“Nice place, expensive.”

This is a nice hotel in the upper west side of Maui. Perfect for older couples or families with kids under 10. Good snorkeling, and convenient for surfing Honolua Bay and other decent breaks. Away from the touristy parts of the leeward side. Very expensive, comparable to the Ritz Carlton. The towel card system is annoying and takes away from the Aloha spirit. Otherwise, perfect.

Area recommendations
Honolua Bay and Flemings beach for surfing. Great intermediate surfing. Go to Lahaina for beginner surfing.

“Perfect Maui getaway without pretense”

Gorgeous bay setting, warm Aloha from hotel staff, severything we would want from an island resort without any pretense. The facilities were typical '80s style but well maintained & comfortable. All of our special requests were graciously accommodated. The only weak point was the inconsistent food & service at the Sea House restaurant. When it was good, it was very good, though. Management is aware of the problem, & I would bet that it will be taken care of. Overall, a wonderful experience & one we will look forward to repeating. We would definitely choose the Napili Kai over one of the five star resorts, but would include a couple of dinners at the five star restaurants nearby. All in all a wonderful vacation, for which we will fondly remember the gracious staff.

“napili kai rev”

A bit secluded, which is a-ok if you're on a honeymoon or any other sort of trip that requires not being around a bunch of a rambunctious kids. The Maui Bus is also great for transportation in case you do want to go into Lahaina or grab some groceries or such. The hotel itself is wonderful, staff is super helpful and kind, clean, not outdated, with enough to do at/near the beach that the wife and I are already thinking about our trip back. Really a wonderful place. We had a great time.

“Paradise at its best!”

Great Views; Beautiful Beach; Friendly people; Comfortable Condo; good snorkling; nice pools; plus activities. I have stayed in many different condos and hotels in the Islands and they all had some of the above amenities but not all! I will be back!

“Suggestions for Improvement”

For improvement, please consider more prudent patron placement. Avoid intermingling couples with noisy families with children. Also in the spirit of an adult vacation, you should allow alcohol service poolside. On exterior maintenance, please fix downspouts so that guests can sit outside during rain without dripping noise and splashing.

“A beautiful honeymoon experience”

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon at Napili Kai, and we had a magical experience. The staff was friendly, the grounds immaculate, and the beach was just private enough. We ate several meals at "The Sea House" and never had a bad plate. What really makes this place so special is the staff, always friendly, very helpful, and really making us feel like we were family. We will definitely be back for many years to come!
