“Great Resort Hotel - Awesome stay”
The hotel is just amazing. Great rooms, warm and helpful staff, impressive amenities, lots of complimentary treats (fruits, sodas, coffee, water, towels, beach apparel, etc...). Just everything you can expect in a high level resort hotel. The only downside we could find concerns to the working hours of the restaurants: they all close around 8. And if you run a little late, you will probably have to sleep hungry.
“Classic Hana”
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hana, which is a unique experience because of the hotel, Hana and its surroundings, and of course the drive to get there. Staying in Hana really gives you something of a sense of the old Hawaii, before everything became homogenized. Our room was not air conditioned, which we knew beforehand, but even though we encountered a couple of those very rare days when the trade winds are not blowing, we were comfortable.
“Uncrowded, relaxing”
If you are looking to get away from chain hotels and the crowds this is the place to go. Beautiful and relaxing.
“The alternative Hawaii”
The staff was very friendly and the service was great. There are far more activites in the area than we anticipated, so plan some extended days. The only down side is the food. The food is very pricey and of only fair quality. There are no real alternatives to eating at the resort, but the beauty and serenity of the surroundings make it all worthwhile.
“Great Escape”
We came to this hotel for our honeymoon. We stayed in one of the Sea Ranch Cottages. It was amazing. Great ocean views and comfortable breeze from the ocean. We had a wonderful time and will definitely go back next time we visit Maui. There were many activities that the hotel provides. The only thing that was a problem was that there were ants here and there in the cottages.
“great place to relax”
quiet relaxing place to spend some time away from everything.
“Hana's Best”
The perfect spot to get away and relax;
“Wow - I can't find words to discribe it!!”
This hotel is the setting you dream about but you never think the dream will come true until you set foot in this place. This is where the true relaxing vacation can happen. It is not for the party side of your personality, it is truly for the relaxing and recharging side of you. The view from our room is only 25% of the experience; its the sounds of the ocean crashing into shore that put my wife and I in a place that can not be duplicated. At least for us we have never been in a place that is as beautiful and tranquil as this. There is a reason it takes a few hours on "The Road to Hana" to get there, but very worth it!
“Should be on everyone's list if relaxation is your goal.”
The Hotel Hana Maui and Honua Spa should be on everyone's list of places to visit at least once in their lifetime. I was born in Hawaii 60 years ago and I remember how it was. The Hotel Hana Maui is a journey back to a time when people were kinder and life's pace was slower, but with all the modern comforts (not to be confused with modern electrical devices like TVs), such as a wonderful spa, swimming pools, hot tubs, fitness center, in room soaking tubs, restaurant/bar, and room service. The Hotel offers complimentary activities and we were able to learn to play the ukulele and to do the hula. Most importantly, the Hawaiian people that staff the Hotel are gracious, genuine and kind. They made us feel welcomed and appreciated. They answered every question and were always ready to help. The price may seem steep for some travelers, but when you compare the usual resort experience that you can have in any other sunny location, the extra cost for this uniquely Hawaiian hotel is worth every dollar. The drive to Hana is an all-day undertaking, but we found many fun adventures along the way, such as a hike through a bamboo forest to a mountain stream, a walk through a tropical arboretum and exploring on a black sand beach with caves. It was almost as if the Hotel was the prize for enduring in the roadtrip. We found total relaxation in Hana and would highly recommend the Hotel Hana Maui and Honua Spa.
“A Magical Spot in Old Hawaii”
No high rises anywhere to spoil the view and all the blessings of a traditional Hawaiian experience. Hana is a gem in the time share, mega hotel vacation world. The serenity and picture perfect location on Hana Bay with lovely nearby beaches and lush foliage all around make it unique. The outstanding service (except in the bar at times) provided by generations of mostly local families is why it is an exceptional hotel. A few things need updating here and there but who cares-- Hana no ka oi.
