Great spot

Posted Sep 22, 2013
Great location, right next to bus stop. Buses have room for luggage and fare is $3. Can easily walk to shops and beach is only 1/2 mile. Room had all we needed except hair dryer. Mattress was great! Manager was very friendly and we were allowed to check in an hour early (but this was not peak season).

First time to martha's vineyard!!

Posted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: The hotel was clean, smelled fresh, and was close to everything.
Cons: I would not change a thing. If you have not been to Martha's Vineyard you should go!! It is so beautiful!!
Location: I stayed in Edgartown, great spot. The beach is beautiful, the town is awesome, lots to do and see. If you like boating, this is it!!!
This was my first time to Martha's Vineyard. I was there for two beautiful, hot days in September 2013. I travelled around the island, it was so beautiful!! My favorite town was Edgartown. The yacht club was a mass of gorgeous boats and people. Edgartown has many 'shops' if you like to brouse and pick up a few things. I would recommend taking a car. I am definitely going back again!!!

Nice location, helpful owner, needs some upkeep

Posted Sep 3, 2013
The Edgartown Lodge has a great location, just steps away from the main bus stop in Edgartown. There were four of us (2 adults, 2 young kids) in one of the suites (1 BR with a queen, plus a pull-out couch). I realize that you pay a premium for staying on Martha's Vineyard, but rates seem excessive for what the hotel delivers. On the plus side, there was a good amount of space. It was nice to have kitchen facilities (even if we only had breakfast and a few lunches at the hotel). The hotel has a great location, close to everything you'd like to do in Edgartown. The owner was friendly and quite helpful with some of our questions. On the negative side, it doesn't look like there's been any money put into the place in years. Everything is shabby and worn. Threadbare towels and blankets (complete with holes). Tired kitchen that's probably 30 years old. Tiny little bathroom sink (with no cabinet or counter). It was a pleasant enough stay but I'd be in no hurry to return.

Perfect location

Posted Aug 16, 2013
Pros: The manager was very nice, but was not around too much. Had phone number to reach her and did come answer questions as soon as we arrived.
Cons: It would be nice if there was a small coffee maker in the room but other than that, everything was fine.
Location: Great central location
My husband and I went away for a few days just to relax. This hotel was in the perfect spot in Martha's Vineyard to get around to the whole island. Was great for someone who had never been here as it was so central. The hotel room was small but very clean and bed comfortable. Town of Edgarville had many nice restaurants. The busstop for the island transportation system was right around the corner.

Quaint, great location

Posted Aug 5, 2013
Pros: Location.
Cons: Hairdryer, esp at $269/night.
The location is great, easy walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants and waterfront. It's a "vintage" kind of place, but comfortable. I was sorry there was no hairdryer. High ceilings, little patio outside. The office only has daytime business hours, so if you need anything after hours, you have to call the offsite manager.

an average/ older hotel on Martha's Vineyard

Posted Jul 9, 2013
Pros: A nice bed, safe, nice simple landscaping.
Cons: Needs new sheets/ towels; maid service needed to clean bathroom more carefully, lock on door needed to be replaced, overpriced except for location.
Location: About 3 blocks from downtown for shops & restaurants; bus was very close by, beach was abt. 4 blocks away.
An older hotel with sheets and towels with holes in them, this hotel was about 3 blocks from downtown. My bathroom wasn't swept during the 3 days that I was there. The outside was nicely landscaped. The manager Maureen was very nice, had suggestions for activities, had many brochures, etc. The price was high for this age/level of hotel; it could charge this amt. only bec. it was on Martha's Vineyard. I probably won't stay there next time I go to M.V. The lock on the door was difficult to lock & unlock.

Nice hotel. Close to restaurants, shops & marina

Pros: Great value vs. alternatives in Edgartown.
Enjoyed my stay very much. Staff accommodated a late arrival and facilitated and early checkout. Location was great for shopping and eating.
