Property Amenities
Designed as a private retreat in a tropical setting, the architecture of Hotel Wailea is eye-catching and spirit-lifting. A 3-acre lawn with ocean views provides an ideal setting for events.
On arrival, guests are greeted with chilled hand towels. After check-in, bellmen transfer guests to their rooms via custom-made Jeeps. Approximately one hour following check-in, guest service agents make follow-up calls to guests.
Other notable features of this Maui resort include: a business center; numerous sculptures, vases, and other art objects throughout the buildings and property; fitness facilities; a large swimming pool where guests can take a plunge; and a stream, which begins outside the main building, tumbles over waterfalls, passes under bridges half concealed by lush tropical plantings, and flows through koi ponds while coursing down the resort's property and deepening the silence around it. The stream terminates in a large, lagoon-like koi-and-lily-pad pond, where guests' children enjoy feeding the fish. The hotel also offers free shuttle service to its beach club on Wailea Beach. Exclusive attendant service, complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels are provided.
Guests also have signing privileges at the nearby Grand Wailea (food & beverage, retail purchases, and spa services).
Hotel Wailea is a smoke-free property.

“Overall nice hotel”
As with most reviews read prior to visit, this hotel needs updating and maintenance in some areas but is a wonderful place to stay and affordable.... The panoramic view of the ocean was breathtaking!!!
“Great Location, Great Property, Highly Accomodating Staff.”
A highly accomodating staff, beautiful resort landscaping with nice views makes this jewel of a Hotel a worthwhile find for anyone wanting to stay in the Wialea area.
“Very peaceful!”
Loved the Hotel Wailea! The staff is wonderful, they treat you with warm aloha. The hotel grounds are beautiful and lush, complete with waterfalls, streams and tropical plants. I loved the babbling brook that ran right in front of my lanai. This place was so peaceful and so quiet. The rooms are like apartments, with a separate bedroom w/flat screen TV, a living area with flat screen TV, a dining table, and a small kitchen with a 2 burner stove. I highly recommend this place for couples. The cabanas by the pool are open for anyone to lounge on, (unlike most hotels where there is a steep rental fee for cabanas.) I never saw more than two people at the pool at any time, though. They have a shuttle that takes you down to the Grand Wailea, and they even let me use the shuttle after I checked out. Wonderful place filled with a nice staff!
“Heaven on earth”
Breathtakingly gorgeous property! The entire staff made us feel like family. It was as if they had known us for years. This hotel is a gem in all possible ways. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
“Best Hotel on Maui”
I will keep this brief. Expedia allowed us to have a vacation that should have cost about 5K more than we actually paid. The Hotel Wailea is by far one of the most peaceful, relaxing, and beautiful resorts on the island of Maui. It is private and the perfect setting for a honeymoon, but also is near enough to the best beaches on the Island and wonderful eateries and shopping. We would never have been able to afford this vacation without the package deal that we got through Expedia. For 10 days, we had the time of our lives, and it was worth every single penny that we paid, and all of the ones that we saved too! - Amit N
“A great place to stay in Wailea”
Everything about our stay here was top-notch. The only drawback would be the location (although, we had a great view, being up on the hill). It is at least a 5-min drive to any restaurants; however, the beach wasn't too far. Polo Beach is a great one and it's right at the bottom of the hill from Hotel Wailea. Service was excellent and the pool/spa/fitness center/grounds/rooms were always clean and well-maintained. We would stay here again and recommend it to others!
“Great stay - would definitely go back.”
Great stay - would definitely go back. Very nice hotel in good location. Staff was very friendly and view was amazing.
“great place for the value”
quiet grounds, respectful guests. no children were staying there when we were there, which made it quite serine. it's a sophisticated spot on the top of the hill with grreat views. they are in cahoots with the Grand Wailea Resort which you can go use their cabanas, chaise lounges/umbrellas, waitress service. I do not condone this, but it was easy to use their pool, some of their water slides even though you are not supposed to. we took the SCUBA classes that are near the pool, therefore just explored afterwards with no problem. we loved the fact that we could get the fell of a crazy big ressort with swim-up bar and crowds, but then just go back to our quiet hotel when we were done with the kids & families.
“Hotel Wailea...on the fence???”
First let me say what beautiful place to stay-Wailea is quiet and romantic! Our stay at hotel wailea was no more than a 3 star rating, and they get this rating because of the beautifully kept grounds. If you spend all your time outside, you wont have the chance to be disapointed about the sad condition of the rooms. First off their website is very misleading as to what the rooms actually look like. We called after we had seen the real pictures and we were told the rooms had all been renovated-im not sure what they renovated because our room was 1970's at best. The carpets were stained in a few spots and the hard wood floors were molded in spots-for the most part it was clean but just very old. Our ac was broke the first 2 days, we had to keep bugging the front desk to get maintenence to fix it. At least they allowed us to have a late check out for all the trouble. Thankfully we were not in the room hardly at all. The pool is nice but needs work as well. Giving this hotel a 3 might be a stretch but again the grounds are lovely and the staff was kind like most of the people in Maui. Hotel Wailea is lacking in several small areas the biggest being their room quality too many little things to rate this a 4. Its a 3 at best.
“Relaxing quiet atmosphere”
My mom and I stayed at the Hotel Wailea for a week and could not be happier with our choice in accommodations. We had continental breakfast daily, a clean room, gorgeous views from the lobby and our room, and overall were able to enjoy a peaceful and stress free vacation. The location of the hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of the resorty hotels, but they offer shuttle service to the beach. The pool was relaxing and the staff was fantastic. I would definitely recommend Hotel Wailea.
