Early wake up call

Posted Jan 24, 2015
There are some noisy birds in the courtyard area including some penguins that sound like donkeys and that woke us up at 5 am, and our room was on the fifth floor! They should consider moving the location of the birds or finding ones that like to sleep in like the rest of us on vacation!

Not comparable to the other hotels on same beach!

Posted Jan 23, 2015
- The hotel room was quite dated. - there was hair in our bedspread, and towels. - There was a tiny ant infestation coming somewhere from the vanity sink. - deluxe oceanfront means 70% ocean view. - the balcony was tiny! - the beachside cabanas were the best part about the hotel. And they cost $60 per day

Great Hotel with wonderful location

Posted Jan 18, 2015
The Hyatt Regency Maui exceeded our expectations. The room was wonderful, the restaurants were good and the stay very relaxing. The staff was very helpful. A couple of suggestions: 1. The resort fee of $30 per room per day should be disclosed prior to booking 2. The timeshare sales people should be less aggressive

Pros: 좋은 점이 하나도 없습니다.
절대로 호텔 이름만 보고 예약하지 마세요. 이런 호텔이 메리어트나 웨스틴과 비교되는 게 믿기지 않군요.

Nice hotel;Nice Llocation

Posted Jan 15, 2015
Pros: On the beach, good pool, good staff.
Cons: Free the birds
The hotel overall is well appointed, lovely grounds and pretty good restaurants. Yes it's busy but one has to expect that in Hawaii - the rooms are adequate could use a few more draws. Probably the least amount of draw space for hotel of that class I've stayed in. The staff is pleasant and helpful the place clean and by and large a very "nice" place to stay. But I do have two pet-peeve's - the first: at every turn there is someone trying to get you to attend one of the timeshare presentation - gets a bit much after awhile and secondly and this is a big one: surely we've got beyond displaying wild-things just for the passing pleasure of a few individuals. I'm talking about the birds, the birds have been mutilated so the can't fly and have to sit on a brass ring or in a small cage so they can be gawked at - really that's just not fair. And the penguins they look confused and disoriented. I know I'm assigning anthropomorphic feelings to the penguins but having seen them in their native country and having swum with them in the Galapagos and watched them swimming in the vast ocean with such abandon and delight it just seems such a shame to coop them up in that small space with nothing to do and no place to spread their "water-wings".

Nice hotel

Posted Jan 15, 2015
Pros: Rooms are nice.
Location: Drive to Hana (3 hours) is really nice, leave early. The drive up to the volcano also nice, although not as spectacular as the one to Hana.
Staid for eight nights with my family. Rooms are big and comfortable. Common areas feel crowded. Beach is not the best.

Excellent property!

Duck meatballs at Japengo are the equivalent of perfectly cooked unicorn steaks. Out of this world.

Close to golf and spa

Had one bad meal (steak) that was provided by a third party vendor in the hotel. The wait staff forgot about use after we were seated (at least 35 minutes, on Christmas Eve), we still paid for the meal that was really not all that great. Staff did not even come back to the table to see how things were. Spoke to a manager (Asian girl by the name of Emily) by the pool while having lunch days later. She asked how we were, and I explained how great everything was except for the one meal. She not only removed the meal from our bill, she gave us a basket full of goodies for our Hana trip the next day. Hats off to Emily, she made everything pleasant again. I own my own business and the great customer service was deeply appreciated.
