Hotel close to hotel and beach

Posted Apr 11, 2014
Pros: Proximity to hotel and beach/sea
Cons: Restaurant opened slightly later (was closed to new customers by 9:30pm)
Very quick to go there from airport by taxi. Restaurant closed early so we couldn't dine there on our first evening but the view the next morning was beautiful from the hotel swimming pool area with the beach only 5 meters away. Breakfast was enjoyable. We stayed only 1 night before moving to Kihei for the rest of our stay. We were thinking of moving around Maui by taxi/buses but we ended up renting a car on the 2nd day at a very good deal (due to 2nd hotel being 3/4 mile away from beach/bus stops) so in retrospective we should have drove directly to our final location from the airport as the South-west side of Maui is the best place to reside. We rented our car from Kihei rent-a-car which has no location in the airport but send a shuttle to pick you there and drive you back there from their store.

Disappointing

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Proximity to the airport
Cons: The pool is very small
Location: 5 minutes to the airport
We stayed here for 5 hours (planned) just to have somewhere to swim and shower before our flight back to the mainland left at 10pm. The pool was filled (literally) with loud, splashing local teenagers and completely unusable for a couple adults. The room was sparse but reasonable clean. The air conditioner worked. I guess I expected a little more for the $$

Find a rental place to rent chairs and umbrella.

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: Good price and rooms easy to get to. No noise. Nice sized room.
Location: Only about a mile from the airport, so fast to get to after a long flight in. All types of facilites nearby. Fishing is great. Beaches nearby great
Hotel is a little older, but rooms are clean and they had a smaller flat screen tv. We bought the breakfast vouchers with our reservation and had three choices for breakfast each day. There aren't any chairs or umbrellas to use on beaches, so we recommend renting or buying them and go to several nice beaches in the area. Bike riding 28 miles downhill on the volcano was thrilling.

Nice hotel with ocean view

Posted Apr 4, 2014
Pros: Ocean view, and great staff!
Cons: Update the rooms a little.
We had a WONDERFUL time! The hotel was owned by native Hawaiian people. Hotel was nice and right beside the ocean. It was also within walking distance of restaurants, grocery stores, and a very nice mall. There are fancier hotels to stay in but this one was clean, neat with a very nice and helpful staff. One note to other travelers...the "sunnier" side of the island is the southwest side NOT the northeast side. If weather is a huge factor consult a map before booking!

Just a nice motel

Posted Apr 3, 2014
Don't stay close to the airport. Better accommodation is about 30 to 40 min away. I only stayed because it was cheap. I ended up cutting my trip to this island short because the location wasn't good and I didn't like the surroundings. Spend the extra $ to stay somewhere nicer. Hotel staff was nice and room was clean considering it was just a motel.

The Maui Seaside

Pros: Location
Cons: Mattress quality
Location: Close to many food options and driving to other parts of the island
The hotels central island location made our ability to tour the island easy .

Very quiet hotel. Free parking next door in regional park. Easy to access to Hakeakala NP, Kihei and Lahaina area.
