“Beautiful hotel, Not so beautiful prices!”
The hotel was stunning! Just steps from the pacific ocean. The rooms were VERY nice. We had a lagoon room that looked over the pool and ocean, which we enjoyed alot. The staff wasn't so friendly. They didn't make us feel welcomed at all. We roamed the hotel for 30 minutes just looking for the check in desk and not one employee ever offered any help -=O( You HAVE to valet park and pay per day, which adds up fast! Plus, the hotel charges you to use the activities. I felt snorkeling and paddling should be included in the price. We plan on going back to Maui next December but we won't be staying at the Grande Wailea....We plan on staying somewhere in Lahaina.
“Good Customer Service”
Friendly staff. When checking in, they upgraded our room without asking. Nice hotel however age is showing. They do a good job of keeping it clean though. Awesome pool. Kids loved it and spent the entire day in it. Didn't like the fact that they are now "valet only" parking at $25 a day on top of the $25 a day resort fee. That's a bit much. Only one minor negative experience with staff during our 8 day stay.
“Grand Wailea is Truly Grand!”
This was a return trip for me to this great resort and I wasn't disappointed. It's a wonderful place to relax and be pampered. The food, drinks and poolside service are all excellent. Unfortunately, the hotel is remodeling its wonderful outdoor buffet area so it was closed when we were there in early November, but is expected to reopen soon. The pools and slides are captivating and fun, and having an adult-only pool is an asset that adds to the overall appeal of the resort. I shopped room rates for the Grand Wailea and found the prepaid rates on Expedia to be the best. We would highly recommend this hotel.
“Nice Hotel”
Great hotel. Service was ok this time around. It was pretty crowded due to Thanksgiving weekend. Service staff was ok, not great this time around.
“Planning on going back ASAP =)”
Simply amazing. Pictures can NOT describe how beautiful this resort is.
“False advertisement”
This resort is beautiful, but after a day on the town, we tried going to the pool thinking that the swim up bar would be open and it wasn't. Part of the reason in booking with this resort was the thought of being able to end the evening with a few cocktails in the pool area, but the pool bar was not open. The resort is also excluded. This resort is perfect if you just want to relax and have NO social contact with the city. I would recommend staying in Lahaina. Again, beautiful resort, but if you're single and wanting to party, this is not the resort for you.
“Brenda”
omg we had a wonderful time:) While checking in the lady gaves us a free ocean view upgrade!!! It was breath taking:) Go you will love this place!!!
“Special Honeymoon costs a fortune”
The drive to the property and into the property were all amazing. Surrounding area, fantastic. It is Hawaii after all. Our elevators were close to the front desk and so I didn't request a bellman for our bags, that was my first mistake. I think he would have explained food options, location of things, better. I thought it would be fun to explore. Took us a whole week just to discover everything. The dining options, reservation requirements, and times were a joke. (things you might expect on an all-inclusive property, not one competing for your business) No one bothered to let us know that the main dining area was under full renovation, and then they proceeded to charge me $28 per person for the breakfast buffet that was being held in a conference room. Because we were on our honeymoon, I sucked up the outrageous expenses for food and beverage and didn't complain while we were there. $25 / day charge for things like pool towels, etc, which was well advertised. What wasn't was the additional $25 / day for valet. So plan on an extra $50 / day on top of whatever outrageous cost you pay to stay at this overrated wonderland. The only thing that made this place worthwhile was the customer service at the Bistro and the Botero bars. These people were fantastic and helped us with dinner reservations, etc. off property. The catch seems to be you pay around the same amount to stay at the "Grand"est hotel, but then you pay through the nose to stick around.
“Beautiful landscaping! Peaceful and serene!”
We were constantly saying oh my gosh! Made our anniversary amazing!
“Fun, Luxurious and Great Service”
This was by far one the best hotels I have stayed in. Located in the more laid back Wailea district, it is on a nice calm white sand beach. The service was second to none. The cost was high, but you get what you pay for regarding service and luxury. The spa is a must visit. The hotel is also child friendly, with a pool the little ones will want to spend all day at, complete with numerous water slides, rope swing and the world's only "water elevator for people". Will definitely revisit this hotel in the near future.
