Location: Black Rock for snorkeling.
The rooms are very clean and well maintained. My only issue there was that I would put a privacy (do not disturb) note on the door, and the housekeeping would still come in and change all my towels (whether they were on the floor or not), although I was trying to conserve water by reusing my towels. Also, the breakfast buffet at the courtyard restaurant was bad quality. Ordering something off of the menu though is better.

Excellent location on the beach. Very friendly staff. Plenty of nice quiet areas on the grounds to relax in the shade if desired. A nice focus on traditional Hawaiian activities.

Comfortable hotel on the beach

Posted Sep 6, 2014
We enjoyed our week long stay. The rooms are a bit dated but in keeping with a traditional hawaiian feel. The grounds and garden are spacious with plenty of sunlounges but the pool is quite small. The beach is right next to the hotel. Good location.

Underwhelming and disappointing experience

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: The location and the price are good.
Cons: More staff at the front desk, better internet
The hotel was severely understaffed. To speak to anyone at the front desk, you could almost count on a 15-20 minute wait. This could easily be fixed by adding a couple of employees. You can only access the internet in the lobby and even there, the internet connection is spotty at best and there are no great places to plug in a computer. The hotel is badly in need of a face-lift, too. It is the cheapest option in the area, but some minor improvements in staffing and technology would go a long way in making this a better hotel.

Wonderfully authentic hotel right on the water

This was our second stay here and the hotel is even better. They provide stellar service while always educating their guests about the traditions of Hawaii. The special traditional Hawaiian dinner was a stand-out feature, both delicious and instructive. Finally, the price combined with the location is unbeatable.

Great hotel close to beach, shopping, restaurants.

More relaxing than Waikiki; The Kaanapoli Beach Hotel is a beautiful property, with grassy areas, a nice pool. Tiki Bar, Tiki Grill, restaurant & convenience store. A short walk on the "Beach Walk" brings you to the Whaler's Village with shops & restaurants. Or, take the shuttle to Lahaina, where you find more shopping & restaurants. Unhurried.. a truly Hawaiin experience. The departure ceremony at the end of our stay really touched our hearts, as we were each presented a Lei made of kukuli nuts.

Great place right by the beach.

This resort is next to other high- end resorts. You can stay here and visit other resorts for specific amenities. Staff, rooms and location are great. You get the same treatment here as elsewhere. I would stay here again!

Nice location with wonderful staff

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: The hotel itself was well maintained.
Cons: .
Location: Very central for access to stores and attractions
The Hotel is well maintained with very friendly and helpful Staff. Things to make it better would be free Wifi and bottled water in rooms.
