Clean, cozy and quiet Villa!Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness. Location. Great food at Castaway Cafe (on site).
Cons: Additional staff at the front desk.
Enjoyable stay. Very clean. Great location! Just steps to beautiful beach and awesome snorkeling. Very friendly and helpful staff and concierge, but could have used additional staff at the front desk. Love that the "Beach Walk" takes you to several other Hotels and shopping. Castaway cafe on site has great food.

DisappointedPosted Jun 24, 2015
I did not enjoy the time Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas (Lahaina), during my stay there (14 nights in the end of February 2014). The hotel is not located according to their description/pictures i.e. in small buildings close to the ocean - instead most apartments are close to the road, so there is noise both day & night. The apartment was comfortably big but the interior needs some renovation (dripping shower, broken door to the balcony). The personnel was kind & helpful in general, but my impression was that there was no effort to change my accommodation. Best regards, Jonas

Good experience on MauiPosted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: Rent beach chairs for the week that had attached cooler/storage pockets on the back with carrying straps. 2 pools. No pressure activity presentation
Cons: Can't think of anything!
Location: Beach is on site. Shopping, other beaches in walking distance, free trolley into restaurants. Weekly craft fairs. Snorkeling close by.
Maui is a beautiful island and the Aston Villas helped us truly enjoy it. We upgraded to a Villa from the hotel room and it was worth the additional daily charge. The room had a view of the pool. Our lanai had a table and 4 chairs with room to move around. There is an easily accessed beautiful beach on site. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We had a cleaning problem and they immediately came and rectified the situation. My sister and her husband later went to another larger beach hotel for the remainder of their stay. It was a higher end hotel, but the accommodations at the Aston Maul Kaanapali Villas were more spacious and included a full kitchen, larger bathroom with zero entry shower, larger lanai, and additional seating. Would definitely stay there again!

Relaxing, Enjoyable VacationPosted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: Quiet, Comfortable. Nice beach, great pool, relaxing spa, helpful staff, convenient store,
Cons: More beach chairs/ loungers
Location: We used the shuttle for events (parasailing, sunset cruise) located in Kaanapali. We used the car to get to Lahaina for other restaurants & shopping.
We planned some activities prior to our arrival. We found the Activities Planner at the hotel extremely helpful. Not only do they know the best places/ companies to use, they can get you best prices, too. We love having the kitchen to have coffee /toast/ snacks when we want, so we book at this type of facility. We were on the sixth floor, the elevators were never a problem. The rooms were a little dated but clean & comfortable. The housekeeping staff came every day or you could opt for privacy. We ate at the Castaways Restaurant twice. Dinner portions of fish & chips were huge! We split a lunch & it was perfect. The pool & spa areas were clean with plenty of seating in & out of the sun. There were also plenty of lawn chairs for sunning. The beach was clean. There is an undertow so of course children need an adult with them. The massage at the spa was wonderful! I was a little worried about parking, had read comments that it was a problem. We always found a close spot for our car. The van trip to Hana was great, too.

Nice pool settingPosted Jun 4, 2015
We were upgrading to a villa as we were only suppose to have a room. That was pleasant as it was by the pool. We ventured to the beach but the pool had such a nice setting we spent a bit of time there as well. We were kicked out precisely at 10 pm which was a bit annoying. The room had a good layout and was pleasant. We were there for a short stay so we did not fully take advantage of everything there but we liked what we saw.

Wonderful spotPosted May 30, 2015
Pros: The location, beach and gardens.
Cons: We like it just the way it is.
Location: It's on the west side of Maui. Don't miss the Ocean Acquatic Center, one of the luau's or any of the excellent restaurants in the area-so much to see
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Maui Kaanapli Villas. Look for just these words when driving to the location the first time. The word "Aston" does not appear on the sign. That was a bit confusing at 10pm at night, in the dark, after an 11 hour flight...We were somewhat fuzzy at that point. Otherwise excellent facility, magnificent beach that was not crowded. Very quiet, low-key atmosphere. The staff was wonderful as well and the gardens were breathtaking.

Maui honeymoonPosted May 16, 2015
Very nice place to stay! Would have been nice to have more options for dining as everything shuts down pretty early around here.

Had a good stay.Posted Apr 28, 2015
Pros: Clean room and facility.
Cons: Check in process.
Location: Good location. You can walk to a lot of places. It is a short drive to any place of interest on the western part of Maui.
The check in process was somewhat confusing. We had to wait a good while for an agent to become available. I showed the agent my reservation documentation she looked at her display and said that the room reserved was not available. We were told that we could look at some other rooms that were available and then were told that the room we reserved was available. The agent made keys for 3 rooms. One was the reserved room, another was a room that requires a $25 upgrade and the third required a $45 upgrade. We had some trouble finding the rooms due to the layout of the property. The room we reserved was very small with a smaller patio. The $45 upgrade had an off smell. The $25 upgrade we found to be acceptable and returned to the front desk to take it. To our surprise the other agent had rented the acceptable room while we were making the rounds. It was back to the display for another search. Another $25 upgrade room was located, but it had 2 queen sized beds instead of one king size which we wanted. We were given a key and sent off to find and look at the room. The room was on the second floor of one of the back buildings and was an acceptable room. We went back to the front desk and upgraded to that room. The check in process took a lot of time and caused some frustration. The rooms are efficiency apartments that are fully furnished and equipped for living. Once we got settled we found the room selected to be well furnished, clean and an acceptable location within the complex.
