Great location, friendly staff, lovely rooms. Only negative is the annoying time share sales displays and sales people.

A great resort, for a great experience!

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: The ocean front setting, the pool/bar is excellent, and the customer service!
Cons: the beds could be a little more comfortable, good, but not great, and when the time share selling is over, should be less intrusive salespeople!
Location: Whaler Village has everything, and Lahaina is fantastic!
I have stayed at the Hyatt several times. We love the property, it is beautiful! The most important reason we return is the customer service, specifically, a lovely man at Umalu, the pool bar/restaurant named Alona! sounds funny, but he is truly one of the reasons we return! Aside from Alona, the front desk is friendly, helpful, and gave us a lovely upgrade. We were in the Lahaina tower, recommended, a bit farther south on the property making a longer walk to Whaler's Village and the beach walk, also a small bit of construction by the elevators. The time share construction noise was not noticeable at all, so dont worry! Comfortable rooms, classic Hawaii. Very clean rooms, beautifully cared for property with a stunning ocean front location! We recommend this resort for a great vacation, and a fantastic customer service experience!

Second trip to Maui

Posted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: Pool is perfect, rooms are nice and the setting is ideal save for the "beach" immediately in front of the hotel.
Cons: The food at Umalu is just OK and a wee overpriced. Go in with eyes wide open in Maui I guess.
Location: Plenty of cool places to walk to and a short drive to Front Street in Lahaina. Food at Japengo is excellent.
This was our second stay at this hotel on Maui. Location is excellent, services are quite good and the staff is very accommodating. We will return again.

A great hotel for families.

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: Landscaping around the resort is great with many things such as live penquins in the center area, and the swans at the Swan Court.
Cons: Pool chairs are very uncomfortable.
Location: Lahaina is a great older town which was the original capital of Hawaii. Whalers Village. A helicopter tour will give you a great view of the island.
Check in was excellent after an exhausting long flight from the east coast. I was greeted by the valet when he explained the parking fees for valet versus self parking. I was pleased with the service and had intended to self park. I didn't leave the facility for 2 days and when they brought our car to us there was an 18" key scratch on the drivers door. When I inquired about the parking lots with management if they were separate and why I ask they said they were. Other than this problem which the management team reduced our parking fee on checkout was excellent. The only drawback is the pool area isn't large enough for a hotel of this size. Poolchairs go fast and can't be left unattended for more than an hour.

Not very honest with their clients and don't care

Posted Oct 24, 2014
Pros: The hotel is really pretty. Enjoyed the penguins and the pineapple growing on the premises. The beds, quilts and pillows are amazing. Luau, great.
Cons: Being honest when booking rooms. Discount for rooms with roof view. Happy bartender. Lower price of drinks at the pool. Food expensive.
Location: This hotel is located in a good place. You can drive both ways to see everything. A bit of a drive from the airport, but everything is close enough.
The hotel itself it nice. I had called to get a king bed in which they said ok. Then when we were checking in there was a young couple who was saying they requested a king, looked like they were on their honeymoon. I am thinking to myself, ah, she should have called the hotel like me. NOPE, I go up there to check in and they say the same to me. I say, yes but I called and confirmed. She continues to tell me, yes, we say, we got your request, that doesn't mean you get it. WHAT? Then they put us in this room that is for handicapped people, no problem, but different. The view was AWFUL. They have a patio you can sit out but all you can see is their roof. The patio is beneath the roof. Who designed that? NOT GOOD. Wasn't thinking :(. Went to the bar to wait for something. Bartender not at all friendly nor does he smile. Of course, anyone can have a bad day, but really, people are paying a lot of money on a dream vacation. I have NEVER met a bartender that wasn't friendly. The grounds are nice, enjoyed the penguins and the pineapple growing on the premises. The beds are amazing, nice comfortable quilts and pillows. So good I want to buy a quilt like that. Luau was amazing here. We ordered 2 drinks at the pool. $28.00. WOW, really. Didn't do that again. Everything costs. If you want things to float, covered chair, etc. all cost extra. Maui, itself, So pretty, want to go back.

We LOVED our stay!

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Location: The location is great, right off the beach. It is a bit farther from Whalers Village and Black Rock than we would have liked, but the walk is nice.
The Hyatt Regency on Kaanapali is wonderful! The staff is very helpful, responsive, and friendly. The hotel also has wonderful restaurants which are easy to access. I would recommend getting the package with breakfast included, it made every morning easy and the food is great.
