Riad in the Medina...Gem in the rough!Posted Apr 26, 2013
Pros: Hamid is a great resource
Cons: trying to find it after a long day in Jemaa Fna
Location: Access from a narrow sidestreet in Jemaa Fna....Great location for proximity.
The hotel was great. A nice gem in the rough. The staff on hand were great. The standout for us was Hamid..He went above and beyond at every turn. Regularly walking us to out location and making sure we got to the right place and get the right treatment. He really did make the stay here a much better experience.

Good Riad ..with hidden surprisePosted Apr 2, 2013
Pros: Little details like flower and plants, the odours and absolutely the typical maroccan furniture
Cons: The discrepancies between prices from person to person
Location: Good location
Hi Everyone.. Morrocco, in particular Marrakech is worth to go , you will not regret it! The Riad Des Eaux et Spa is a good located place where to stay in the city, very central, exacltly in the heart of Marrakech. It's lovely to stay in, quite and full of nice details. Rooms are nice, very pretty and clean, the Patio when you get in i lovely too and you can have also a relaxing half day in the spa or a dinner coocked by them with fresh ingredients. The people are working there are nice and helpful with you, if you speak french it helps however they will do their best to meet your needs. However pay attention when you book activity/excurison through them as there could be a little suprise outside the door, you might going to find the same package with the same agency for less. Same for the taxi. I had experienced it and didn't feel great! Marrakech is THE place where offers and deals are going on, therefore open your eyes and check with more people in order to understand if you got a good one. Then , even if you have paid more enjoy whatever you will do as it worth to do it!!! ENJOY MARRAKECH !!! Claudia & Nico

Deserves a higher rating!Posted Mar 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Riad is in the heart of the Medina just a few steps from the main plaza. Although they did not have space at their main building they sent us to a sister hotel near by, which was as nice as the original one. We also took advantage of their spa facilities and it was amazing. The service, the facilities and the location should give this hotel a higher rating than the "poor" 1 of 5 it has on your website. Go to Marrakech with an open mind and you'll enjoy the experience. Stay at this place and you'll thank yourself.

Go and stay here, its lovely - but go prepared....Posted Feb 24, 2013
Pros: interior design style, rustic charm - and friendly staff - the hammam and massage was also a great experience
Cons: scary walk through the streets to get back at night - the trips you go on sometimes will include the driver walking you back to the riad, but check!
Location: its a warren of tiny streets, full of dark figures which was too much for us, so we didnt go out to eat at night
Good French will help, you'll manage just if not though You will love this Riad, staff are friendly when you ask anything, but you wont be talked through what will happen next in any situation (should we go to our room, when is check-out, what time is breakfast, can we book airport transfer etc), If you don't mind occasional awkwardness this wont be a problem for you I tried to contact the Riad before we left to ask some of my endless questions (we were 2 girls traveling alone, so were being sensible and being prepared). I got no reply - I called but my french was so poor it was useless! We stayed in a delux room, it was gorgeous (there was more than a little noise through the night, people, fridges dripping taps but this didn't bother me too much personally). We booked 2 trips though the Riad, again we didn't get much info on either of them so was a bit of a lucky dip, but we enjoyed both the Fantasia show + dinner, and a trip to Ouarzazate through the mountains (turned out to be a 12 hour trip!!) both had personal chauffeurs and not being in a big group was nice. We also had a Spa in the Riad which was fantastic a must. Most important thing to note, the Riad has no access by road to it, you're looking at a 10 min walk USUALLY (but not always) guided by a man with a wheelbarrow - YOU WILL NEED TO TIP HIM at least 20dh (this was awkward on our arrival as we had no change) when its dark its really intimidating - you will be OK, but it may not feel like it at the time.

oasis of calmPosted Sep 10, 2012
Pros: Staff, peace and prime location
Excellent staff, peaceful calm surrounding in the middle of the hustle and bustle. We are planning to return soon. Prob good idea to contact the Riad directly to arrange airport pick up as it is a little hard to find. Loved it.

The Riad was lovely and so peaceful considering you were right in the centre of the souks! The staff were ever so friendly and happy to help us out! I would definately recommend the Hammam and Massage through the riad, it was pure luxury and good value for money! I would highly recommend this Riad!

Riad Des Eaux awfull service...AVOID!Posted Jul 8, 2011 on Hotels.com
firstly a look at what the riad claims to offer: "Guestrooms have televisions with satellite channels" - Our room had no TV at all, just an empty shelf with an aerial cable where the TV once stood. "Guestrooms provide wireless Internet access"- There is a very weak WIFI signal from downstairs where the staff stay, but it is not strong enough for all of the rooms to receive, and if they do the signal is so weak you get disconnected every few seconds so its unusable. "complimentary toiletries"- bar of soap and a sachet of shower gell, NO shampoo. "Additional amenities include climate control, air conditioning, and welcome amenities"- Our air conditioning broke during our stay and we were offered a simple desk fan in return. "In addition, amenities available on request include hair dryers and irons/ironing boards"- we decided based on this to save room in our luggage and not bring a hair dryer. We asked for one repeatedly during our stay and were always told "yes, you will definitely get in tomorrow morning" the hair dryer never turned up at any point during our stay and eventually were told they didn't know where it was... Finding the riad is fairly hard, you realy do need to ask a local who will not do it for free :(. its located down a dark side alley which has a strong smell of cat urine. our room looked nice on first walking in, but one of the taps ran constantly during our stay, not even a slow drip but a fairly constant heavy flow. the nice balcony upstairs shown in the photos was rather less comfortable than expected, the majority of the chairs are broken and unless you can get the staff to light candles for you, its in total darkness.... During our stay we were offered massages for a very good price which we decided to go for. however, after the massage they demanded 4 times the amount we thought we were due to pay. it really felt like we had been deliberately deceived into purchasing a product by lieing about the price. we made it clear that we had been shown a far lesser price only to be told that was too bad. in the end a massage we we were expecting to pay about 250 dirams for cost us about 800!!!!! we had further problems when it came time to leave the riad. we were told simply the card machine was broken. we asked how we were expected to pay if the machine was broken and were told flatly "you pay cash" to add insult to injury, we were checking out at 8am to go to the airport so opted to have breakfast at 7am.... at 7.30 am we were still sat at the breakfast table waiting with no sign of any staff.... we went searching and found the staff guy who was meant to do our breakfast still asleep downstairs!!! we woke him up and with 10mins before we were due to check out he half heartedly threw some muffins and coffee and yoghurt on the table without even a word of apology. had they not already stolen all my money by over charging for massages, i still wouldn't have left a tip...

A little oasis paradise amongst the hustle and bustle of MarrakechPosted May 23, 2011
An absolutely wonderful little Riad right in the centre of the Marrakech Medina a two minute walk fro Place Jemaa el Fna. A little hard to find when you first arrive but well worth the search - beautifully decorated in a Thai style with lovely clean bedrooms and a nice terrace on the roof. Breakfast is more than good enough and the service could not be friendlier. Would really recommend this superb Riad to anyone!

Great service! Would def book this hotel again.Posted Apr 4, 2011
In a city as intimidating and confusing to newcomers as Marrakech, a quiet and assuring safe haven to retire to each night is essential. Riad Des Eaux, fulfills this need with flying colours. Not only does the hustle and bustle of vibrant Marrekech become a distant memory, once within the walls of this beautiful Riad, but the quality of service offered by the proprietor Mustafa, really helped to put us at ease. Especially as many local are eager to relieve you of the burden of your wallets at every corner, Mustafa is the go to guy for booking cheap taxis, meals and excursions.Tasks that seemed daunting without his aid. Though we had a little trouble upon arrival, the drains in our room (Cleopatra Zen) smelled somewhat. The problem was quickly solved, and we enjoyed the rest of our stay. The decor of the riad itself creates a tranquil and accommodating atmosphere, with a pleasant roof terrace, and wonderful breakfast, prepared for you at any time you wish in the morning. In short, highly recommended, and we will be booking again next time we visit.
