Fancy Resort in a Beach TownPosted Mar 4, 2014
Location: The location is great for tourists who want access to beach activities, whale watching and lots of restaurants.
Had a really nice experience at the Hyatt. Lots of restaurants, a beautiful pool, nice sized hotel rooms. The hotel is pretty over the top - penguins in the lobby, a huge water slide, flamingos in the garden.

Excellent resort hotel on beautiful Kaanapali beacPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Location and quality of hotel.
Cons: Remove the resort fee. The hotels in this area are adding it and considering the cost of these hotels it is not fair.
Location: Beautiful beaches, swimming, long walks along beach, on sand or paved path. Whaler's Village, restaurants, local bus every hour. Close to Lahaina.
Would definitely stay here again, everything was excellent (assuming you want a hotel room not a condo). Small fridge in room, coffee maker, internet. Beautiful grounds, and pools.

Maui Hyatt RegencyPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Staff was pleasant, location was fantastic, view was superb. Pool was large and spacious and activities for the kids were nice.
Cons: Room service menu was pretty lax for a resort. Kids menu offered spaghetti & meatballs but meatballs were disgusting and seemed to be veggie.
Location: Whaler's village was great! Fun fishing trips and horseback riding at Lahaina Stables, our guide Carries was fantastic!
The pool is huge and you don't feel crowded. There are 2 slides, a lava tube slide and a kiddie slide. The lava tube slide does empty into 9 feet of water so is a major consideration for children. The staff was very pleasant and worked hard at fixing issues we had with our stay. Maid service was good except for the maid coming right into the room when my daughter asked her to come back later and I was in bed. Room service menu could be a lot better. Choices for kids was very good, however meatballs were anything but meat and pretty nasty. Menu offered free refills on milk but staff was unaware of that.

Pros: everything else was pleasureable.
Cons: what i mentioned about the luggage situation.
Location: location was great.
the time it took to get our luggage from the hotel staff in storage to be placed in vehicle was unacceptable during our departure.

Great Hotel.Posted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: The property was very nicely maintain and easy to get around.
Cons: The beds were a little old and not that comfortable. But the rest of the room was very nice.
Location: The location was perfect. Close to Lahaina but not in town. There was a walking path that took you to many different hotels to try their restaurants.
Hotel was very nice. The location was great. Close to Lahaina but not in town. They had a great pool and beach front. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Very nice location, great mealsPosted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: Enjoyed the restaurant. easy to get to your vehicle and park, close enough to travel anywheres on the island
Cons: We found the hotel room to be acceptable, knowing it is not brand new and could do a little updating in furniture
Location: Great for attending the luau, did not go to the luau this visit, but I was there 2 years ago and noticed a price increase.Golfing is very close. .
We happened to be there during several rainy days. We enjoyed the Sushi Bar, and actually went 3 times in one week. Friendly service all the time. We were asked if we had all inclusive and I certainly wish we could have as we ate at the hotel because it was convenient for us. Breakfast was very enjoyable, good buffet.

Not up to Hyatt standardsPosted Feb 23, 2014
They told us we had a room upgrade. Turned out they were working on repairing and painting our balcony so a man was on our balcony every day during the period of our stay so no privacy and couldn't use our balcony most of the time. So much for a partial ocean view. Also a strong chemical smell was coming into our room via the air conditioner from the work being done on our balcony. Also my new Victoria's Secret bathing suit was hanging on the chair on the balcony, had black sealer spilled on it, luckily it washed out. The first day we received no maid service so no fresh towels, no coffee, no toilet paper,. trash baskets were overflowing. Second day maid come and didn't do a complete job so we had to call guest services for coffee and toilet paper.
