Weekend retreat

Pros: Quiet, comfortable and dog friendly
Cons: The pool area. If possible have a full roof so bugs and other stuff doesn't land in the pool.
Location: Close to Target
I called ahead to the hotel and inquiring whether I could check in early. I was told that I can so I headed there with my family. I knew that there was a swimming pool on site and I knew my niece and nephew would love that. My complaint about the pool is that it contained some dead bugs floating in it but I guess that's understandable since the pool was situated in a partial covered area. I really liked the overall feel of the hotel and the room that I was in. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. The best part of the hotel was that it was dog friendly!

Extended Stay America, San Rafael

I arrived at 10:30pm. No one was at the front check in. There was a service phone that I used. I know I was on this phone for at least 25 minutes before the gentleman came from the back of the building where he had been smoking. At this time it didn't take long. Got to the room the air conditioning or heat didn't work. He did move us. The mattress on the beds were so hard. Definitely not pillow top. Barely slept. Would never stay there again

Clean room but hotel smelled like cigerettes.

I was looking forward to using the gym and hot tub. The gym was basically non-existant, 1 old spin bike and some contraption that that resembled a cheap home combo thing stuffed in the corner that didn't even look completely assembled. It was not a gym. The one time I went out to use the hot tub their were people smoking right next to it, no thanks. That brings me to next issue, There seemed to be smokers everywhere! Outside of every exit. I requested a non smoking room, it was but it shared the same floor as smoking rooms. As soon as the doors to the elevator lobby of the floor my room was on opened it just reeked!

The pool/Jacuzzi area is non-smoking, for this reason there are no ashtrays available and the same applies to all hallways. Unfortunately, some guests do not observe these rules. In response to your feedback, we will be more watchful to make sure this policy is thoroughly enforced. We will definitely check with our staff and will schedule the necessary staff meetings. The general manager, Luis, was exceptional. He did everything possible to make us feel at home and we did feel welcome. The service was great; the location was good for our work locations and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to this area.

Was clean. That's it. Not impressed.

The staff were friendly. The hotel was in an industrial area without any services on site. No restaurants nearby or in the hotel. No shuttle service to local restaurants. No vending machines. Most minimal crummy rolls and coffee for breakfast food service. Not even cream for coffee, just powdered cream packets. Our car was being serviced and we were dropped off there by the car dealership. We were stuck. We ended up walking at least a mile each way to the Target. The only store around to buy some food. The microwave wobbled on its uneven base while cooking frozen dinners. No pots, pans or cookware. The bed had strap-on mattress pad that didn't hold in place. Sheets were not deep pocket so untucked. Over the bed was a "smoke alarm-sprinkler" that flashed green lights continuously. That became completely disturbing once the lights went out and throughout the night. I was awakened multiple times from the light flashes. The TV was the smallest flatscreen we've ever seen. It would normally be the size used in a bathroom or kitchen. All In all, it was clearly not worth the $140.00 charge for the night.

Our grab-and-go breakfast is designed to get you out the door on time, for this reason our rooms have a fully equipped kitchen which lets you eat whenever and whatever you are in the mood for, saving you money in the bargain. Dishes, utensils, pots and pans are removed from our rooms after guests check-out so they can be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized. These items are available at the front desk upon request, I apologize if you were not informed this upon check-in. In response to your feedback, I will make sure our front desk staff is clearly communicating our hotel amenities and policies. Additionally, we will be conducting an investigation into the bed sheet/mattress situation, as well as the fire alarm's flashing lights. Again, we thank you for your comments, as they will help us provide better service to our guests. I do hope that you will return to our hotel, or any other Extended Stay Hotels location in the future.

Have realistic expectations

Pros: Accessible location to SF, Berkeley and Marin. Free wifi
Cons: Dishes, Pool towels, equipment, TV's,
We needed to stay near Larkspur and Courtyard (with no breakfast) was a rip off. The dishes are NOT "Non stick" - so cooking was a disaster. Shower pressure is low, luke warm water and drains were slow. Outtake fan in bathrooms were filthy and in need of a super clean. Gym equipment is mostly broken. But worst part - is that the Expedia website (booking screen) says you can have a sleeper sofa and roll aways or cribs - but hotel says you cannot. TV is TINY and does NOT have In Room Movies - something you expect for an "Extended Stay".

Didn't get what i expected for 135.00

Location: No much! i had to drive to the City.
This room was advertised as a suit with kitchen, the hotel didn't even have a wine opener, i asked for glasses and the front disk with a very heavy Spanish accent replied "no glasses only plastic glasses" terrible service and accommodation. also the elevator were very dirty and smelled like a chemistry terrible smoke smell.

Maybe I should have sought out a better hotel

Pros: not much its decent if your looking for a cheap quick place to stay that's it please don't book if your looking for scenes or comfort
Cons: a lot breakfast new beds better TVS less static would be nice more channels more products
Location: golden gate bridge san Francisco the beach etc
Front of the building great location is ok I would have loved to have a view with the san Rafael bridge but instead we were placed in front of a highway noise wise you could hear the highway but it was 50/50 depends on the person... the beds made noise a lot everytime anyone moved it was pretty loud spring noises... annoying at night. the bathroom was decent could have had more products. there was a fridge a stove top and a microwave but no dishes to use and no one at the front ever mentioned they could loan you some... so kinda a waste of space... breakfast was not what your thinking no coffe was available muffins in a bag oatmeal in a bag no milk granola bars on the go or fruit if your lucky... definetly lost me on this just showed how cheap they were.
