience at the hotel was generally very good. The hotel suites are lovely-very spacious. The kitchen is well appointed for full-on cooking. The bed was very comfortable. The balcony large with beautiful views. The staff are friendly and prompt in their response to most requests. The hotel breakfast was a simple yet ample fare. The restaurant at the bar was actually one of our favorite meals all week. The food around the bay at the restaurants was moderate to good yet somewhat over priced. We tired of it after a week. We found it difficult to move about without a car. The roads are steep outside the bay and it is upwards of USD $45 to even think about getting in a car to so much as go 10 minutes down the road to an IGA grocery store. It would be a tough place to take kids. We went snorkeling through the hotel. Paid at the desk and dutifully showed up at the appointed time and place to catch a boat the next morning. There were many people waiting for day-trips and no one seemly knowing what was going on. People were shouting to "just get on a boat-any boat!" Kind of crazy, We waited over an hour then saw a dive boat heading out of the harbor, so we hailed it down and jumped on and went snorkeling with them. Never really sure if they were the company we were supposed to go with, but we had a good day on the water non-the-less. The overall experience was positive. The hotel is truly lovely.
Lush location with incredible viewsPosted Feb 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
I traveled as a single (mostly couples and a few families) (there were only 4 singles the week I was there) and the staff was so accommodating and took extra care that I had a great vacation. And I did.

Great ResortPosted Feb 19, 2013
Beautiful Location in a small bay which has a marina. Rooms are situtated in several buildings on hillside. Entry to most rooms involves lots of stairs Not wheelchair friendly Would visit again

Great hotel for relaxation!Posted Feb 16, 2013
Hotel was great, but service is a bit slow. More on Caribbean time than East Coast time. Not much nightlife at the hotel, but its in a gorgeous setting and very relaxing

Tranquil restful spotPosted Feb 10, 2013
Pros: Warm friendly staff
Cons: Furniture and fittings bit tired - but this is a small gripe only.
Location: Stunning picturesque bay with lots to do and see.
We stayed at Discovery in Jan- Feb 2013 and really enjoyed the hotel. We asked for a quiet room and got it (but then occupancy rates were very low). Its best asset is its fantastic professional, friendly, supportive staff albeit some of the furniture is tired. It’s situated on a mangrove swamp, so pack mozzie repellent (citronella spray provided in the rooms) & fly spray (screens on the rooms are ripped in places). We were told the menu at the Hurricane Hole and Boudreau Restaurant changes regularly but we saw no evidence of it doing so. Service at the café was slow – but the food at all these was good and tasty. Excellent swimming pools and gardens. Good choice of eateries nearby if you want to go out. Would we choose this hotel again? Without hesitation!

The hotel was very good in a lovely setting but we needed to hire a car get to other parts of the island to do what we wanted to do i.e. bird watching. The hotel has just been sold so it may change under the new owners.
Great hotel, need a carPosted Feb 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed at the Marigot for 8 days and it is in a beautiful location. That beautiful location comes with a price of being a little isolated from other attractions on St. Lucia. We had rented a car, so we were able to travel freely. I can just see how this would be good information to have before you book this hotel. If you want a nice, spacious, clean room with beautiful views this is hotel will provide that. The breakfast that was included in our booking was very good each morning. Fresh fruit, European style breakfast buffet, and made to order eggs with lots of options.

Luxury Hotel in need of upgradePosted Jan 28, 2013
Pros: Bedroom and Food in the Hurricane Bar.
Cons: Beach and Pool areas
Location: Remote location even for St Lucia.
The bedrooms are excellent and the food is first class but the location is remote, there is liitle view of the Bay frm the bedrooms and the Beach is a tiny strip of land with very poor facilities.
