Everything was top-notchPosted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: Tons of space, nice interiors, exceedingly clean especially given the size. Hotel-provided (free) chairs on the beach are a nice touch too.
Cons: Towel cards seemed a bit silly and petty. The 3 or 4 things to sign at check-in needs streamlining. Baby crib pricing is insane ($25/night).
Location: Located right up against a relatively uncrowded beach, access to the Kaanapali boardwalk and close to excellent Whaler's Village food.
My wife and I have stayed in this part of Maui a few times and my wife always oogled this place as we walked by. We always assumed it was condos for purchase and didn't realize you could stay here. One thing to remember is that it is _not_ a traditional hotel. The contents of the room are owned and maintained by individuals so they can vary quite a bit from room to room. But, compared to a normal hotel, this place is huge. If you don't have a need for lots of space and don't want to pay for it, stay elsewhere. The kitchen had plenty of glasses, pots, pans and just about everything we needed. The appliances were all pretty new and very nice, and there was always a grill available outside when we needed one. It was really nice to have a choice to be able to prepare a real meal and eat in instead of dragging our toddler around Maui. Other thoughts: Our unit had free wifi. The walls dividing the units are solid concrete and I can't imagine much sound getting through them.

Comfortable Resort & Great LocationPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: Convient Location, Updated Rooms, Great Staff
Location - in the middle of Kaanapali Beach and short beachside sidewalk stroll to Whalers Village shops and restaurants, as well as other resorts' restaurants, water activities (e.g., sailing snorkle tours, surf board / paddle board rental, parasailing), and several nearby walkable luau's. Immediate beach is moderately wide to support many guests and staffed with very helpful support personnel. The pool area, while not as large as other nearby resorts, is clean with plenty of space to relax and has a separate 'quiet' pool for adults and an adjoining large hot tub. Room - Ours was a recently updated one-bedroom, two-bath garden view apartment on the 2nd floor. It also included a smaller guest room, full kitchen with granite countertops, large dining area, two large flat-screen TVs, washer & dryer (very very useful), and an outside patio. The view unfortunately was terrible as we overlooked the north side of the property and the noisy construction area of the next door Westin hotel. Fortunately, we spent little daytime in the room as we were enjoying Kaanapali and the island. Free inroom WiFi!! Suggestion: Stay on upper floors if you have a 'garden view'. Staff - Fantastic. Immediate response to all issues (how to use the television, broken dishwasher). Gave great suggestions about neaby and island-wide activities. Grounds - Very well maintained. Parking was ample, very close, and was included in our rate. Excellent workout facility.

A Beautiful ExperiencePosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: I like that there was an adult pool, and I like the Palapas, which gave us shade on the lawns. There's a wonderful kids pool and BBQ area.
What a treat! This was the most relaxed experience I've ever had in Maui. We usually stay in Waiela, but we were ready to do something different. We'd often heard of this place, but I was afraid it might be old and tired. It was the complete opposite, and there's such pride and care taken by the owners, the staff, the pool staff, and those handling the beach chairs, etc. I always felt taken care of, can't wait to go back. This is directly on the beach, and we could hear and see the ocean from our bedroom, livingroom, and dining area. So many activities that we enjoyed were within close walking distance on the beach. You can surf, kayak, go for a sail or go snorkling for the day. It's just the best! Enjoy!!!!

Great location, very close to the beach & hotelsPosted Oct 9, 2013
Pros: We loved that we had a huge ground floor apartment close to the complex pool. It was well equipped, the staff were friendly & parking free
Cons: The air-conditioning units could be improved & the decor was a little tired.
Location: We were able to walk along Kaanapali Beach to the Whalers Village and past a number of neighbouring hotels. It was a short drive to Lahaina town.
My husband & I stayed at Kaanapali Alii with our daughters (ages 8 & 9). We had a fabulous time on Maui - it a place where you could do as much or as little as you wanted. The complex pool kept us cool & the girls entertained for hours. We were able to self-cater as the kitchen was fully equipped but also go out to eat as we were within walking distance of many hotels, restaurants & the Whalers Village. We had a rental car and Kaanapali was a good base as from there it was a short drive to Lahaina town & to Kapalua Bay for great snorkeling. We also went zip-lining & on a boat cruise to Molokini Island & Turtle Town. We all loved Maui & will definitely return.

Awesome condo on the best beach in KaanapaliPosted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: Location, rooms, and views
Cons: Food and Beverage service on property
Location: Great beach in the heart of Kaanapali.
Loved having a 1500 square foot condo. Gorgeous ocean view. Great beach. Only down side is that there isn't any food and beverage service at the pool. But, you save a lot of money bringing your own.

Nice, spacious condominium close to beach and golfPosted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: Fully appointed kitchen; close proximity to beach and other activities
Cons: Pool is kind of basic. In addition to room charge privileges, would be helpful if pool privileges were offered as well.
Location: Two golf courses, dining and shopping (Whaler's Village), other hotels, jet ski rental nearby, cabanas, surfing lessons
All the amenities are included. We reserved a one bedroom, and it came with a den, living room, dining room, lanai, 2 bathrooms, washer / dryer, dishwasher, full kitchen. Concierge was helpful, making reservations for golf and anwering other questions we had. Support staff was very courteous. They had an attendant at the grilling area to help novices with their cooking. The Alii has an agreement with other hotels in Ka'anapali so that you can do a room charge; would suggest that they also include pool privileges as well.

Large condo on the beachPosted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: Location, service, large room
Cons: Room or pool service
Location: Rent paddle boards, surf boards , go snorkle with the sea turtles, zip line, luau, parasailing
This is perfect for families. We stayed in the two bedroom condo. It was nicely updated with stainless steel appliances, granite counters, and a full kitchen. Our balcony was spacious with a beautiful view of the ocean. There is no room or pool service but you can charge to the room at the Westin hotel next door. They have a great place to BBQ equipped with everything you need, including paper plates and plasticware. You can rent a cabana on the sand or they will provide chairs to use at no cost. We have three teenagers, we all enjoyed this place and would return again.
