Nice hotel with very friendly staff.Posted Oct 22, 2014
The beach is not the best. However just down the boardwalk is an awesome beach. They could definitely use another restaurant. Overall it's a beautiful hotel.

Very comfortable and beautiful property.Posted Oct 19, 2014
Great location, beautiful property! The beach is great for kids but not my favorite spot which is ok because part of the fun for me is discovering all the hidden Hawaiian beautiful places. Although it is a huge hotel/condo it never felt crowded either the restaurante or pool. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we loved the Nanna windows which can be fully opened to appreciate the view and the brise when it's not too hot.

Great facility and locationPosted Oct 18, 2014
Loved the layout of the resort and suite. Enjoyed being between Kapalua and Kaanapali/Lahaina. Close to great snorkeling and other activities. Many dining choices and grocery stores in close proximity. The only thing that came up a bit short of expectation was the staff. Not as polished and lacked general customer service that would be congruent with a property like this. Have been to Hawaii many times and this was the only time that the service at a high end resort lacked "aloha".

Great service and complete resort package!Posted Oct 18, 2014
Wonderful resort amenities with the convenience of a fully stocked condominium unit. Full kitchen, blender, toaster, dishes, Potts, pans, utensils.....you can cook gourmet meals right there! Washer and dryer were used every day, absolutely made the trip so easy. Great pools...including a Quiet Pool for adults....beach access directly from the hotel. Total, balanced package for a marvelous vacation experience.

Pleasant escape!Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: The hotel is very clean and conveniently located in Kaanapali near the famous Lahaina "Whaler" district. Spacious suites, balconies & full kitchens.
Cons: Only one restaurant (Dukes) on the grounds, but they are in progress of building another. Lot's of young families, but there is a quiet adult pool.
Location: Great location...conveniently located in Kaanapali near the famous Lahaina "Whaler" district. Lots of great eating and shopping within 15 minutes.
My wife and I escaped for the long weekend to get away from the hustle and bustle of Oahu. This was our first stay at the Honua Kai and it did not disappoint. Check-in time was 4:00pm, but the room was ready at 3:00pm. There is an additional $39.00 grounds fee that you will be charged per day that was not advertised, but expected as is pretty much the norm in Hawaii. The hotel is very clean and spacious. Not much of a beach at the hotel, but there is a lazy river and a couple nice pools with hot tubs. The restaurant, "Dukes" is nice, but extremely busy (be prepared to wait up to an hour) and spend at least $100 for two.

Super Fun ResortPosted Oct 12, 2014
We only checked in for one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer. Master suites on either side of the 2 bedroom condo provided comfort and privacy. It was equipped with a full kitchen and laundry services, cohesive with a longer stay. Would recommend to all my friends!

Maybe my expectations were too high.Posted Oct 5, 2014
Really pretty lobby, beautiful grounds, good massage (but super expensive), nice pools, great beach access, cool that there's a Duke's... those are the positives. The service was only ok, though. We had to pay a daily fee for a crib and pack n play for our children. I feel that should have been included. The dryer was broken in our room and 3-4 different visits were required before it was fixed. There was no room service. The housekeeping only came every other day - overflowing trash by day two when there's a kitchen and two children. Some of the rooms are privately owned and privately rented, so I question the value of booking through the hotel (which we did). You had to rent chairs and umbrellas if you wanted them on the beach. I think that should have been included. I paid extra for mountain view over resort view and basically had a view of the parking lot with mountains in the distance. For a four star resort, I just wasn't impressed.
