would book in another area next time..too windy

Posted Dec 19, 2007
Nice condo..ours was too close to the hwy and VERY noisey due to heavy car traffic. Nice room, one in the front away from the road would probably be nice. In a windy area..2 miles down the beach no wind??

Lucky me - got a newly refurbished condo...

Grounds and staff were very nice. I was lucky enough to get a freshly redone one bedroom condo. Not the fanciest, but pleasant. The beach and general location is great - just steps to the pool and then to the beach.

Not what we expected

Posted Jul 4, 2007
Although the kitchen was nice to have, we had a huge ant problem the entire 9 days we were there. Outside there was the constant smell of chemicals from a nearby plant and the persistant, gusting winds kept us from using the beach right in front of the complex. We did find the local residents of the condo very nice, but unfortunately their friendliness will not bring us back to their place next time.

Adequate, nothing to write home about

The Kealia Resort room we reserved was very reasonable for Maui, it was a studio with full kitchen--no dishwasher. The bed was tiny for 2 people. The sitting room furniture was awful! The kitchen was nicely remodeled, but kitchen supplies were few. The ocean was beautiful and right in front of the resort. For a resort, it only had a pool and the ocean. The cheaper rooms hear the traffic of a busy highway.

Budget Condo for 4 days of more trip to Maui

Posted Mar 28, 2007
If you are out to Maui for 4 days or more, and want to have beachfront accommodation with reasonable price but don't expect much amenities, then Kealia Condo is for you. The building is rather old, and no maid services. Studios have wall beds, which maximizes space. However, the bed is old in our unit. IF this is not a problem and you think of spending most of your time outside, then Kealia is for you! Swimming on the beach is a stone-throw away. Good beach! Basic needs (convenience stores, massage and activity desk) is next door at Sugar Beach Resort. It can get very windy when Kona wind blows, and highway noise can be loud. If you see smoke in a distance, that may mean they are burning sugar canes, and close all doors and windows when it is windy because the wind blows the sugar cane debris inside the unit! ALL basic needs provided, AND there is a FREE wireless internet connection in every units! Manager is super friendly too!

Great Place!

This was a great place to stay! The room was perfect for me. I had a one bedroom, number 303. It was very clean with everything you could possibly need; extra blankets, towels, beach towels and even snorkel gear. The kitchen was the best equipped I have ever seen in a condo. I will stay here from now on when I go to Maui on business.

Just right for our budget and needs

Kealia Resort was great. We were on our honeymoon and did not have a lot of money. But for the money we got a great room. The room were fully furnished even with extra. They could use more King side beds. We had a room with an Oceanfront view and it was great.
