Charming hotel in great location

Pros: Great location, helpful staff and warm and charming building and room. Nice to have a fridge to keep some wine and cheese on hand.
Cons: housekeeping was not the best. we had dirty towels a couple of days.
Location: GREAT location!Two tiny blocks from the train station and walking distance to the port and all the charming neighbourhoods.
We had a lovely experience in this quaint hotel with helpful staff. We had a pretty street view out two giant windows, looking at old buildings, a square with a fountain and a gorgeous old church. We were very close to the train station and subway stops and a ten minute walk from any area we wanted to see. There were also many stores just down the street so we could buy cheap bread, cheese and wine to keep our fridge stocked.

I was not a happy camper

Pros: The location is good, it is near the train station. Easy to get to.
Cons: Your customer service should improve. If a customer has a complaint, just a curt sentence, "I am sorry" is not going to solve the problem.

The reason for my poor review is as follows: the cleaning person accidently threw out my bag of clothes which I had lying on the floor next to my luggage thinking it is garbage. There were three new t-shirts in them and when I discovered the mistake, the hotel checked to see if the bag is in the cellar (it was not) and told me, "sorry about that." No compension was even offered. I could not stay around for the cleaning person to come since I had to catch a train by 9 AM.

Hidden uncleanliness

Pros: -the two of three concierges were very accommodating and friendly -standard room was spacious -close to the train station and metro station -nice view Cons: -uncomfortable bed -there was a strange smell in the bathroom but couldn't find it until I had a look at the toilet cleaner which was covered in brown mould -no shower holder so I had to hold the shower head -drivers constantly beep throughout the night -house keeper didn't speak a word of English -room wasn't cleaned daily -wifi is terrible!!!!!!!

marseille hotel

The hotel overall is modern and clean. However I found the room extremely noisy both with outside noise from the street and noise from other guests. The location of the hotel is suboptimal, its close enough to shops and the Harbour but the area is a bit dodgy. The wifi was terrible if that is one of your concerns, I know I found it very frustrating.

Nice hotel and convenient location but..

Close to public transportation (bus, train, city transport). Felt safe once inside, but neighborhood not great.

Ok location, but not very clean

Located in the centre of Marseille, the hotel has its pluses and minuses. It is close to the shopping area, and quite close to the port. However, my room was not the best. It was quite dirty, small and several things were broken. All things attached to the wall were hanging loose. But perhaps I was just unlucky, because I did manage to see one of the other rooms, which was a bit better.

Second Time Around, Better Than The First

Pros: Everything. Location, professional staff, clean and quiet rooms. Would definitely return a third time.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: A 5 minute walk down the hill from the Central Train/Bus Station. A short bus ride to Aix en Provence. Great shopping and restaurants all nearby.
This was my second stay here, which was better than the first. All reception staff spoke English and were very friendly and helpful. My room was on the street side, with a balcony, but I heard no street noise due to the double pane glass. The bed was super comfy, with extra pillows. The bathroom was large, with lots of towels and toiletries. Complimentary bottled water was also provided. Breakfast offered a variety of foods; breads, cheese, ham, cereals, jams, croissants, yogurts, fresh fruit, juices, coffee and tea. Great that the service continued to noon for the late sleepers, like me. There is a rental bicycle rack in front of the hotel for those who are willing to pedal the hilly streets. Tons of restaurants nearby, from cheap eats to high end. There is a new supermarket, U Express, as you take a right out of the hotel door and walk a short distance. It offers ready made food, fresh fruits, alcohol and anything else you may need.

Good location. Clean, updated rooms!

Pros: - Fridge available in the room - Very nice staff - Updated spacious bathroom
Cons: - Nothing. We definitely got good value for our money.
Location: - Very close to the Train Station (St Charles), the Metro, Old Port, Old Town
We had a very good 1 night stay at St Charles New Hotel. The staff was great, our room was clean, spacious, and has been updated recently.
