Oceanfront suite

Staff very attentive, food relatively pricey but very good, very large lanai. Access to beach a little farther walk than most resorts at this tier, waves consistently bigger than more southern resorts. Overall 10/10

Very high class hotel, but with a price to match

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: Very friendly staff; gave us great service and even some 'freebies'. Great pool and hot tub area. Has a great play yard and kiddie pool.
Cons: It was not clear what the resort fee actually included and I was really confused about what was free and what had a charge.
Location: The hotel is about 20 minutes drive to the tourist hot spot, Lahina. There is not much to do around the hotel except golf and beach.
We got a great deal through Expedia. This is our first 5 star hotel, and it is definitely the best hotel we ever stayed in. The rooms were big and comfortable, the furnishing is neat, lots of wood, lots of island flavor. The bathrooms had granite counters, although one of the two sinks had a stuck stopper, not a big deal. There is no mini-bar for some reason, basically everything in the room, coffee, tea, and water are free (or just included in the daily resort fee). The parking lot is a bit crowded, so if you don't want to pay for valet parking you have to walk about 100 meters. The hotel has a private sandy beach. It's nice, but the waves are very strong and if you are careful, it will throw you on the shore, there are warning signs. The pools and hot tubs are the nicest facility and we used it alot. There are at least 3 restaurant on site, all highly rated, but too expensive for us. We had the buffet breakfast which was really good; however the bill was still more than we expecte, which is par for the course at this hotel. There is a little general store with a deli just next to the hotel which sells awesome hot food. Most of the guest actually eat there unless they intend on dining out. Overall, we had a great stay in a hotel that lived up to its reputation.

Beautiful high end hotel

Posted Dec 9, 2014
The Ritz was gorgeous and the perfect place for a honeymoon. We loved that it was set apart a little from the mass of hotels farther south in kaanapali. The grounds and amenities were all amazing and the entire staff was wonderful. Would definitely stay here again!

Not worth the Money

Stayed there for the first time for our anniversary, and thought it was very nice but they nickel and dime you for everything.. Way over priced for what you get.

Best trained staff ever!

Pulling in they greeting us by name. How did they know it was us? A friend came by to visit and they valet the car and forgot to get a tag. When they came back to get their car they knew them by name even though they were staying at a different hotel. The restaurants on site were phenomenal. The pool staff was also phenomenal.

Hotel is great, location not the best

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Hotel is really nice and service is very good! but it is far away from touristic spots. The hotel's beach has very rough sea, but there is a shuttle to close by beaches good for snorkeling

Beautiful hotel and luxurious

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: Everything was great.
Cons: The staff was not as friendly as other places.
A beautiful hotel where you can see and feel luxurious. It did rain most of the time that I was there and thus I couldn't enjoy the beach because of the non-calm waves. Overall, this is a wonderful hotel.

Pros: Territory, food, view, staff
Location: pretty close to the tourist places Lahaina & Kanapali with local stores, restaurants, etc
I and wife were staying in Ritz Carlton for 4 nights at the end of November. Nice place, very friendly staff, good location.
