“Great Trip”

The Kaanapali Ali is a great place to stay. We booked a one bedroom (actually has two bedrooms) 1,500 square foot garden view room and they bumped us up to a partial ocean view room (Building 3 - Unit 332) that was awesome. If you have younger kids this is the place to stay b/c you have the full kitchen, family room, terrace, washer and dryer etc. etc. Sure the pool does not have water slides (Westin) or pirate ships (Marriott) which probably appeal to kids over 4, but the other amenities are far superior. Also, all the guests were really good people.

Area recommendations
I would recommend people stay on Kaanapali Beach.

“Can't wait to go back”

We had a great time. The location is great, close to nice restaurants and shopping. It is extra nice to cook in kitchen or barbeque by the beach once in a while. The beach is nice and quiet, a lot quieter than Black Rock end and the other end. We stayed in unit 184, 2 bedroom ocean view premier. Excellent staff. We were not able to decide between a ground floor unit which has easy access to pools and beach and unit 184 which is on the eighth floor. John, who handled our luggages, showed us both units. He told us everything about the facility, places that we could visit while we were checking out both units. He even remembered our last names when we saw him a few days later! Awesome! This is what customer service is about. We picked 184 because of the gorgeous view. The staff by the beach and pool are extremely helpful, friendly and smiled all the time. Manny, beach staff, went out of his way to arrange our cabanas location to make sure we were comfortable. What a nice young man. Even off duty staff greeted us as they were going home. The customer service here is much better than Four Season in Las Vegas. We usually like to try out a different hotel whenever we travel. However, when we visit Maui again in the futre, we are going to stay here.

“Honeymoon stay”

At first we were a bit confused as no restaurants or bars are available in the hotel and everything closed at 10.00 pm (we arrived at 10.30pm) therefore went to bed hungry. After the second day we realized that it was an advantage to have a full kitchen in the condo as after two weeks of travelling you usually get fed up with hotel breakfasts. The condo was huge, spacious, clean. we stayed in an ocean view premiere suite. Opt for the premier ones if possible. The beach was huge, clean and would recommend this nice place to anyone not seeking usual resort amenities like bars and restaurants shops and stuff (you may use any of the sourrounding hotel bars). Still a beach bar would be nice, we used the Mariott's which was a few steps away. Eat at Lahaine Grill or Mama's Fish House, or Ruth's Chris Steak House.

Area recommendations
Travel as much as you can, try to see all parts of the island. Get a rental car at Hertz or bigger companies, nearly the same price as dollar and other low category stuff but offering vehicles in far better condition.
What to pack
lots of sun cream and stuff for sunburn which you may easily get here

“Defnitely would return”

The Kaanapali Alii far exceeded my expectations in terms of service, location, and accommodations. Our unit was superior compared to other friends and family who stayed in nearby five star hotels and condominium units. It was large, well furnished, and the staff was exceptionally helpful. I am someone who likes to try a new hotel/condominium when I return to a favorite vacation destination. However, if I return to Kaanapali Beach, I will definitely stay at the Kaanapali Alii again!

Area recommendations
I would recommend all of the activities, shopping, and restaurants located along Kaanapali Beach. There are plenty of things to do for a week or more without leaving the beach!
Other
If you are considering getting married or celebrating any type of special occasion, please check out Leilani's. The location is right on the beach and sunsets are spectacular! The quality of food and the service is exceptional. Contact their event planner, Kako, and she will make sure that your event is flawless.

“The best vacation EVER!”

The best vacation we have ever had. There was nothing that could be said negatively about the Ka'annapali Alii. The people, the beach, the pools, the condo, all wonderful. I highly recommend the Ka'annapali Alii to anyone who wants a stress-free vacation.

“Affordable paradise”

We absolutely loved our stay at the Kaanapali Alii and can't imagine staying anywhere else on Maui in the future. The condo was huge -- plenty big for our family of four, including two teenagers -- and about the same price you'd pay for a one-room hotel room in a nearby hotel. We felt like we were living in a home, not a hotel/condo. The staff and facilities were great, too. We can't wait to go back again!
