Basic, old school, but clean and comfortablePosted Dec 30, 2014
Beige painted kitchen, painted concrete block walls - it is an old school motel - but lovely owners, immaculately clean, quiet, and a nice little pool. Also very handy to a supermarket and family restaurant/bar (Speights Ale House). Our family unit had two bedrooms (1 queen, 2 singles), better than it was described on Expedia.

This man is in the right job!Posted Sep 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
The gentleman who greeted me at reception, was outstanding. He was so genuine in his welcome and took time to help me with a map and sorting where I was going in the township.I truly got the feeling that nothing would be too much trouble.

Catch up with relativesPosted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: It was very quiet (we had a rear unit) and was handy to places we wanted to visit. Grounds were immaculate. The pool would be very inviting in summer
Cons: Had to get into shower before turning it on and so had a cold shower to start off, otherwise had to turn shower rose to the wall.
Location: Handy to airport and routes to the south and Picton. Most of our time was spent visiting relatives and finding gravestones so did not look for things
Had wonderful time. Found gravestones for both of my grandparents, and great grandparents, plus some other relatives. Visited Kaikoura for the first time and watched the seals at the Seal colony north of Kaikoura. Also visited Picton and was amazed how much the area had grown and the number of very nice looking boats moored at the marina. Saw the boat 'Echo" looking a little sad for wear but it brought back memories of when I was a girl and could see the masts of the 'Echo' through the trees as it went up the river not far from where my grandparents lived.
