Beautiful, relaxing, comfortable retreat

Posted May 6, 2014
Pros: Breakfast is brought to your room every day by Becky and/or Laura. We loved every morning when they arrived with yummy food to start the day.
Cons: Nothing to improve on here. Amazing place to visit and stay a spell.
Location: Cade's Cove was the main reason for this trip. I am a wildlife photographer and enjoyed the park daily.
Just an incredible experience. We stayed in room 332, and it was beautiful. A full kitchen, gas fireplace, floor to ceiling windows with an view of nature. A screened in porch overlooking a babbling brook that has lights to enjoy at night, and a pull out bed for naps or to sleep outside with the sounds of nature. The master bedroom also has floor to ceiling windows with private views and a very comfortable king sized bed. The bathroom has a walk thru shower with a bench and 5 shower heads plus a large jacuzzi tub with 2 windows to enjoy nature while you relax. 3 ceiling fans to help keep air movement and ac/heat for the changing temps. You must eat at Becky's grill which is in a nearby neighborhood. It's right on the way from the retreat to Cade's Cove which is where we went daily for wildlife photography. Sullivan's Downtown is also an amazing restaurant in nearby Marysville.

Perfect Relaxing Couples Get Away!

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Very private and peaceful location. It has the feel of a B&B with the bonus of your own space and cabin. Lots of nice personal touches.
Location: Perfect location about 30 minutes away from Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg. Local shopping and restaurants about 10 minutes away!
BGR provides a unique and wonderful experience. The family running the retreat is so kind and welcoming. We loved our stay there. The daily breakfasts are beyond delicious with generous portions. The location was perfect for getting to the Smoky Mountains and also local restaurants and shops. I would recommend BGR to any couple looking for an "escape" together!

Unique cottages with all conveniences nearby

Posted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: As much privacy or contact as you want in beautiful, contemporary facilities in the middle of nature.
Location: Cades Cove Loop 11 mile drive and the Look River Fire Tower in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
We stayed in guest house 142. It was unlike any other place we've stayed -- mostly glass "walls" yet completely private. And outfitted with everything we needed. And convenient to both the National Park and shopping in Maryville, TN. How nice to have a great breakfast delivered each morning with cheer and an attitude of helpfulness.

The most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in!

Posted Jun 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Honestly, this is by far the best hotel that I have ever stayed in. Bar none. It's a bit out from Maryville (around 15-20 minutes), and some of the surrounding area is sketchy, but from the time you arrive at the front gate until the time that you leave, you're in absolute paradise. For me, it was the true definition of being disconnected...cell phone service was almost nonexistent, and internet is only available at the front office. Each house has a different feel, and ours (332) felt extremely private. And they deliver you breakfast every morning! They'll work around dietary restrictions, and when I told them I just don't like eggs, they accommodated me 100%. I'm not much of a breakfast person, but they may have changed my mind. It was that good! If you're thinking about visiting the Smoky Mountains, you've got to stay here. It's amazing, and it'll be one of the best getaways you'll ever have. Here's an extra tip: once you get there, don't leave! The park is great, but Butterfly Gap is even better.
