Oasis in the Middle of Marrakech's MedinaPosted Aug 7, 2013
The owner of the Riad was absolutely wonderful! Upon arrival we were presented with mint tea and cookies. Our room was spotless and extremely inviting. Between the pool and the roof top patio (including sun beds) we spent a fabulous afternoon relaxing. We had just completed a two week tour of Morocco and the Riad Utopia Suites and Spa provided the perfect end to a wonderful adventure. It is an easy walk to the main square of the medina where you can enjoy fresh squeezed orange juice and entertainment or lose yourself in the medina for a couple of hours of shopping. However, you may find it difficult to pull yourself away from this delightful oasis once you have arrived.

Nice location, service let them downPosted Jun 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel was very clean, breakfast was a slight let down as it consisted of just bread in different formats, with butter and jam.We had a massage there which was quite expensive and not very good. The rooms were freezing and we were left alone for long periods of time. We were booked in at the same time but had to have the massages after each other so were waiting around a lot. This wasn't commnicated when we booked. We were then charged the incorrect price for it. Nice location and good quality, but the service and the food let them down.

Not for English-only speakersPosted Dec 12, 2012
Pros: air conditioning that worked in the room
Cons: Staff doesn't speak English
Location: not walking distance to Jemaa El-Fna Square in the summer
I had a disappointing stay at Riad Utopia; it's a comfortable place, but I wouldn't return. First, no one on staff speaks much English. (The owner is French) No one could help me find an ATM on my first day and it caused problems again at checkout. It was a giant disappointment for my first stay in Morocco & couldn't ask/receive any help. The list of downsides continued from there, and I only mean to better inform anyone considering a stay. I can speak only for my room, but there was only ONE outlet and it was near the sink - completely unreachable for laptop use. The Wifi signal was very weak and my iPad tablet was always being dropped. The rooms also have no windows and I hated being in the dark using artificial light while in such a sunny city. It is a bit long for a walk to the Jemaa El-Fna Square especially in the heat. I ended up taking taxis more than I thought I would considering I chose a Riad for the location over one of the more "resort-type" hotels outside the city. (And the €28 fee for the hotel airport shuttle is a ripoff.) In my opinion they also used a few underhanded strategies to get more money out of me like adding extra nights' worth of taxes to my bill, bottles of water I never had, and a 5% fee for paying w/ a credit card which is never mentioned online. The last disappointment came after I left when I realized I had left a valuable electronic device in my room (plugged in at the sink) & I contacted the hotel – but they never did locate the item.

Riad Utopia, MarrakeshPosted Feb 17, 2012 on Hotels.com
A very nice clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. Room was comfortable with good hot shower.Lovely sun terrace with great sun beds. Only drawback is it was hard to find. Good location once we found it though as you could walk to all the main areas of interest.

Riad UtopiaPosted Nov 22, 2011 on Hotels.com
A bit disappointed by what is supposed to be a top Riad in Marrakech. The Riad design is nice and modern with a Morrocan touch. However customer service needs some improvement (food quality and choice, customer care...) for this type of hotel.

This hotel is amazing.. Marrakech is such a busy (and sometimes slightly annoying) place, this oases is just what you need after roaming the city! You can stop searching, you have found the best place you could wish for..
