Lovely New England innPosted Jun 5, 2013
Pros: Staff and morning muffins.
Cons: Would like it if there was juice offered with the muffins and coffee.
Location: Excellent. Shopping, restaurants, water all within block.
Expedia is displaying the wrong photo for Kelley House. I almost did not book because of it. Kelley House is a lovely, large building in nice area of Edgartown. Easy to park, walk to restaurants and shopping. Very accomodating, comfortable elegant inn style. No elevators, but accomodated me for first floor room due to knee pain. Had small water view. Lovely. Will definitely return.

Cozy, charming and convenientPosted Jun 2, 2013
Great, convenient location in Edgartown. Cozy lobby with fireplace. Loved the warm cookies and milk every evening. Only not-so-great point was the noise factor on our last night (loud groups outside late into the night, and the walls are not thick, hence the four stars on comfort). Otherwise, a charming and solid place to stay on the Island in a nice neighborhood.

Charming hotel in great location, personal touchesPosted Jun 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
Kelley House is right in the middle of Edgartown - you are steps from everything. It was a charming old mansion with personal touches like muffins in the morning and fresh baked cookies in the evening - awesome! Our ground floor room smelled a little musty and the shower could have used a little extra scrubbing for mildew spots around the top and seams. But the rest of the room was lovely, fluffy duvets, nice furniture, etc. Would definitely stay there again.

Pros: Old world ambience
Cons: cold milk and cookies at 8pm in the evening - why ?

Kelley House very nicePosted May 1, 2013
Pros: I like the Chappy house, it has a lovely set up, a nice deck with a view of the Chappy ferry. Very centrally located.
Cons: The heat in the original room, in the larger part of the hotel.
Location: Terrific and central. Good parking. Easy to get in and get out.
First room was HOT and when I was told there was no air conditioning but they could give me a fan (and by the way, not shut off the heat at all) that wasn't very good. It was 80 degrees in the room and since the heat wouldn't shut off, it was unlikely to get comfortable. I know it's an older hotel but it's not an inexpensive one, and 80 degrees is too hot. It was the young man at the desk who could use some training about how to relate to a guest. Turned out I mentioned this to the hotel up the road, which is part of the same ownership, and I was happily moved to a room in another area where the heat could be regulated. Plus it was closer to my friends who were there too, so it was a good situation. All in all very happy but still surprising reaction from the desk to a guest's concern about the heat being far too high. Have stayed there before and very much miss the young English woman who used to be at the front desk. She was just terrific and did the Kelley House proud.
