“Would definitely stay here again!”

What I really loved about the Aina Nalu was that it was only one block from stores, restaurants, movies, convenient public transportation, etc. And only two blocks from the ocean. Yet it was quiet and private and easy to relax in and enjoy my surroundings. It provided an ideal (for me) balance of peace and quiet while being extremely convenient to all the fun! I would definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations

Lahaina - best weather, greatest diversity of things to do and see - particularly if you are on foot (as I was). Easy to get around. Only challenge was that Hawaii doesn't "waste" land building sidewalks, so at times, you have to walk in the street. However, other than that, it was spectacular.

“Hidden Gem!”

Nestled in a quiet residential area, the Outrigger Aina Nalu great place in the heart of paradise! Warm greetings throughout our stay from the whole staff. The location was walking distance to most activities, restaurants on Front Street (try the Loko Moko at the Pioneer Inn), and shopping. Rooms were equipped with mini fridge;which really came in handy! I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Maui! Expect to pay about $75 each way to and from the airport.

“Great location, great value”

Stayed there over Thanksgiving, the room was clean and very well appointed. It had washer dryer, kitchen, living room, internet. Great location in the center of Lahaina. We would definitely come back and we can highly recommend this hotel, great value!

“Wonderful Condo, Wonderful Visit”

Wonderful Condo for six people. We really enjoyed our visit. Our daughter got married on 11/11/11 and we stayed here for 10 days. It was pleasant, and in a perfect place near all the beautiful shops and places to eat in LaHaina. Had a wonderful time. Our two youngest children loved the pool and cabanas, even after being at the beach most of the morning! Can't wait to come back!

Must see

Take the small trip down the road to the Sheraton Maui. Right in front is the best snorkeling spot on Maui FOR FREE - its called Blackrock. Kids love it! We saw turtles every day! Kids also enjoyed jumping off of the cliffs there into the water! It was awesome! You can also rent paddleboards from the beach staff for some extra fun or beach cabanas if you don't like the sand - best part for the adults - is right up the path - there's a little bar! Have fun!

“Nice location to Lahaina shops”

Overall the Aina Nalu condos provided a clean room with nice touches like stone work in the showers and two full baths on the two bedroom units. very spacious and comfortable for four people. The size and overall amenities for washing and light meals were a great advantage over the traditional hotel room. Three minor notes of concern - the flat nature of the pillows provided little to no support and made it difficult to be comfortable during sleep. The bathroom location to the walkways allowed for hearing bathroom sounds, especially if you needed to open windows to air out steam from a shower. Additionally, the main room TV was a small tube set which was outdated and didn't function remotely. Aside from these issues, the location was relatively quiet and a great location to shops and food on the main front street in Lahaina. The overall spaciousness of the unit provided ample comfort to move about. The bedrooms however sported updated flat screen TV's, which should have been in the main living room. The individual air conditioners worked great to cool the rooms down quickly.

“Quiet In-Town Alternative to Bustle of Kaanapali”

The big resorts in Kaanapali have great beaches and big crowds. Aina Nalu is in downtown Lahaina and is a quiet, peaceful getaway. When we have stayed at Kaanapali, we were always taking the shuttle into Lahaina anyway. Might as just stay there. Aina Nalu is a ten minute walk from just about anywhere in downtown Kaanapali. Restaurants, beaches, shopping and even churches are right there. The rooms are nice, not spectacular, but the pool is great and it is quiet. We use Aina Nalu as a retreat and as a place to launch our hiking adventures around the island. There are no grand beaches in Lahaina itself, but you can watch a fabulous sunset from boardwalk or from many restaurants on Front Street.

When to go

I have been to Maui in September, when it is very hot and in February where it is a little cooler. It has been sunny 99% of the time. In December, one year, we were treated to a Kona storm which brought 4 inches of rain (at least overnight). It was awesome. Next morning... sunny and warm. You have to love Lahaina.

Getting around

I have actually stayed in Lahaina without a car and just lived like a local. I did not leave town and I did not do much but work. That was great. I have also stayed with a car and driven all over the island, hiking, eating and sightseeing. Just use Lahaina and Aina Nalu as your base. Go out, see the island and then return to peace and quiet, not the madness of a 1000 room condo or hotel.

Dining

Lahaina Pizza (formerly BJ's) is a must at sunset. Enjoy the view from the second story open air restaurant, have a fabulous pizza and beer, and watch the passersby on Front Street below.

“Will definitely recommend to others”

We stayed at Aina Nalu for 2 weeks in August. We had a wonderful time and loved the location of the hotel. After exploring much of the island, we liked being on West Maui and we liked being able to walk up to front street. The hotel grounds were maintained perfectly, the house keeping staff could not have been better, and the two pools were wonderful. The only draw back for us was the Aina Nalu does not have any type of gym/fitness center. Besides that, everything else was wonderful!

“Carrie from OR”

We have stayed at the Aina nalu twice. Both times our only complaint was how early house keepig arrives-8:30 is too early when i am on vacation with kids. Otherwise it is a great place. The kitchen and washer/dryer make traveling with kids seem easy. It is very centrally located but feels secluded when you are on the property. The pools are both great and the staff is very nice.

“Loved It!!!!!!!!!”

This is our second time staying at the Aina Nalu, Superb Customer Service, Friendly People. The outdoor Pool and Jacuzzi was so relaxing and beautiful scenery to look at. The mountains and valleys in between the moonlight was just a beautiful sight. The Aina Nalu sits in a neighborhood and all the residence are so friendly. Great place to stay if you have kids or just with a loved one. HouseKeeping is prompt. Staff is accomodating. Very close to the Maui Strip (7 minute nice walk). Close to many historical sites within walking distance. Very good restaurants within walking distance and a great variety of food. Definitely would stay again!!!! A++++++++++++++++
