Nice resort, beautiful location!

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: The rooms were amazing! Very spacious, clean, nice beds, large bathrooms, equipped kitchen, amazing beach view.
Cons: The food options were scarce. The market was ok, but would have liked to see more ready made breakfast options and cold sandwiches. Add snack shack
Honua Kai is a very nice resort. Perfect for families. The grounds were well kept, the pool options were nice, and the rooms were amazing. I would have liked to see more food options. Room service only from the market and the choices were few. At a luxury resort and for the price, I expected more. Duke's was ok, but over priced and they didn't deliver room service either. Only 2 choices for delivery: pizza or Chinese. Other than the food options, the resort was beautiful. I liked the location as it was close to Lahaina and Whaler's Village, but still felt a secluded. Beautiful resort and accommodations. Our kids loved the pools. We got late check out and had to pay $175 for an additional 3 hours which I thought was very expensive.

This place is great it has awesome rooms, friendly staff, Dukes resturant on site, plenty of pools and a water slide for the kids, a couple of steps to Kaanapali beach, and right across the street from the grocery store and resturants.

Beautiful spot for hotel right on the beach.

We arrived very late and very tired. I was helped quickly. They upgraded our room without me even asking. Everyone was friendly. I do not have anything to complain about. Thank you for a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay here. The amenities were perfect. Short walk past pool to beach. Grounds are beautifully manicured and clean. Kimmie at consierge desk was great and helped us with all out activities. Room was equipped with kitchen. Highly recommended.

Bad experience

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Cons: The customer service. When I called about the issue noted above, the manager was unhelpful and disrespectful.
Unfortunately I was not pleased with my recent stay at this hotel. I purchased the room through Expedia and as part of the room rate there was a resort fee that included amongst other things, parking and housekeeping/cleaning. After being at this hotel for one day our room was not cleaned. When I called the front desk they told me that their policy is that they only clean rooms every other day and that is what my rate included. I explained to them what my terms stated and they told me that was misleading advertising but that there was nothing they could do for me. I do not want to list the specific price I paid for this hotel but it was several hundred dollars with an additional resort fee on top of that. I expect at a resort of this level that if I paid for something and the hotel advertised in a misleading way, then as the customer something should be done and I shouldn't be left to just pay for something I didn't receive. In addition we called housekeeping on several occasions and it took either extremely long time for them to come or they never came at all. Save your money and stay at one of the other resorts in the central part of the beach.

Beautiful pools, lovely beach.

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: The kids had a blast playing in the different pools. Duke's had great food with a beautiful sunset and ocean view. The beach is beautiful.
Cons: Rent snorkel gear off-site, much cheaper!
Location: Close to Lahaina and the Olivine pools. 3 hours away from Hana so plan accordingly if you want to visit there.
Had a great time. Wear water shoes when swimming in the ocean on the beach--there is hidden corral in spots and the waves are strong. Duke's Restaurant was fantastic! Expensive but great.

Five star condo on the beach

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Very clean, like new, very comfortable condo with amazing pools right on the sands at north Kaanapali. Staff was friendly and low key , especially enjoyed the included valet service. Duke's dining is a big plus. Highly enjoyable and would recommend to friends.

Nice resort on nice beach

Posted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: Friendly people. Duke's is a great restaurant. Aina market is great for groceries, coffee and gelato.
Cons: During spring break, provide more pool chairs and towels. We had to come down at 6 am in the morning to reserve a spot. Needs more restaurants.
Location: Kaanapali beach is beautiful and very swimmable. Lahaina is close by with lots of things to do. Whaler's Village is fun, too.
Good experience. Gorgeous beach but no beach chairs or umbrellas without a fee. No beach food or beverage service. Great swimming and snorkeling. Bring your own gear or rent it off property.
