Quaint lodge right outside hustle & bustle of SFPosted Aug 19, 2014
We flew into SFO late morn and spent a crazy day downtown ending with a fantastic dinner. Our next few days would be spent in wine country but we knew we needed a place to lay our heads for the evening. I called during the day and informed the lodge that we'd be a very late arrival. The front desk was extremely helpful, providing us with the room # and leaving the key under the mat for us. We were pleased with the vintage style lodge, cleanly and charming. The bed was comfortable....we were asleep within 20 minutes of arriving. Awoke the following morning to a beautiful sunrise and we were pleasantly surprised by the grounds. Highly recommend the Marin Lodge. Can't beat the convenience and price.

Great place just north of San Francisco.Posted Aug 18, 2014
The Marin Lodge is located in a residential neighborhood with easy access to the freeway. Room was clean and comfortable. Drove over the Golden Gate Bridge ($7.00) in to Peir 39 in about 25 minutes. No toll going north. Drove to Petaluma in 30 minutes.

Comfortable hotel for a stop overPosted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly.
Cons: The street noise was a bit loud and the room we stayed in got car headlights shined into the window when people entered.
Location: Great place to stay when moving on your way to the Napa wine country.
For the price it is a good quaint hotel that is worth the value. The hotel staff was very friendly and nice. The rooms are very clean, modern and comfortable. The only thing that was a little difficult to get used to was the street noise. I recommend it to people on their way to the winery area.

After spending a complete day at the Marin Fair, it was nice to return to quiet, clean, and nicely furnished room for the night. I still had more to see in San Francisco (Fillmore Jazz Festival) and it was nice to be completely rested for this event. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when I need a place in San Rafael. Thank you to the owner, good job.

Clean big rooms in a neighborhoodPosted Jun 14, 2014
Pros: I believe this is a family run business. They seemed to care about your stay. Recommeded dining and entertainment options.
Cons: For the location, this was a more than fair price for a weekend night stay
Took Sausalito ferry to San Francisco (15 minute drive). Ate in downtown San Rafael, with lots of options, but good luck parking. Went to Muir Woods, (highly recommend), but be careful driving.
