Beautiful views

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Location and beach
Cons: Closer to the point break--but that just is unrealistic. They should plant more palm trees
Location: In the heart of Kaanapali Beach--terrific location
Great room at great location. Right next to Whalers Village so those who want to be close to the action but still able to get away it is perfect.

Overall experience

Posted Jul 19, 2014
I was in tower one in room 718 for six nights. The room had a king bed and pullout sofa bed (studio). It was perfect for my two kids and I. The room was recently renovated and was very nice. The view from balcony was beautiful and the kitchen was well stocked with the appropriate utensils. The hotel staff was very accommodating and they ensured the premises were well maintained. I liked the underground garage with elevad near the beach, boardwalk and shopping. I will definitely stay at the Wh/aler again and may ask for the same room, if available.

Maui 2014

We had a wonderful stay at The Whaler. The staff was great and when we did need anything they responded immediately. The hotel is right next door to great shopping at Whalers Village. Good resteraunts are right there within walking distance. Nice beach and snorkeling just up the each.

Nice hotel & Good Location!

Cons: Get rid of those murphy beds!
We stayed here for 5 nights in May. Our room had a partial view of the ocean which was very pretty at sunset. Overall, we enjoyed everything except for the Murphy bed. We had hoped for a queen size bed, but instead we received a murphy bed which was not very comfortable.

Great location but lacking kid friendly pool.

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location is great.
Cons: Need a kid friendly pool.
Upgraded to larger 2 bedroom suite very easily after 2 nights and staff was very accommodating. Resort needs to update pool area to make more kid friendly. 4 foot is the shallow end.

So close to the beach.

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: The location. The Beach access. The staff.
Cons: Basic upgrades to the the rooms.
Location: There is plenty of shopping and restaurants . The beach is small, but awesome; if you don't like it, take a short walk and find another better one.
My wife and I needed a short vacation. We had never been to Maui and so we went sight unseen. We could not have been happier with the location. There was good public transportation and access to areas where the shopping was a little more reasonable. The beach was clean and the beach walk was awesome for getting around to other nearby resorts, at which one could eat, shop, take in a show/luau, etc. The room was comfortable and we spent a lot of time on the patio.

Great location. Can walk to whalers village

Room 713 studio garden view also had partial ocean view!! It was beautiful, clean, had everything we needed and more! The only thing I didn't like was guests had to pay for the long folding beach chairs to lay on the beach..

Hotel was very clean and beautiful grounds.

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: The hotel was very clean, and the location.
Cons: Maybe that entrance could be have had better lighting. It was after 11:00 when we landed and it was very dark at gate.
Location: Hula Grill, Whaler Village, Snorkeling charter boat right at hotel
We stay 7 nights at The Whaler it was beautiful, just what fit our needs. The Hotel was in a perfect area close to everything we wanted.

Lovely views of both the ocean and the mountains...easy walk to lots of bars and nice restaurants..parking is easy and the upscale Whaler Village is next door with plenty of shops and an interesting museum about the history of the whaling industry.
