Very helpful staff, a truly Hawaiian hotel/resort.Posted Dec 25, 2014
Cons: Kitchen utilities in the cottage.
Location: Lahaina Village. Kaanapoli Beach and many sight seeing Bays. Whale watching from the hotel, in season.
A family holiday around Christmas. The staff were very friendly and left no question unanswered. The resort is beach front and never seems crowded, even with guests at capacity. Close to all West Maui travel sightseeing, shopping and easy beach walking for miles.

Great stayPosted Dec 24, 2014
Was overall pleased with my stay , it was my 6th time staying here , was a bit disappointed I couldn't get a late checkout ( flight was departing 11 pm ) . I was sad to to see Basil Tomatoes restaurant was gone ( they had an excellent seafood ravioli ) . Great to see they are making some updates to the hotel . I will be back !

Confortable, but needs improvementPosted Dec 24, 2014
Comfortable beds, but shower water leaks into bathroom floor. The breakfast buffet is quite good and affordable. In room internet is unusable: slow and unstable. Do not pay for the premium service, it is as slugush and unreliable as the free in room service. On the other hand it is quite good at the hotel lobby.

Nice HotelPosted Dec 23, 2014
Stayed in the tower and had a very nice ocean view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the local walking trails along the shore. Hotel is not far from an assortment of "tourist" and "local" shops and restaurants. To avoid the cost of parking at the Whaler's shops, just walk over there, either along the entry road or along the beach walk. Note: Although this hotel name is Royal Lahaina, it isn't in Lahaina--it's in Kaanapali on the northern edge of the golf course.

A hotel next to a very good beachPosted Dec 23, 2014
Location: Just go to the beach
This is my overall experience in Maui. Services are not great and every thing is super expensive.

Nice hotel.Better than a 3.5 start.Close to 4Posted Dec 22, 2014
Great place to stay.Good friendly staff. Close to beach.Need a car to get around from there is the only downside. But you need that anywhere in Maui anyway.

Nice hotel, great location on the beachPosted Dec 21, 2014
Very friendly staff, great hotel grounds. The hotel is on a large property so it feels secluded

OK Hotel but there are betterPosted Dec 20, 2014
Pros: General location and staff.
Cons: Cottage suites are in desparate need of updating and internet access needs to be available as promised.
Location: Close to golf, beach and within walking distance to Whalers Village
Booked a cottage room with a king bed. Our room was apparently not available when we arrived, even though we booked several months in advance. Supposedly offered an upgrade to a room overlooking the parking lot on the third floor with a very small double bed. Next day, they found an available cottage suite which was off a busy road and the furthest you get from the beach. The unit looked like it hadn't been updated in 30 years. The outlet in the bathroom was actually dangling off the wall. Unit was supposed to have internet availability but it was difficult to get a connection. Eventually gave up and walked to the lobby to access the wifi when I needed it. At best this is three star hotel. If not for the general location and the staff who were very polite and freindly; I would have left.

This was the 3rd time my husband and I stayed there, the last time we were there was 13 years ago. I chose this place because I know the service is great and you can easily walk to a pool or the beach. It was great to see that after all these years you still get the same great service, comfort, and convenience.
