Hawaii as we dreamed it would bePosted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: The beach and the sparkling ocean, friendly staff, comfortable vibe.
Cons: Could we get 2 sunsets a day?
Location: Location is a bit off the main road, but there is a free shuttle to close shopping and Maui bus stops right in front. We enjoyed the Kapalua zip line.
Our 5 days at Napili Kai Beach Resort was a dream come true. We celebrated our 40th anniversary there, thinking it was a one-time visit but before we left we vowed to return again soon. Room was steps from the beach. Kitchen was sparkling. Staff at all levels were so considerate and helpful. So many freebies, putting greens and putters, beach towels.Their beach has to be the best on Maui, we saw several neighboring resorts, beaches and they did not compare. Sunsets every night were awesome. When we sent photos to our friends they accused us of sending gallery photos. The atmosphere is laid back, fun, and relaxing. Other guests became new friends. The slack key guitar/ukulele show was worth it. A fun, intimate evening with talented musicians and a graceful hula artist. Did I mention the sunsets? We're planning our return.

A true Hawaiian treasurePosted Jul 26, 2014
If you're into overcrowded, high rise tourist traps this place is not for you but if you enjoy authentic Hawaiian aloha then look no further. The resort is over 50 years old but beautifully maintained. Excellent amenities, perfect for both families and romantic retreats. Super easy access to your own beach. Napili bay is beautiful, perfect for snorkeling, SUP and just playing in the water. A little calm for boogie boarding or surfing though. For me, this is the perfect Hawaiian resort.

Lovely resortPosted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Location, views, comfortable stay
Cons: restaurant staff (some)
Location: We love the resort so much so we don't even venture out too much. But we liked checking out Iao Valley SP.
We loved our stay the last time so we had to come back! It sits on a beautiful calm beach, Napili Beach, and has amazing views! The beach is so nice and great for the family and kids. There are tons of tide pools around to explore. The landscape at the resort is beautiful. They have fun amenities like miniature golf, shuffle board, spa, pools, snack stand... The room is clean and comfortable. If you get the oceanfront rooms, you get a perfect view of ocean, neighboring islands, sunsets - just absolutely amazing!! The staff are very friendly. The on-site restaurant, Sea House, is pretty good too. Although some of the restaurant staff didn't provide a great service but mostly ok.

Excellent all!!!Posted Jun 13, 2014
Words cannot adequately explain the beauty, the tranquility and the kindness found at this resort. It is the best Hawaiian locale I have ever experienced on my numerous Hawaiian adventures.

Cons: Free Mai Tais every night
Location: Great locations…you can do anything you want to do.
Been going to Napili Kai since 1974. Our kids and our grandchildren love the grass and the beach. Great relaxing place……don't tell anyone else about it !

Another fabulous stay at Napili Kai Beach Resort.Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: private lanais, kitchens, beach is walking distance, restaurant on site.
My husband and I were on Lanai and decided to make a 4 day stop at Napili Kai on our way home. It was just what we needed and we enjoyed our stay here even more than the last time. We'll be back next summer with the kids and their families.

Smaller resort. Excellent location. Great staff.Posted Apr 27, 2014
Nice sized property. Not large enough to make It impersonal. Great location. Beautiful beach just steps away from rooms. Wonderful staff, especially the concierge Happy. Very helpful and accommodating.

Fabulous beach hotel full amenitiesPosted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: The beach!
Cons: The mattresses and bed linen. When we checked in, the sheets were very rumpled and bed untidily made. Old mattresses, pillows
Location: Car needed to stay there
Staff extremely helpful and well informed. Hotel is located in small, 2 storey units and has separate small, adjacent swimming pools. Large rooms and bathrooms with lanai. Every request promptly answered. Good for families.

Golden crescent beach, quiet, lushPosted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: It is quiet, clean, close to amenities, and has a small private lanai. It isn't a huge hotel, so doesn't feel busy.
Location: Snorkeling: Honolua Bay, Napili Bay Restaurants: Star Noodle in Lahaina is a MUST Food: Napili Market
This is our second stay at Napili Kai. The beach is a golden crescent of fine sand and the waves are mostly gentle, broken by a coral reef where we saw turtles, fish and once even a small octopus when we snorkelled. The rooms are clean and quiet. The resort is close to restaurants in Lahaina, and a fabulous snorkelling beach just north, Honolua Bay, where the catamarans come daily with boatloads of snorkelers, but which is accessible by car.
