Very relaxing- nice property

Cons: need a family hot tub
This is a great hotel in a great location. Only major issue we had is that there is no family hot tub on the property. We were not aware of this in advance. We probably wouldn't stay here again as we have young kids and this is one of our favorite things to do on a trip- sit in the hot tub and enjoy a fancy drink!

Gorgeous Hotel

Posted May 17, 2015
Cons: The whole pool towel thing seem like something "Corporate" came up with, and does not work!
Location: Close to everything. Great shopping center ( Whaler's Village ) is right next door, and some of the best restaurants are just a short walk away.
No matter where you look, this hotel is beautiful ! Waterfalls everywhere and the sound of running water from streams and waterfalls and of course the ocean. It is absolutely magical at night. Although I'm sure it's a rule for all the staff to great you with an "Aloha", every one of them seemed to say it from their heart and with a huge smile on their faces. I would highly recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family!

The perfect resort for our 20th anniversary

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: All the convenience of concierges' knowledge about the island and what activities to book, and then book them for you.
Cons: Without a doubt, the hotel should consider a bed check throughout the resort. Some of the other guests we spoke to agreed.
Location: prime location to beach, shopping, and excursions.Really no need to rent a car here, unless you wanted an exploration day out alone and on your own.
This hotel is beautiful. The pool is simply amazing with so many areas for the family to explore, as well as an adult area for mom and dad. The only thing that was insufficient was the bed itself seemed like it hadn't been replaced in some time. Both sides of the bed had huge indentations from all the wear and tear of high traffic sleeping. Our room without a doubt needed a new mattress. Everything else at this resort made it a wonderful vacation. Our front desk help (Daryl) simply put,..... WAS AWESOME! We can't wait to come back!

What a wonderful Hawaii experience

Posted Apr 30, 2015
Pros: Convenient location w/beach and highway access. The staff were absolutely the best, friendly, professional and made me feel welcome at all times.
Cons: Can you keep it from raining?... didn't think so... besides, it was even beautiful in the rain...thank you
Location: My son went scuba diving two days; we did the zipline (egads); shopping and food services were convenient and varied; the Thursday night Lula was fun.
This was my first trip to Hawaii, and I couldn't have ask for a better reception. Aside from a day of rain that kept me off the Hana Hwy, the days were great. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help me. I had no problem getting extra supplies for my room when needed and the room was always clean and the service super. The concierge services were great, they took their time and the information absolutely met my needs, besides they were cheerful and very welcoming. The front desk was super friendly and efficient, explaining when I needed and at one point, leaving the desk to help me with the business center when I couldn't make printing work. The restaurant service was exceptional with friendly, professional staff, often going out of their way to ensure my party had what was needed and anticipating our needs. The beach service (umbrella's and chairs) were an easy operation with the assistance fast and super friendly. All in all, I couldn't have ask for a nicer stay and will definitely look for Westin Properties whenever I have a need. Thank you all for a great vacation stay!

Not as relaxing as expected; fees & closed slide

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: The pool and gardens are the only reason to pick this hotel over others in the area. The pool is best for tweens-teens (b-ball, v-ball game areas).
Cons: If you're charging $389 for one night in a room + resort fees, I'm insulted by $25 replacement fees for lost room and towel cards. Not returning!
Location: It's on the boardwalk and next door to the mall. Great for general beach lounging and shopping. This hotel is all about enjoying the pool & gardens.
The hotel itself has small, but nice rooms. I'd be impressed in the hotel if I didn't pay $389 + resort fees for one night at this hotel. The rate should have been closer to $250/night given the hassles of: 1) *THE* reason we booked the hotel was the water slide, which closed at ~4:30pm. My son got to go down only twice. 2) It took us awhile to get checked in because the check-in lines are long and there isn't enough self-parking. If you have an early morning flight, beware! We saw cars triple parked in the early morning hours of the self-park lot! Our self-park card didn't work ... more hassle trying to get into the parking lot. 3) Lose your room key? $25 fee. 4) Lose your self-park card? $20 fee. 5) Want pool towels? Here's 4 cards. If you don't have your 4 cards at checkout, that'll be $100. 6) Want to swim past 6pm? Go to the parking lot for the card/towel exchange. 7) They are trying to go "green," but this means putting towels for 2 in a room booked for 4 people, not providing liners for trashcans (good luck if you have diapers - bring your own bags), and skipping bathmats (little kids will need help navigating the slick floors after a shower). Unfortunately this might also mean not bothering to empty the coffee maker in your room or leaving coffee mugs (they leave paper cups for your scalding hot coffee). 8) FYI: no pool area is < 4 feet deep. Since we were there only one night, we made the best of the pool situation and enjoyed a Volcano at the bar.

Overall excellent

Great location on the best beach and near both Whaler's Village and Lahaina. Hotel is clean and staff were great. One thing we wanted to see more is umbrellas by the pool as it was hard to find some shade in the afternoon. Definitely the best hotel in Kaanapali.
