Pros: The hotel is right on the beach. The housekeeping staff were very efficient and did a great job. I enjoyed the hotel entertainment and the good food.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The hotel is very close to Whalers Village for shopping and dining. Black Rock reef is nearby for snorkeling.
Very relaxing. Good food, entertainment and friendly hotel staff.

Homely & Peaceful, good value for money

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: Grounds were beautiful & peaceful & calming.
Cons: Only slight area for improvement is to provide wifi in the rooms - currently only available in the garden area - but hey, maybe one doesn't really nee
Location: On the beach!!!! Snorkelling at black rock, turtles. Walk to Whalers shopping village in 3 mins along beach, has cheap eats, general store, & yes, LV
Conveniently located on the beach, & near shopping village. Beautiful for beachside walks each morning, stop at Starbucks for a coffee & chill. Lovely Hawaiian hospitality. Not a 5 star hotel, but then again not a 5 star price. Don't have to pay through the nose too feed yourself. Nice bar & grill near pool at normal prices - highly recommend ground ahi burger (only $14) my personal favourite. Staff were very nice & helpful. Had a minor plumbing issue with our toilet but staff came instantly after phone call & fixed immediately. Would highly recommend this hotel for people wanting to enjoy beachside resort at a realistic price.

A piece of history

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Staying here is like stepping back to old Hawaii. It is a warm friendly family type operation it is so unlike the big glitzy hotels surrounding it. We feel it is a rare treasure and hope it never conforms to the 21st century

Best beach hotel for the money!

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness and the service of the staff members. Located on Kaanapali beach close to Black Rock ( local snorkeling spot ).
Cons: Some hotel updates are needed.
Location: Pride of Maui half-day tour, road to Hana, Haleakala Peak, Luau ( Hawaiian barbecue feast ), Big Beach in Wailea.
It is located on the best beach in Maui. The hotel is old, but the staff and service is excellent. Everything is super clean, functional and simple, no excessive luxury. We rented a car from Budget and the hotel's rate was 10$ a day. Some people say that renting a car in Maui is a waste of money, I would say it depends... If your vacation plan is to sip Mai Tai's on the best beach every day, then you do not need a car. But if you want to hit the Maui roads and explore for yourself, a rental car is an absolute must.

our stay at kaanapali beach hotel

Posted Nov 8, 2014
Pros: the staff....the grounds....the beach
Cons: in the past, our return trips always had a special something for us the next day in our room. this time there was nothing like that. I was bummed.
Location: awesome location....whalers village within walking distance. Lahina's front street shopping is 5 min. away. aquriaum is 15 min away with Buzz's Warf.
my husband and I love this hotel....we have been there 5 times and keep going back/////////will go back again next year. the staff is awesome and the grounds are beautiful and so well kept....the ocean is right there, and black beach is walking distance for great snorkeling (which you can rent your equipment on the premises) the breakfast your first morning is great, and all the information they give you is very helpful to first timers.

A lovely place to stay!

Posted Nov 8, 2014
We enjoyed the beautiful grounds, very comfortable rooms, nightly entertainment with live band and hoola dancing and the beautiful ocean sunsets. The walking path along the water links up with shopping or we could go in the opposite direction and snorkel at black rock.
