An excellent hotel in a poorer part of Mataro

Location: Not far from the centre but in the wrong part of town
A nice hotel in a not so nice area. There were a number of derelict builings in the area and we felt obliged to stump up a fairly expensive fee for the security of the underground garage. Watch out for a very high kerb on entry and exit which could catch the bodywork. Otherwise the hotel was excellent in all respects.

The hotel is not near Barcelona, cost £100 to get there, £80 from airport! Could not wait to go home! Worse trip ever took.

Location: In a location about 1.5KM from the railway station in Matero
Although this hotel is very nice, it is NOT what we were expecting as we had booked this hotel via the Expedia site. We had chosen a area which was in Barcelona City and decided to trust the option which allows Expedia to choose the hotel on your behalf, which is a blind booking, no refunds available. Can you please explain how a drive of 40KM is in the city of Barcelona? So we ended up having to hire a car at the airport at additional cost.

Business Hotell close to freeway and city centre

We choose this hotel for a stopover on our way to the mountains. Professional service, but not very friendly. Complicated parking. Very good breakfast, nice restuarants within walking distance.
