Beautiful hotel, nicely kept gardens

Posted Mar 8, 2015
Pros: the garden is awesome, the staff extremely friendly
Cons: the could add a breakfast buffet in the morning
Location: beaches are very close by, swimming and snorkeling is great in some places. Hiking on top of Haleakala is an experience of a lifetime
the hotel is not situated at the beach, but they drive you down in a Mercedes. It has a great pool and wonderful restaurant: Capische?. The rooms are very spacious and recently renovated with a complete kitchen.

Excellent privately located hotel

Posted Mar 6, 2015
Pros: Private and quiet, away from main tourist area congestion.
Location: Great golfing, diving and snorkeling close by. Makena State Park beach and dormant Haleakala volcano lava flows.
Hotel Wailea is privately located away from the main hotel/condominium areas in Wailea and Kihei. Approximately a 10 minute walk or 5 minute car ride to the beach areas with plenty of parking at all the beach areas. Outstanding view of the Pacific ocean and close by islands of Molokini and Kahoolawe from the hotel. Restaurant is a bit pricey in the hotel but plenty of other options in Wailea and Kihei.

Nice hotel

Enjoyed our stay here. Staff was outstanding, shuttle service was great. We had an oceanview suite, watched the whales from our deck. Not an oceanfront property but the views were still good. Nice and quiet. We would stay here again

We stayed here for our honeymoon, it was amazing. Exactly like the photos online, the pool was great and not super busy. Not being right on the water was no big deal. Amazing patio views

A unique hotel

Posted Jan 13, 2015
Pros: Beautiful gardens, delicious food, trendy decor and design, spacious room, great service from all staff. I don't have anything bad to say. We loved it
Cons: Nothing. It was amazing! I wish we could have stayed longer but we had already stayed 7 nights in Napili so it was time to come home.
Location: It is a 5 minute drive to the public beach. Someone will help you with your umbrella, chairs, and towels once you get to the beach.
My husband and I had an amazing two nights at Hotel Wailea and we would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Maui. The hotel was completely remodeled in 2014 so it has a high-end and trendy design. The views are spectacular and the food was unreal. We could watch whales while eating our morning breakfast. It was a "couples" feel so we didn't see many families with young children. We highly recommend this hotel to any couple traveling to Maui.

Privacy and understated elegance

Posted Dec 25, 2014
Pros: I liked everything about this hotel. Common areas are elegant , the pool is contemporary and very stylish, low key, with gorgeous cabanas.
Cons: Would be great if there was a breakfast option for light continental fare to go along with the complimentary coffee.
Location: Complimentary Shuttle service makes it easy to explore the area.
Gem of a spot for those preferring quiet over crowds and kitsch. Lovely property with lush landscaping and v well designed rooms outfitted w high end materials and attention to detail. Expensive restaurant but serves exceptional food on par with the best spots around the world. Excellent service.

Nice Rooms, but awkward to navigate

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: Very nice rooms and EXCELLENT showers - a big deal since you spend a lot of time rinsing sand and salt off in Hawaii.
Cons: I would certainly like to see a better, more central parking situation and better room access with improved path lighting.
The hotel was nice. Excellent presentation and very nice suites. However, be prepared to walk - the parking was far from rooms (valet was further). Due to the separate buildings (four suites per) spaced out around the grounds and connected with paths, leaving the room and coming back were a pain; we finally started entering through the service road since our building was close to it. The grounds are on a slope so the walk was inclined as well. Tiring when you are on vacation. The other glaring issue was that the lighting on the path to our building was out the ENTIRE time we were there. Very dark and potentially dangerous. I mentioned it to the staff several time but nothing was ever changed. Parking was also challenging - very tight spaces and few of them. Had to let my wife out before I pulled in and then slither out of the door. Further complicating the parking issue, was the fact that the hotel and restaurant staff parked in the limited spaces. Overall the facilities were nice but it was fairly inconvenient for a 4+ star hotel. About a mile of driving to the beach each way, but the beach staff was decent, but it was evident that the beach front hotels were the big boys on the beach and Hotel Wailea was just wedged in between them.
