Hale Kai O KiheiPosted Jan 23, 2014
The condo was dated, but acceptable, in terms of its decor and cleanliness. The view is outstanding and it is located close to stores, restaurants, etc. The only negative was the proximity of homeless people. They tended to hang out on the beach in front of the condo and several loud verbal exchanges that we found a discomforting

If you want to be oceanfront, nothing betterPosted Dec 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Excellent location, directly next to main Kihei shops but still very quiet. 100ft from salty ocean water and directly ocean view. Older building with no elevator and all rooms privately owned by separate owners, so it can be a gamble if you don't know which room is best. That said, the property is immaculately maintained and our suite had it all, all the appliances and cutlery, pots and pans, boogie board, beach towels, tatami mats, etc. We rented 212 and would recommend it. There's a direct line phone next to the communal laundry mat, which can make check in a cinch if you arrive after reg business hours. Spent a lot of time worrying about check in and check out for nothing.

Good location and great ocean views...however the unit is very dated ...carpet full of stains... kitchen counters cover with ants...and very noisy ...you could hear everybody talking when they are in their units and even more so when people is talking outside and during my stay there was work done in the unit next door...so I had drilling and loud noises for the duration of my stay...not so paradise like...

Reasonable rate for such a great locationPosted Nov 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
When I was reading the reviews for these condominiums, I had mixed feelings. Some people were very critical and some people felt it was a lot of value for the money. Who do you believe? I decided to "roll the dice" and made a reservation. Sometimes I get lucky. The location in Kihei was excellent -- about a block off the main drag so you're close to whatever you need but you can't hear traffic. Our balcony (I know it's called a lanai) overlooked manicured grounds and was about 100 feet from the beach -- gorgeous sunsets!! The condo was comfortably furnished along with leisure items like beach chairs, a boogie board, and an ice chest. I felt like I was staying at a friend's condo. Look -- trust me on this -- you can find fancier places, but you're going to spend three times as much as you'll pay for a week here. You're going to get up every day and go out to enjoy everything Maui has to offer. You're not even going to BE at your hotel or condo most of the day -- does it really matter if the expensive resorts have a little nicer landscaping? Not to me. I really enjoyed my stay here and I would stay here again.

If you want to be located in a condo on the beach for a reasonable price this is the place for you. The units are individually owned so the decor varies. We had unit 117. Our Iani was beach front. The ocean was just past a beautiful strip of grass with swaying palms. The sunsets were spectacular. The unit is a little tired, but had everything you could possibly need. Check in is difficult if you arrive on a Sunday or late in the day. We did not receive instructions about late arrivals. Make sure to ask for them if your flight puts you into Maui in the evening or weekends. Check the board opposite the office for details when you arrive. A market is just around the corner and several restaurants are within walking distance. We would definitely return to this property.

Excellent view, quit neighbourhoodPosted Oct 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
Was very pleasantly suprised. Our room had perfect oceanview which basically all rooms have. If you just want to hang back and have a quiet time, this is the place for you. Water very shallow so you have to walk far into it to get your belly wet.

Pros: The view and our little beach out back. It was nice having the option to grill and have food in the refrigerator. Not in a heavy traffic area.
Cons: Air conditioner, decor looked like it could use an update, and a new bed.
Location: beaches galore, not too far away from anything you could want to do.
Condo was very nice. Bed was slightly uncomfortable but not horrible. Air conditioning could use an update. It kept the living room area nice but the bedroom was a little to warm for us.

The place was very quiet and calm. The room was also equipped with utensils, stove, and fridge.
