Nice beach and staff, the rooms need help.

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: Staff, location and food
Cons: Electrical plugs, maybe a UBS plug too.
Location: Plenty of shops and restaurants, great views too
The staff and rooms were great, just the place needs some updates. Electrical plugs not where modern hotels would have them. No dresser to store your clothes. One thing weird, I had floor lamp in front of a wall picture.

Great location, bad service

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Expansive grounds, great location, good beach.
Cons: Front desk service. Pool Service. Food Service.
We tacked on an extra night at the Sheraton to try it out -- we had just come from a week at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas. Grounds are beautiful and location is top notch -- on a bay in a great part of Maui. Service, however, was really bad. At the Westin, towels were plentiful, staff friendly and helpful. At the Sheraton (bizarre given they are both Starwood properties so close to each other), no towels at the pool, bad service at lunch, bad service at check in (promise to call when room comes available that never comes?) etc. I really wanted to like this place but there is no way I'm going back. I've had good experiences at both Westin properties as well as the Ritz down the road and would go to any of those places before considering the Sheraton.

Vacation time!

Posted Apr 14, 2014
We visited Maui for the first time and decided to splurge a little and stay at the Sheraton. It was definitely worth it. The hotel was beautiful and close to the things that were important to us. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a beautiful view of Black Rock and the beach from our room. We would definitely stay at the Sheraton again.

Great location and hotel

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: The location (Black Rock for snorkeling) and beach (not narrow) were the main attraction for us.
Location: Guests can snorkeling at Black Rock, walk along beach path to Whaler's Village, drive north to see the Blowhole and Olivine Pools.
We loved the location of this hotel at Black Rock. Snorkeling off the beach at Black Rock was very convenient and fun. The hotel is very clean. Our room was very quiet; we did not hear the people in room above walking around. The kids loved the pool and beach. Beds were comfortable, and service was great.

A great beach location

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Great Beach location
Cons: They have schedule renovations during the off season this summer.
Location: The small fishing village of Lahaina is down the road and there is lots to due in the resort area as well. But you must check out the local food.
A older hotel that is in the beginning stages of renovation. The rooms are small but nice ocean views and nice TV's beds and bathrooms. One thing they charge for resort fee this includes parking and basic internet. The Beaches were beyond description. this is the best hotel location for snorkeling due to the lava rocks that hotel is built into. We saw lots and lots of sea turtles and they even come up to you in shallow water. Once renovations are done, watch out, this will be a prime place to come and visit. P.s. the staff there are out of this world in service. Mahalo.

The Sheraton is on the best part of the beach.

Fantastic vacation, truly relaxing. I will return. Good snorkeling, soft sand and all of the services you need. The art work is terrific, the music, views, great ambience. This is also a good location and only 45 minutes from the airport. The carpeting in the rooms is a little dated but the room was a very nice size. The prepayment of the room is good because the incidental do add up when you are there.

A wonderful week in paradise.

My husband just got back from spending a week in Maui at the Sheraton. The grounds are beautiful and the room was clean and comfortable. We were able to Move rooms as they had us on the ground floor when we arrived and our view was the tennis courts the second floor was much better. They definitely need an upgrade on their carpeting but there were signs posted that this was going to be upgraded. it was spring break so there were lots of families and people around the pool and snorkeling on the beach. The location is great a short walk to whalers village to eat. Great beach walk to run on and beautiful sunsets. Wonderful vacation.
