“not the best”
it's not really a good 5 star hotel, frankly it deserves 4 stars, I met a big problem in the room especially with an air conditioner that makes a lot of noise is unacceptable i can not even slep for breakfast is good there a lot of variation on. cleanliness as perfect. not far from jemaa el Fna
“A peaceful oasis in busy Marrakech”
The hotel is in a peaceful residential area, a few minutes walk from a stop for the Red "Hop on Hop Off" bus, and also close to some cafes. The gardens and pool are beautiful, the buffet breakfasts and other meals ample and varied. The traditional Moroccan restaurant has live music until 11:00 PM, or longer if there is a wedding, and this was quite audible in our room. There was some confusion over the opening of the Mediterranean Restaurant, probably because early February is not their top season for guests. The staff did their best to feed us well anyway. We got a very good female guide scheduled by the Front Desk, as well as restaurant reservations. The one odd note was that the insides of the bathroom and water closet were very sloppily painted behind the doors--where only guests would see the inferior work!
“Old but comfortable”
The hotel is not so close to the Djem El-Fna but, petit taxis pick you up for 20 DH (don't forget to bargain) without taximeter, or walk for 30 minutes. There is nothing near hotel (market, shop, restaurant) and 5 km from the airport. The breakfast is not so satisfying for eat lovers (there is nothing like sausages, salami, jambon). The spa and indoor pool is extra charge (100 DH per person), The internet is only available at the lobby without any charge. The safe in the room is also extra charge (25 DH per day). But the cleanliness of the room is good and the garden is wonderful.
“Won't be back”
Some employees were very nice, others were not. One woman at the desk wanted to negotiate the price of excursions. Room was big, beds ok, blankets rough. Bathroom's ceiling was falling down and had mildew. I think the new part of the hotel is probably nicer. Pool area is nice, but not enough umbrellas, and you have the daily 'fight for a chaise' ritual to deal with.

Hivernage, Marrakech, Morocco: Near central Marrakech, the Hivernage section of the city is the site where many luxury villas were built during the French protectorate. Also in the area are the Menara Gardens, surrounding a large man-made lake and popular with both locals and visitors. The gardens feature several orchards of palm, olive, and fruit trees and offer an oasis from Morocco's desert heat.
