Great location right on a nice beach.

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: Location
Location: Shopping, restaurants, nice beaches.
We reserved the hotel room and were very disappointed with the size so we upgraded to a one bedroom condo after one night. The one bedroom was very nice with a great outdoor space overlooking the grounds and beach. I would not recommend the hotel room at all as it was very small. Good snorkeling right out in front of the hotel.

Pros: See above
Cons: Nothing
Location: Kihei/Wailea golf course's, water activities
The hotel is both on the beach and close to the amenities at Kehei or Wailea. Nice restaurant on site and next door(Sarento's)

Perfect location on the beach

This was our second stay at the Mana Kai Maui and we were very pleased. The location is unbeatable and the amenities are excellent. The property contains a grocery store/deli (Zack's), a surf shop where you can rent equipment including coolers and beach chairs, and an activity booking kiosk where you can arrange tours and activities. You couldn't ask for more!

Pros: Size, service and special care by the staff
Cons: Information on hiking State Park in Wialea perhaps?
Location: Golf,..local snorkelling at the resort was better than Molikini!
Our 33rd anniversary celebration where we spent part of our Honeymoon those years ago. It has exceeded our expectations and brought back fond memories. Thanks to Paula for her assistance at late checkin,..Terri at the front desk, Tyler at the rentals, Dina at the bar, William from Security, Brian from Boston at the 5 Palms for making our vacation again a wonderful time! see you next year!!

Not bad

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Parking was easy. Hotel staff were excellent.
Cons: We actually didn't get the room we were supposed to have. We requested a change but couldn't do it until the next day.
Location: Lots of eateries. Beach right outside. Lawn chairs beach side.
They have two elevators, one was out of commission once. Fixed right away. It was super windy on the eighth floor during the afternoons. Windows would rattle. Parking was easy. Always had a spot.

Hotel (Not a Big Resort) on the Beach

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: We love the proximity to the ocean, great views from the lanai and the laid back vibe.
Cons: The restaurant's food is not as good as it once was... In fact its pretty mediocre. Everything is expensive in Maui, but the shop is laughably so.
Location: Mana Kai is on the ocean, ok snorkeling out front and better spots within easy walking distance. A nice walking path to the Wailea resorts is close.
Our favorite part about the Mana Kai, apart from its location on the beach, is that it is NOT a huge resort. It feels more relaxed and real then the big places, and that's why we always stay here.

Exceeding my expectations

Posted Aug 3, 2014
The room was a one bedroom with lounge and kitchen. It was perfect for what we wanted. The resort was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. The snorkelling right outside the resort was fantastic, especially swimming amongst the turtles everyday. Loved the paddle boarding too. We ate a few nights in our room using the kitchen. We shopped for food at Foodlands and Safeway. They do have a general store which is well equipped if you don't need too much. We caught the local bus on first day but got a rental car after that. The only disappointment was the restaurant attached to the resort. We had fairly poor service and food was very average. We did complain and we're not charged for the meal but given the prices we just expected more. There is a restaurant across from Mana Kai and it was fabulous. Totally recommend this place, we could have easily stayed longer.
