Usha ascot

The resort is very well maintained and pleasant. The only negative we observed was lack of guidance for local sight seeing, train timing etc. in addition there is no Internet connection or cellphone coverage in the resort except BSNL.

Not worth it .. avoid

Posted Feb 28, 2013
Pros: nothing
Cons: luxury
Location: away from main area ... shall have to pay premium for the horse ride
Room was not booked upon my arrival. We were denied A/c although we had paid for it. We had asked for non-veg & this was a veg hotel. We didnt find it worth a 3 star .. no good in cleanliness or perfection expected from a 3 star ... dont degrade 3 star requirement. Having huge property doesnt mean that its a 3 star.

An authentically Indian experience

Posted Feb 24, 2013
We initially felt conspicuous as we were the only non-Indians in the place, but soon came to appreciate being immersed in an authentically Indian environment. And the staff and other guests - like all the Indians we met - were extremely friendly. There was an issue with the water - hot water for a shower was not normally available in the evening. But it may be that this is the gripe of a pampered Westerner who expects hot water to be available all the time, and when we rang reception they readily put the hot water on. The food - very Indian and all vegetarian - was absolutely delicious. Relaxing by the pool wasn't all that relaxing due to the monkeys. But that's Matheran for you.
