Very Basic but friendly staff and cleanPosted Jun 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
A very basic hotel but clean, stayed here for one night only as close to where I needed to be the following day. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Very clean and well managedPosted May 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
We needed a hotel somewhat near the airport, but also accessible to Athens. This hotel is a 10 minute walk from the metro station that took us right to The museums and the Acropolis. It was also fairly near to the airport without getting into the super-expensive airport hotels. The hotel was very clean and well run. The only thing to be aware of is that there is not much to do in neighborhood surrounding the hotel. But for us, that was an advantage since it was quiet and residential.

Avoid!Posted Mar 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
My stay at Civitel was simply the worst experience ever! I arrived at the hotel, walked in the room and despite having asked for a non smoking one, it stunk of smoke! The smoke was coming from another room (through the air con or the balcony, not sure) but still, awful experience as you walk in a hotel room! I left my case in the room and visited the toilet, as you do after a long trip! Now, that was another experience that I was not expecting from a hotel that cost me 90EUR a night! Nearly ALL the floor tiles were cracked, flush not working, shower area was full of mould around the corners and the toilet seat broken! As it was too late, I went to bed not having the energy to complain. THE SECOND day, I was away all day. When I came back, I asked for the manager, who was not available and promised to get back to me. A guy called me from reception, after I explained the situation, he told me in a very cheeky way that I should have spoken to him from the very first day when I walked in the room! As if this is what you want to do after a long journey. What is more, during breakfast, one of the serving ladies started making rude comments about me ordering some coffee not available on the menu (available at the hotel though at an extra price) not knowing I can speak Greek! To CUT THIS SHORT, uncomfortable beds, smelly room, dirty bathroom, rude staff. Full credit to the maint. guy and a reception girl (Vasiliki), genuinely upset about my experience. Pics will be posted on advisor

good hotel for a night sleep if you had dinnerPosted Mar 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
a nice hotel, nice people, but not in a very active part of the city. Food was not good and a very limited menu (like a bar menu). about 10 min walk from a trainstation and nice Mall.

Nice Pleasant place to stayPosted Oct 4, 2012
This Hotel was very nice and clean and the hotel staff was great! We especially enjoyed the good breakfast. There was a large variety of different things to choose from and everything tasted really good. The breakfast room was large and comfortable and had a decent view. The hotel grounds are kept very nicely. We didn't use the pool but it sure looked inviting! Even though this hotel is in a neighborhood it was quiet (until the nearby church bells started ringing, but it didn't last long). There is a super market just a short walk (2 blocks approximately). There is also an ATM machine at the supermarket, and bus stop very close to the entrance to the hotel. We didn't need to be in the tourist areas so it served our needs quite well. The room was plenty big enough for our needs and we would definately consider staying there again if we ever go back to Athens.

The hotel was a great location for our needs. The hotel staff were very helpful and professional and the buffet breakfast was very varied and extensive.

Clean and friendlyPosted Nov 19, 2011
Friendly and helpful hotel staff. Clean and functional hotel in a dull neighbourhood, but if you're working nearby it's good enough. Very good breakfast, though the dining room is a bit soulless. Only ate in the hotel one evening and that was disappointing. Boring neighbourhood with few restaurants. Head over to the Mall for cheap eats.

Civitel Attik Athens - Unnecessarily expensivePosted Jul 18, 2011 on Hotels.com
Breakfast was average – didn’t have freshly baked bread once in 6 days. Chose the specific hotel mainly because of the pool, which was closed and could not be used. Nobody informed us beforehand and the reception acted as if we should not have known anyway. There are a few very nice restaurants close to the hotel but the easiest way to leave the neighborhood is by taxi. Most of the staff was very polite and the rooms very spacious. Unfortunately, however, I will avoid going there in the future.
