Best hotel with beach access and wonderful grounds

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: We enjoyed the way the resort was all laid out over several acres the most. No over crowding at all. We really hated to leave.
Cons: A few more amenities free of charge like not charging to park rental cars there and some type of breakfast buffet included with stay.
Location: Basically everything you wanted to do was very near or could hop free trolley or city bus for small fee. The Luau was awesome with great food.
Was very pleased with our stay and enjoyed every minute of our time there. Loved the way the resort was all spread out over several acres and wonderful beach!!!!!! Already planning our return next year. Hoping to be able to stay longer the next time?

Pros: Cute cottages
Cons: Could have better restaurant selection
We enjoyed our stay. The cottages were old but quaint and a nice location close to the beach.

Quiet and relaxed!

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: green lush grounds and relaxing atmosphere
Location: Whaler's village within walking distance. Lots of activities available on site. Short drive to downtown Lahaina.
The hotel offered a lot of activities including a luau, but we were also able to completely relax away from the other tourists and crowd in our garden cottage.

Beautiful view of beach and ocean from our room.

Posted Apr 11, 2014
Pros: The room we were in was so nice, and the beach was spectacular!
Cons: was not impressed with the breakfast buffet.
Location: For shopping, you can walk the beach walk to Whalers village, lots of restaurants to chose from. Lahina is close by, lots to explore.
We had been to the island before but never stayed at your resort, so we did not know what to expect. We were getting married on the beach in 1 day, so happy we stayed at your resort! The night we checked in we were extremely tired from traveling. Arriving at 11:00 pm your time, our time back home was 4am. Long day. The manager that was on at night asked if we would like to upgrade our room , which we did and when we saw the view the next morning we were thrilled to be there! We opted for valet parking which was so convienent and the valet guys were the most friendly and the nicest guys ever! We loved the beach that was NOT crowded and the grounds are breathtaking. We will always stay at the Royal Lahina from now on, reasonable price, caring helpful staff, beautiful beach and rooms.

Close to beach and Whalers Village

We had a fantastic 6 nights at The Royal Lahaina and cannot fault the resort. The room was beautiful and extremely clean. The staff were really helpful and the beach in front was perfect for swimming, relaxing and watching the sun set. It is a great place for couples like us or families. We hope to go back one day as my partner proposed on the beach while we were there!

Superb stay in paradise

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: what's not to like, great bed, great shower, great beachfront location, perfect!
Cons: Just because it would have been handy for us while there, it would be good if the hotel had their own stand-up paddleboards to hire
Location: There are plenty of shopping and excellent meal options nearby, by short walk to whalers village or the other resorts, or by car to Lahaina town
The Royal Lahaina was a great hotel and right up our street for holiday accommodation. We aren't big fans of massive resorts with loads and loads of rooms, we tend to prefer smaller hotels or boutique hotels but they often carry a price tag out of our reach! The Royal Lahaina had that smaller feel, partly because a fair bit of their accommodation is in cottages and not the main tower. We were in the main tower. The room was big, the bed was massive and super comfortable. An unexpected bonus was that the room was on the north side of the tower, and out of the sun all day so we didn't need to have the air conditioning on at all, which was great as we don't like having to sleep with air on (although this would be bad if you wanted to sunbathe on your lanai or spend a lot of time in your room). We had an Ocean view room which had a great view of the sunset, it sets right in front of the hotel, with no obstructions unlike when watched from Lahaina itself where the island of Lana'i "gets in the way"! The staff were great and very helpful when we needed them. The resort has a coffee and ice cream shop on site which was great for breakfasts and the odd lunch rather than the full offerings in the restaurant which were too large a portion for us, and quite expensive. There are two small pools, which aren't as good as the other nearby resorts, but the beach is right there so we barely used them anyway. We'd go back, definitely

Nice oceanfront hotel

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: Nice and relaxing stay! Easy access to Kanaapali beach. Trolley to whaler's village stops at the hotel. Clean and comfortable room. Cons: Slow complimentary wireless wifi. I had requested for 2 double-bed room through expedia booking, but the hotel reception said he did not see this particular request in their system. I could only get one bed + a roll-away bed. A bit disappointing. Suggestions: better communication between expedia and hotel

Great Location-Beware of Noise

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Location is great. Rooms are very nice and tidy. The ice cream and small breakfast shop and the sundries store are excellent.
Cons: There needs to be more wait staff in the restaurant. They try to do their best, but it is terribly understaffed, and therefore, the service is slow.
Location: Great snorkeling around Black Rock. Beach walk to Whaler's Village with shopping and restaurants.
Beautiful location, excellent clean rooms. Only issue was that on our final night they had a rock band and party right below our room. The noise was so loud that it vibrated the walls in our room. We called the front desk and were told it would stop in a half hour. When it hadn't stopped an hour later, we called again and were told another half hour. After yet another hour, we went to the front desk and the manger on duty said it would be another half hour and that no one had told us that the music would stop earlier. We were treated like we lied about having complained earlier. Luckily, the law required them to turn off the racket at 10:00 p.m. We were later told that the events coordinator had "put it on the schedule wrong." It would be a great hotel if they don't happen to have any lawn parties while you're there.
