"Home from home but a traditional Marrakesh Riad"
One of the smoothest trips we have had from being met at the airport and driven to hotel through to checking in, receiving a welcome traditional Mint tea and shown to our room. Paolo and his staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay. We felt very at home and would happily have stayed longer if we could. Everything was just as we had seen and read and we would recommend this Riad for anyone to stay in.

"Brilliant Riad in a quiet part of town!"
We arrived at Riad Aliya the morning after we were due to arrive and we greeted by one of the lovely members of staff who checked us in and made us a lovely Moroccan breakfast. The riad is only about a 10 - 15 minute walk away from Jamaa el Fnaa square and a 5 minute walk from the Saadian Tombs. For us it felt like a real sanctuary from the chaos that is Marrakech and so could not recommend it enough. We were only there for 3 nights and had a wonderful time including a day tour to the Atlas mountains and waterfalls. I would recommend a day trip to escape the madness of the city.

"Hotel Adama"
We had a lovely stay at the Adama Resort hotel. The bus shuttle to and from the airport was excellent, as was the daily shuttle bus runs to and from the square. Lasson the bus driver was very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for him. The hotel staff were also very friendly, in particular Mohammad in the restaurant. We ate in the restaurant on our first and last night and we were very happy with the food and service. Buffet breakfast was great, a good selection of breads, pastries, cakes, yogurt, meat and cheese as well as cooked items. The only negative from the whole stay was that we would have liked to have seen drinking water available each morning at breakfast, it was only available on the first morning, the tea/ coffee girl could have been more on the ball. Overall we were delighted with our choice of hotel. We would recommend this hotel to others.

"Exceeded our expectations"
What a find. Probably shouldn't be writing this because I would like this hotel to remain the best kept secret that it is. We are a family of four (two girls aged 6 and 3). We wanted a warm and sunny holiday for the Easter school break. We looked at all the usual destinations - where all the families go at Easter - and found them to be expensive, booked up and with terrible flight times. Abandoning the idea of a beach, I suggested we take the girls somewhere 'different' so that they could have a 'cultural experience' instead. Marrakech was a perfect fit: warm, sunny, very interesting, less than half the price of places like Tenerife, short flight from UK etc. I booked a hotel that looked decent and had a pool. It didn't look like it was in an ideal location for exploring the city but I thought let's just go for it. When we arrived we were amazed at how wonderful this hotel was and how it suited our needs perfectly. What an amazing find. We had the best holiday, far better than we could have hoped for. We went for 7 nights and thought that would be more than enough for Marrakech - it wasn't long enough. We will go back next year for longer.

"what a great experience!!"
That was a great experience to stay in Riad. When we first read review of this hotel, the review was not good. so,we are a little anxious to go there. however, that was much much nicer than I expected! hotel is romantic, moroccan style, we had a dinner in the hotel. food was 19E per person for 3 course dinner which is expensive in town. but it is safe to stay in hotel at night and so quiet here. hotel prepared our private dinner at garden where is so nice. after the dinner, we had Hamamu bath in hotel. the was another quite wonderful experience we will never forget it! She did scrub body and mud pack ( I guess? ) anyway our body became a soooo smooth! we went back room with bathrobe after Hamamu and sleep! We spent most of our time in this hotel. that was so safe, nice and relax!! Everyone were so kind, friendly, nice!! always smiling! you know this hotel is not 5star, that why we only paid this amount. what do you expect more than that! This is Riad which is different from hotel. We enjoyed moroccan style very much Thank you very much !

"Peaceful oasis of calm in the streets of Marrakech"
We had read about the bustling and intimidating streets of Marrakech so with a sense of nervous trepidation we climbed out of our taxi in the busting back streets of Medina, the ancient walled city of Marrakech. As Moroccan first-timers we were immediately nervous and suspicious of strangers and we briskly walked down the narrow alley ways to our Riad. When the doors opened we were warmly welcomed and were shown to our room which was a charming and beautiful place. We had a fantastic time in Marrakech and actually contrary to the reports we had read online and in travel guides we found Marrakech to be busting, yes, but friendly, vibrant and enchanting. In our few days in the city we failed miserably at a few bartering encounters and succeeded at a few too. Probably we were generally a few quid down on our exchanges but we entered into the spirit of the whole experience and had an amazing time. The Riad itself was simply enchanting and the staff were helpful and attentive. There was no luxury here, the shower took an age to warm up and the Islamic prayers booming from the local Mosque at 5 am may annoy visitors used to 5 star resorts but if you want to experience Marrakech from the heart of the old city and soak up the North African charm then book this Riad. I would whole heartedly recommend a stay here.
