Nice Place, but some inconveniencesPosted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: View, pool, condo nicely appointed
Cons: Warn us about construction. Fix broken appliances, ensure there is light in the BBQ area so we can cook at night.
Clean, well appointed condo, but the dishwasher leaked and the disposal did not work which plugged the kitchen sink! A unit above us was massively under renovation and the overpowering noises of hammers, saws, and slamming around made mornings miserable. Be warned that not all condos in this complex are equal. Each is owned individually so one time you may get a Hilton and another time you may get an upgraded Motel 6. View is awesome and pool facility is nice. BBQ area is great, but the lights did not work, so we had to use cell phone flashlights to finish cooking...

First condo stayPosted Jul 26, 2014
This was the first time I stayed in a condo, usually I stay in hotels. I loved that the condo felt like a home. The one I stayed in had everything I could possibly need. Of course it is not serviced each day like a hotel, but that was fine. I didn't try any of the tours etc because I already had plans, but there were things on offer to do. The location was great, close enough to everything to visit with a hire car, you do need a hire car staying here. It was also quiet enough just to relax. I would stay here again.

We chose Sugar Beach with no idea what we were getting. We knew the condo was the size we needed and had an ocean view. We were thrilled to find such an amazing condo when we walked in! It met all of our needs perfectly! The location was great, staff was pleasant and helpful, pool, spa and barbeque area were great!! Even the residents and guests were all friendly. Sugar Beach made our 2 week vacation very relaxing! Will come back for sure!!!

Nice room with an AMAZING view!Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: the room, the view, the staff, the pool facilities
Location: It is on the beach and about a 10 minute drive to the area with all the shops and restaurants.
I stayed in room 411 and it was so nice. It truly felt like a home away from home. It was very clean, comfortable, and included everything I needed (even beach chairs and a cooler). I definitely plan to stay in that room again. The hot tub and pool facilities were nice as well. To top it off, the ocean view was AMAZING!!!

Very Comfortable!Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Very roomy with everything you need.
Cons: Hotel staffs need to stay longer in office.
Stayed for 6 nights, very comfortable, with washer/dryer, very roomy. You get a nice size condo with big fridge, nice livingroom, small flat screen, nice kitchen for great price!

Nice hotel close to the beach.Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: Our room is right on the beach ( ocean front).. just a beautiful place to visit but not enough time to cover the whole island. it's quietness
Cons: A big sign outside to indicate where reception is. Chairs for customers to sit while waiting to be pick up by our tour group. hair shampoo, body soap
Location: snorkelling, swimming, walking along the beach ( golden sand)... nice fresh air.
Only one restaurant on site which only sell sandwiches/baked potatoes/nachos and alcohol drink. One need to either take a bus number10 to down town to the restaurants/caffee/pub. Only one ABC shop within walking distance. It's best to walk on the beach ( a bit further) than walking on the main road which is closer. Also there is a farmer market next to the ABC shop, where we bought our fruits ( papaya, banana etc), vegies and home made cake, bread etc. Staffs of the hotel were friendly. Our pick up driver from airport could not find the reception because it was hidden away. There was no chair for customers to sit while waiting to be collected by our tour operator. So we just had to stand around until our tour operator turn up. We meet and talked more local people.

A replacing place to unwind.Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: The full kitchen allowed for us to enjoy breakfast and evening snacks, as well as not having to buy expensive convenience store supplies each night.
Cons: Extended evening pool hours.
Location: Many golf courses are within a 20 minute drive or even closer. It is a central location along the west side of Maui allows you to move around easily.
We were vey happy with the Sugar Beach Resort, it allowed us to escape the hustle and bustle of Honolulu that we were a part of the week before. The full kitchen and in room laundry was great, as well as a living room to relax in. We spent every evening in the pool and hot tub relaxing. The small diner right on location has great food and excellent service.

Affordable, well-equipped condo in great locationPosted May 21, 2014
Pros: Location, equipment, parking, views.
Cons: WiFi, light bulb check before check-in, labels for light switches.
Location: Great central location for easy driving throughout the island, stripmall with fruit stand 1 minute, Kihei 5 minutes.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the condo, which was very affordable for a penthouse unit. Easy check-in and great central location was perfect for access to the entire island, with Kihei just a few minutes away. It was well-equipped and seemed quite clean, with nice touches like spare light bulbs and dish soap, plus some snorkelling and beach equipment tucked into the cupboards. The views are amazing from the top floor balconies, including sunrise over the volcano in the early morning. Although it's a little noisy in a strong wind, it wasn't loud enough to keep us up at night. There was plenty of free parking and a few stores on site, but overall it had quite a low-key relaxed feeling to the facility. We struggled a little to figure out the light switches, compounded by a few light bulbs already being out on our arrival, so we were glad to find spare bulbs had been thoughtfully provided. No WiFi in our unit, but an Ethernet connection & cable was available if we had brought our own router or an Ethernet-equipped computer.
