Oasis away from the chaos

Posted Oct 2, 2014
Marrakech is an unique place which I would recommend everyone visit once in their life. It's a west meets Arab/African type of place, leaning more to the latter. Though it's a site to see, at first you'll feel the chaos that is the medina. Narrow streets with merchants lined on each side, people walking through, scooters and motorized bicycles going by and sometimes even donkey drawn carriages with supplies being transported. Riad Mariana, located only 10 minutes from the city square Jemaa el-Fnaa/Souks, is off a main street, but in a quite neighborhood. We were able to enter the main areas quickly, but also come back to the quiet and serene Riad to get some time off from the bustling streets. Phillipe and company did their best in providing whatever we needed during our stay, as well as getting us connected with others staying in the Riad to go on an excursion to the Atlas Mountains. Overall, we recommend Riad Mariana for your stay in Marrakech, as it was affordable, clean and comfortable.

Well situated, comfortable riad

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: The rooftop terrace and the food
Cons: Nothing
Location: Well situated close to all the action in the Medina, but quiet enough to sleep well at night.
Pre-booked a transfer from the airport, well worth the inflated cost as the driver waited over 2 hours for us due to slow passport control. Despite late night arrival, dinner was waiting for us when we arrived - absolutely delicious, and served on rooftop terrace, one of my favourite meals of the trip. Fluffy bath robes, hot shower water, air conditioning, toiletries in room - all great. Lovely breakfast served on terrace next morning, helpful and courteous staff. Thanks!

Lovely Riad!

Posted Apr 20, 2014
My friend and I really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, peaceful riad. The staff were very helpful and the homemade dinner we had one evening was delicious, the best meal we had in Marrakech. Our room (and the riad as a whole) was very cool, a welcome escape from the midday heat! And, it was only a ten minute walk or so to the main square from the riad. Overall, highly recommended!

Lovely authentic riad in the medina

Posted Jan 5, 2014
We stayed 4 nights at Riad Mariana over new year and had a brilliant time. The riad is very well located just 10 minutes' walk from the main square. Despite this central location it is very quiet and you don't even get woken up by the call to prayer. The staff could not have been more helpful, welcoming or friendly. The room was comfortable with a nice en suite bathroom and there is a great roof terrace where you can have breakfast in the sunshine. Really recommend that you have an evening meal there too - it was delicious. Overall, a great place to stay and very good value.

A Relaxing Haven in the Medina

Posted Oct 21, 2013
Wonderful and peaceful place to relax. The room was spacious, beautiful decor, comfortable bed and huge tub to soak in. The hotel included a quiet space for a true hammam scrub and massage, was excellent. The owner and staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The roof terrace is the perfect spot to escape the traffic of the medina and enjoy an amazing home cooked meal. The location was great- walking distance to the medina, sights, and restaraunts. The price is excellent given the high standards of this riad. I absolutely will go back again.

Not in a nice location.

The bed sheets were never changed, microwave breakfast. Every request we made was greeted with a frown from staff apart from the female staff who were helpful.

You had booked a twin room and a double bedroom wanted - as you can read other reviews we pay much attention to service, linen and towels are changed regularly, must still allow staff to take time to the room. The breakfast consists of only fresh and home-made

Not the 5 star facilities but still very good

Posted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: The staff
Cons: Not much
Location: The main square is 15 minutes walk for entertainment, shopping and foods.
The place is not the 5 stars but still very comfortable. Good air conditioning, extremely courteous staff who understand little English but still strive to make the guests as comfortable as possible. Be prepared to have cold coffee, bread etc for breakfast. Great terrace especially if the weather is not too hot.

Nice riad close to medina

Posted Sep 3, 2013
Cons: souks, medina, restaurants, downtown
Beautiful riad with extremely nice staff, dont consider staying here if you are alone (females) close to medina, but scary area if you are not accompanied by a man

thank you for choosing Riad Mariana and for your kind review what you say for the medina is not often shared by other clients - another place, another culture, to adapt each - best regards - Philippe
