Maui WauiPosted Nov 19, 2013
Pros: Centrally located and very comfortable, Staff were friendly and very helpful.
Cons: Do not charge the surchage fee of $18 per day, as I did not use any of the extras they claim is available.
The Maui Coast is in a great location and has many places to dine close by. The facility was up to date and attractive looking from outside to inside. It has a pool bar with music every night and also a sit down dinner restaurant that had been renovated recently. I did not dine there but not because I heard anything bad about it. They also have a concierge service but if you have a rental car, I recommend that you do the tours yourself as the excursions are very pricey. I feel you would get more out of it, you can also rent a Gypsy GPS for the road to Hana as it tells you every detail while you drive it. The snorkeling excursions were okay nothing spectacular, if you went to other islands then you have seen it. I thought we would see sea turtles and whales but there is not guarantee. I snorkled by Black rock and seen as much as I did on the boat, well actually I seen sea turtles by the Black Rock/Hilton. Try Little Beach on late Sunday afternoons, it's a close optional beach but on Sunday's they have a drum roll, fire twilers, and fire throwers, was very entertaining.

Very nice hotel with all we needed near the beach.Posted Nov 17, 2013
Pros: Close to the beach, good price and had what we really found useful for us.
Location: Could walk for shopping, meals and to the beach.
We found this hotel well kept, had a fridge, microwave, nice balcony, and a great bed. The bathroom was a bit small, but we managed as there were lots of electrical outlets to allow us to get ready outside the bathroom. The beach was across the street, and down a part block. The beach was fine, but we had a car and packed up and went to different beaches in the area. We rented beach chairs for the week at Snorkel Bobs for a reasonable amount. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, as well as shopping. Rooms were well kept daily, as many hotels we have stayed previously don't always vacuum daily which they did here. Bottled water was left everyday which was nice for taking with us. We did not use the pool, laundry or fitness facilities but they looked good also. Resort fee covered wifi, parking, bicycles, and beach or pool towels. We would have no problem staying with this hotel in the future.

Nice clean hotel close to the beachPosted Nov 16, 2013
Pros: Everything. In fact, we stayed here for 5 nights and then at the Ritz-Carlton for 4 nights. Enjoyed the Maui Coast better.
Cons: Interaction with two staff was an issue, one a waiter at Ami Ami and the other at the pool bar. Great personality, very slow service.
Location: Lots of gift ships, stores, places to rent boards, beach chairs, scooters and to sign up for activities close by. Hotel has free bicycles to use.
My wife and i stayed at the Maui Coast hotel for 5 nights in November 2013 and had a great time. Hotel was very clean and well kept as were the grounds. Rooms were clean and furnishings looked like the were fairly new. Pool area was neat and clean and well kept. Easy access in and out. Nice, small veranda on the room. We were on the 4th floor. Cafe and pool service had good food, burgers, salads etc. Restaurant out front, Ami Ami, had very good higher end food and good ambiance. Staff at the hotel and restaurants were mostly very helpful. Had a couple of staff that we felt took an exceptionally long time to serve us and it wasn't that busy. Hotel is not on the beach, but is on the main strip and is walking distance to a couple of beaches. Lots of shops and stores close by.

Great hotel with amazing locationPosted Nov 14, 2013
Pros: Clean, professional, good value for the resort fee, complimentary shuttle, nice pool, good dining and amazing location.
Cons: WiFi is too slow for streaming videos, esp in the evenings. To watch stuff at night try downloading it from while you're out during the day.
Location: Nice beach across the street, ABC a short walk south, Kalama Beach Park and Kalama Kihei Village to the north, other shops & restaurants south.
Clean, well maintained, comfortable rooms. Professional staff and helpful concierge. The resort fee gets you more than a fair share of amenities including a complimentary shuttle (1st come-1st served so plan to wait 5-20 minutes) and bicycles (3hr limit) The pool area is great and includes a cafe/bar (usually with sports playing in the TV overhead), lounge chairs, rinse shower, and two hot tubs (one adjacent the pool, the other in its own private area) all surrounded by lush greenery that gives it a comfortable, private feeling. Location is amazing. There's a nice beach right across the street with a lifeguard tower, park area w/ grass & benches, volleyball court, rinse off area and bathrooms. Just a few minutes' walk south there's an ABC for anything you could need (beach gear, clothes, souvenirs, food, alcohol, mixers tobacco), very good because the hotel gift shop is a bit spare. A 10 minute walk south takes you by numerous bars, restaurants (simple stuff, Denny's is one of the better ones this direction), shops, gear rentals, etc. (even a tattoo parlor if you want a permanent souvenir). Walking 10 or so minutes north brings you to Kalama Beach Park (a large park complete with tennis & basketball courts, baseball diamonds, childrens' play area, etc) and Kihei Kalama Village, a well shaded area full of nicer restaurants and gift shops. My personal favorite was the South Shore Tiki Lounge, a great place with strong drinks, good food and relaxed atmosphere).

Great place!Posted Nov 14, 2013
Cons: Only bad thing i can say is that the air conditioner was a little too loud for me, so bring your earplugs if you are a light sleeper!
This was my first trip to Maui and we stayed 5 nights at the Maui Coast Hotel with no problems! The staff was great, hotel is in the perfect location (across from the beach), tons of free parking, bikes that you can check out for the day, great pool and hot tub. The hotel also had a optional 30 minute seminar/introduction that we attended in the morning. They went over the different excursions and activities on the island. I would recommend to attend- it was helpful to see them point out areas to explore on the map.

Very nice hotel but noisy with open windowPosted Nov 13, 2013
Pros: The hotel was very close to the beach, just cross the street. You have a wonderful view on the sunset. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean.
Cons: Room was to the garden on second floor. If the window was open you could hear a generator or something which was annoying.

Very pleasant stay!Posted Nov 13, 2013
Pros: Near everything and very friendly staff! Provides pool/beach towels
Location: Location is great, beach right across the road, grocery store and restaurants very close by.
Due to an airport issue we arrived later then we expected (after midnight) hotel staff was extremely pleasant! Hotel room was vary spacious and clean, as was the bathroom! There was a fantastic large deep bathtub, which loving baths it was perfect! Hotel was right across from the beach and the hotel provided pool/beach towels. The pool area was a little small but very nice. Everything was near by that you could need. Grocery store was about 5 minutes down the road which was great! Would stay again!
