Beautiful hotel Grounds, Great cottages near beach

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Location is fabulous, right on Kaanapali beach and just a short drive from anything you want to do or see. The Luau is fabulous!
Cons: Wifi definitely needs fixing. Also door knobs on the bedrooms
Location: Close to Lahaina town which has many shops and restaurants as well as the wharf for boating and whale watching.
I stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage on the grounds of the hotel. The cottage building is a bit dated but was clean and provided us with a kitchen that we used daily. There were a couple of things that were not too good, notably the Wireless internet is barely usable. It is slow and just stops working for no apparent reason (maybe they want you to pay for the Premium Service!). The second big item is the doors to the bedrooms do not have door knobs. this prevents you from closing them firmly and having some privacy. When you have a bunch of people staying in the suite it is a bit disconcerting. The doors have a deadbolt that is used to close them off from the main living dining area so it can be set up as a 1 bedroom or a 2 bedroom but it should also have a door knob. The third item is the safe in the room. An instruction sheet indicated that there would be an additional charge for using it so we did not. At the end of out stay we were told that the safe use was free! Update your instructions to tell people this! The hotel staff are really helpful and courteous.

Nice location with a great beach

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Staff is great. Friendly and very helpful. Stayed in the garden cottages which were a little outdated but had a great location away from the main hotel building and lobby which I like. Garden and landscaping are on point and well maintained. There are some cottages that have been renovated inside and out and look really nice. Wish I had one of those during my stay. Swimming pool was closed for renovation but am sure will look great when done. Even though next to beach, wish it was open. Definitely would stay there again after all the renovations have been completed. Dont let my experience change your mind. It's a great hotel.

Love it here :)

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: They treat returning customers very well.
Cons: It will be great when the renovations are completed.
Location: Whalers Village is a must and the dinner cruise and Elvis Burnin Love show were fantastic!
This is our third stay in three years, I would live here if it was possible :)

Nice Hotel - Amazing Beach!

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Location: Close to the beach. The transportation was easy enough to learn and get around without renting a car and took in many shows!
We recently stayed at this hotel and had a pleasant experience! We will go back again for sure!:) We were upgraded from a Garden Cottage Room to a Tower Room upon arrival. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was amazing, gift shop prices were reasonable and the free shuttle to Whaler's Village was so handy!

renovations

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: The location and room. The front desk personnel were very nice and informative.
Cons: The dining area and food could be improved.
Location: You can snorkel right there or walk over to Black Rock. They have a wonderful footpath for walkers or joggers along the ocean and hotels.
Great room, great location, great view. Unfortunately, they were redoing the outside dining deck and pool. It was noisy during the day and just not a great place to eat. Also, the breakfast buffet was overpriced at 24 dollars. They did have a special for 7 dollars, but not much variety. You had to pay extra for coffee and toast.

Nice Place; Some Maintenance Would Be Due

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: The staff is helpful and friendly.
Cons: Bathroom maintenance. Enlarge the parking lot. Faster WiFi.
Location: Very good beach, clean, all sand, no rocks, no algae. The grass lawn with lounge chairs right by the beach. Two pools if you need them.
It's a solid good hotel for the reasonable price. My wife and I stayed two times, once in the old building, and the other time in the new one. Both rooms had minor problems around the shower, but overall we are very pleased with our stay. Ask for a room on the higher floors for better views.

Always A Pleasure at Royal Lahaina

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: The Royal Lahaina's location is just north of Black Rock and out of the husstle of the Whalers Village area. The tennis facility is great!
Cons: The outdoor patio area where you sit at the bar was closed for construction and limited the access to the main pool.,we should have been informed!
As one of Maui's oldest and most established hotels the Royal Lahaina delivers all you expect from Hawaii. The tower are newer rooms but a bit smaller, the cottages are very spaceous but older and are under a modest remodel.

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Posted Dec 9, 2014
At check in we were told our room was not ready so they put us in another room. They told us we would have to move rooms in the morning. I explained we just travelled 14 hours and dont want to move rooms. After 1 hour of arguing they still would not let me stay in my original room. We travel all the time, this has happened before NEVER have we had to switch rooms. Royal Lahina does not care about their guest. We were only staying 4 days, so switching rooms was so inconvenient Beds were horrible, bathroom had mold. This hotels SUCKS!!!!
