Great place in west mauiPosted Oct 15, 2014
Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a one bedroom, kitchen was great and a money saver as we ate breakfast and lunch there. In unit washer/dryer was a great perk. Close to 3 great beaches, golf courses, and plenty of shopping.

Variable qualityPosted Oct 8, 2014
Having stayed in a Gold Villa on a previous occasion we very disappointed with the villa we were given, as the condition was very poor, not clean enough and the air con in the lounge did not work and had been replaced by a portable unit vented through a window with tape. This was neither acceptable or capable of maintaining the temperature desired. Fortunately we were able to be moved to a very nice villa. You have to pay additional charges for using the resort pools, e.t.c was in force on our previous stay, but adding a big cleaning charge is a bit of a joke. Perhaps on our next stay we will be asked to pay for extra leg room or priority check in. On the whole this is a great place, but the spa has been sold, therefore no longer covered by the resort charge and the lovely shop has been sold to ABC stores, modernised and totally lost it's appeal. The fabulous Pineapple Grill is now offering average food at high prices and we only visited once. Mostly disappointing. To soon to say if we will return.

Great resort!Posted Oct 4, 2014
This was our first trip to Maui and the Kapalua Villas offered way more than what we expected. Although it's more out of the way from the hotspots on Maui, Kapalua Villas felt more of a home rather than a hotel and we looked forward to every morning and night of the gorgeous ocean views. Very peaceful, quiet, and lots of different beach access and trails. Also, the Honalua store has all the items you need to stock up on food and drinks for the week without having to spend time/money eating out. We are definitely planning our next Maui stay there.

Full 1 bedroom apt. with 2 TV 2 bath and kitchenPosted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: Large, kitchen, huge private patio with great view
Location: 20 minute drive from former Hawaiian capital city of Luania.
Staying in a room with a full kitchen is a huge plus in Hawaii so you can save some money buying groceries and eating in. Lots of room for everyone.

Perfect place for a family vacationPosted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: We loved the layout, class, and cleanliness and truly enjoyed the workout and spa facility.
Cons: Throughout our entire stay we had other families directly above us when we could clearly see that many other condos were empty and available.
Location: We loved being farther away from the tourist scene but close enough to enjoy it, as well. We snorkeled, swam, ate out, worked out, and relaxed.
We booked our vacation through Expedia and were thrilled with our accommodations. The Kapalua Bay Villas were close to the ocean, had beautiful condos and were perfect for our family to be able to spread about and not feel on top of each other. Everything was within walking distance. The spa and workout facility was state of the art. The relaxing environment was welcomed and we could also easily go into Ka'anapali or Lahaina for more of a nightlife scene as we wanted.

VERY FINE RESORT COMPROMISED BY MANDATORY FEEPosted Jun 14, 2014
Pros: We like the location, the spacious unit design with the bedroom upstairs with its own balcony, and the care for its Hawaiian heritage.
Cons: Just address the necessity for the fee noted above. Otherwise it continues to be well maintained & staff are generally very accommodating.
Location: The Hotel & the Villas are the very last development on Maui's NW coast. The surroundings are rural and incorporate many historic sites.
This was our 3rd or 4th visit to the Villas. At check-in we were told there was a mandatory "Turnover Fee" of $130. Had we opted for daily maid service @ $25/day, one would still be required to pay the Turnover Fee. This is in addition to a $25/day "Resort Fee", which does have some value to the guest with free wi-fi, free local & long distance phone, guest privileges at the Ritz Carlton and discounts also for golf, tennis, & the Spa. This latter fee has been in place for some time & is fairly typical of similar resorts. The mandatory "Turnover" fee, however is theoretically for costs one normally expects to be covered in the rental fee & not tacked on as a required fee, regardless of the condition in which one leaves the unit. At both check -in & check-out I was told it was a new fee, but no staff were able to explain exactly what the fee was for, especially if one had opted for daily maid service & the unit were left basically immaculate, with only a change in linens & re-stocking of the supplies normally provided at resorts of this caliber. The "Turnover Fee" is just a pad to the bottom line of the resort (which is under new management), provides no benefit or value to the guest, and came across to us as a "rip-off", especially for those who normally leave their units in good condition. If the Villas are experiencing undue damage & cleaning expense at turnover, a refundable damage deposit would be more acceptable.

Our Stay at Kapalua VillaPosted May 27, 2014
Pros: Very nice staff and helpful.
Cons: I can't think of a thing.
Location: There are several nearby markets to shop for food. Lots of shops and restaurants on Front Street in Lanai which was about 20 minute drive.
The Villa was furnished well and was very clean. The views from our balcony was breathtaking and exceeded all of our expectations. The resort is very family oriented with nearby beaches and several pools. Great place and we will come again.

"Gold" Fairway Villa, close to beach.Posted May 21, 2014
Very nice 2 master bedroom and master bath condo. Selected the gold package and wasn't disappointed. We had a the golf course Fairway view which was fine. It was a 15 minute walk max to the beach. The entire Kapalua Resort area was nice. The Villas we also very nice. We had 5 adults and 3 little kids. There was plenty of room for all. Just beware that Kapalua tends to have more weather than the other resort areas. We got rained out 3 out of 8 days there.
