“Not Impressed at all”
The place was dirty. Parking lot was littered with small piles of garbage. The outside corridors were littered with debris too. Mattress was worn to the point that I rolled into the middle of the bed. But, the big thing was that when I checked in I was told of the breakfast in the morning. I asked what was served and they told me "full" breakfasts, including eggs. Since I'm on a high protein diet I thought was great and I made sure I participated. But when I arrived for breakfast there were no eggs. Not one. Just carbohydrates, which I must limit. I won't go back to this hotel.
“Good Value”
Probably the best deal in Marin. Surprisingly quiet establishment (for its proximity to the freeway), with hills boasting oaks, deer, and a variety of birds. An attractive pool and hot tub, as well as a water feature to provide soothing white noise. Friendly, competent staff. I did have to request my refrigerator and microwave multiple times before it appeared. Clean, simple room with nice sheets and pillow cases. The website did provide very old information. I was glad I called ahead of time to confirm some details.
“Very nice accommodations!”
The office staff were extremely helpful in making every effort to upgrade our room when what we needed at the time wasn't available!
“Safe, clean, friendly, quiet, cheap”
This was my first stay and it was just what I wanted (safe, clean, quiet, friendly) cheaply done. It is an older, 2-story layout surrounding a large pool and spa with a nice grassy area that is child-safe. The first floor rooms open out onto the grassy area, which is perfect for relaxing outside without going into the gated pool area (I read while my young daughter played with some other children). Each time we returned to the room, I propped open the front & sliding back doors to allow the breeze to flow through and that removed the common smell found in older hotels after just a couple minutes. There was a small refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, t.v. and free in-room wi-fi connection, everything I needed to make our 3-night stay very comfortable. There are plenty of shopping centers, eateries and coffee shops close by to make a home-away-from-home stay convenient and relatively inexpensive. We will return to this location when we want to be north of San Francisco, but with easy access to the city as needed. Note: I'd suggest asking for a room away from the Housekeeping storage areas if you are a late sleeper, one morning they were very noisy, the other two, I didn't even hear them.
“Good, deal, very pleasant environment.”
This is the second time I have stayed here. It is a good value, and the management maintains a nice feel to the place. It is not fancy, but the pool and grounds are very nice, and it is very convenient to Petaluma. I would return.
