Good locationPosted Mar 24, 2015
Cons: Property would benefit from updated furnishings in apartments - feels a little old and tired
Location: Whale watching, Whalers Village, Lahaina
Spacious apartments - but furnishings are a little tired and could do with a refresh and rooms are quite dark - need lights on most of the time. Staff were helpful, location was good as right on beach and in heart of Kaanapali. Lovely to watch whales off the beach. Not enough shady spots by the pool - more umbrellas need to be made available by the hotel. Staff at beach did not explain that there was a cost for using the beach cabana - so when we found this out a few days later we spoke to reception who reversed the charge accordingly - this was good customer service.

Best Beach in Maui for families, wonderful suitesPosted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: Spacious apartment, clean, well maintained, excellent kitchen to cook our own meals.
Cons: Figure out how to make the days last longer!
Location: 3rd trip to this area of Maui; our favourite. Also stayed in Kihei but prefer Kaanapali. Lots to do, stores nearby, surfing, snorkelling at Black Rock
We had a mountain view, 1 bedroom suite, had wonderful sunrises every morning and enjoyed our coffee on the large lanai as the sun came up. We have twin 15 year old boys and they loved their trip here. They practically spent their time on the beach and in the pool, they took surfing lessons and burned a lot of energy jumping the waves running into the water, we did some snorkelling at Molokini and at the nearby Black Rock (which is walking distance on a sidewalk by the beach). This was perfect for us, allowed us to make our own meals in a excellent, well furnished kitchen with modern appliances, which saved us quite a bit of money. Restaurants in Maui aren't cheap (and very busy) so having a kitchen allowed us to have a leisurely breakfast and a quick lunch at our convenience. Our apartment had a washer and dryer, free internet, a king bed in the master, an extra queen size bed in the den, and a large Lanai. We didn't mind the lack of an onsite bar or restaurant since there are plenty of restaurants next door and very close by when we wanted to eat out. Kaanapali Alii also have agreements with 3 or 4 or the adjacent resort restaurants so you can charge meals directly to your room (they gave us a card at check in). We even saw whales offshore, near the resort. If you want a regular smaller room in a traditional, full service hotel, then this might not be for you. But if you want a modern, spacious and well equipped apartment, then this is a fantastic choice. We'll be back.

Nice Condo, right on the beachPosted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: Great location. Wonderful beach. Full kitchen is nice and convenient. Ability to use adjacent hotels ammenities and charge to our room was nice.
Cons: needs a pool bar and grill, but we were able to use the nearby hotel's bar
Location: great location right on beach. Snorkeling, sailing and other beach activities are convenient. Close to Whaler's Village with plenty of shops/food
Nice, clean condo right on the beach. Pool was nice, staff friendly. We enjoyed having the full kitchen since there are no restaurants in the building. The hotels on either side have dining options that you can use and charge to your room. Overall, I nice place that we would go back to again- especially if you have a family with children of any age.

Amazing stay -Posted Jan 14, 2015 on Hotels.com
Location, room, facility, beach and local restaurants are all wonderful. We stayed in room 242 and loved every bit of our stay except for the departure! We loved it so much we didn't explore the island enough so we have to come back again! We stayed we two adult children and we all had plenty of space - thanks again to the hosts! Go with small children, teenagers or elderly - something for everyone - will bypass Honolulu next time and come straight here!
