Gem of a Riad

Posted Jun 6, 2014
Recently spent 5 days in this wonderfully chic little Riad 15 minutes walk from Jamaa el Fna. Nothing was too much trouble, lovely extra touches like mint tea and biscuits on arrival to rose petals on pillows, a real treat! When lounging around while waiting for our departure we were served complimentary coffee and biscuits without even asking. Moustafa, who we mostly dealt with especially made our stay special with exceptional politeness, professionalism and kindness, we were delighted to have met him. All staff were very polite and professional but Moustafa especially endeared himself to us and we hope our paths may cross sometime again in the future. Excellent knowledge of good places to eat etc and organising day trips, would highly recommend this Riad, and make sure to eat there as food is excellent!

Fantastic Riad

We had a 4 day break here and couldn't fault the Riad or the staff everyone was so helpful, the rooms were spotless and the food wonderful. It made our stay special! I would recommend having a massage too! The roof terrace and Jacuzzi are perfect for relaxing after a hectic day sightseeing.

Great hotel

Both myself and my wife thought the hotel was lovely. Very friendly staff and the proprietor Karen was very helpful, with places to see in Marrakech and also organising transfers to and from the hotel to the airport. The hotel was very traditional and our room was a perfect size. Would definitely recommend to anyone, who wants to be a little bit out of the centre. Only a 15 minute taxi drive from the airport. The breakfasts were great too, which were included in the price.

A lovely place to call home while in marrakech

We chose this riad based on others reviews and were not disappointed. We stayed for one week and after the hustle and bustle of long days walking the city, it was a pleasure to return to the riad each night. This riad felt like a home away from home. The main staff of four, Saeed, Mustaffa, Karima and Marijke were terrific, so friendly, helpful and loving. We were sad to leave this beautiful place and our new friends.

Great Riad only 15 mins walk to the main square

Posted Oct 19, 2013
This is a lovely homely riad and a welcome escape from the craziness of the streets of Marrakesh. On arrival we were welcomed with mint tea and traditional sweets. The breakfasts were good. All of the staff at the riad were friendly and helpful and more than happy to organize taxis etc. for us as required. The riad itself is very comfortable with various rooms to relax including the rooftop. We would thoroughly recommend Riad La Porte Rouge if you are travelling to Marrakesh.

Lovely Riad

Posted Feb 26, 2012
Location: A good walk to the square but didn't bother us as we enjoy walking.
Lovely Riad, very comfortable, good breakfast and refreshing hot tub on roof. The only downside was that the evening food could have been cooked fresh. To order a tagine and receive it in half an hour indicatds that the microwave had been in use. The prices of the food was not cheap so we did feel that freshly cooked food would have been better value Apart from that aspect, we would recommend the Raid as a lovely place to stay.
