Wonderful Romantic Holiday close to SF.Posted May 28, 2013
Pros: The rooms and garden were very beautiful. I liked the room on the second story with a balcony. Kind of like a tree house.
Location: Very quiet on the edge of San Rafael. Kind of hidden gem to relax and enjoy the peace and relaxed atmosphere.
This bed and breakfast was a beautiful experience. My darling girlfriend totally loved the weekend vacation. It was a very romantic holiday that I would do again. The gardens were as as attractive as the photos on the website. It was much fun to sit out on the porch in the evening and enjoy the views.

Quiet getaway in sleepy development of suburban SFPosted Jun 29, 2012
Excellent quiet location with easy access to all Bay Area activities. Welcoming staff and excellent breakfast. Great value for the Bay Area. Highly recommended.

Absolutely love this inn! Definitely will return!Posted Nov 1, 2011
Location: Panama Hotel which is close by. Lovely rooms, great food (breakfast, lunch & dinner & Sunday brunch). Jazz nights.
This was our third stay and every time we have stayed there it's been perfect. My husband loves the homemade breakfast prepared by the owners.

Not good if you have allergies to dust and moldPosted Oct 25, 2011
Location: Our day trip to Sonoma and the wineries was worthwhile and our lunch at the "girl and the fig" was a highlight. Reservations are necessary. Very impressed with the food and service. The Panama Hotel was a delightful surprise in San Rafael. The food was wonderful and the decor interesting.
We were disappointed in the musty smell that met us at the front door though the downstairs decor was decorated beautifully. The "old" smell only got worse in our room which was terrible for my sinuses. I think the antique furniture, linens, and carpeting...especially the carpeting...were the origin of this problem. We managed by keeping the door to the terrace and the window opened as much as possible. The breakfasts were good and jim was pleasant and helpful in providing directions and suggestions for our day in Sonoma. If you don't have any problems with dust and mustiness you would find the Inn charming. The breakfast was served in a pretty sunroom and was enhanced by the classical music. Didn't seem as musty in the sunroom. We also had a problem with the toilet running during the night. We were never asked if we enjoyed our stay. We have been to a couple of excellent B&B's that far surpassed this Inn so we were disappointed in this one.
