“Great Resort Hotel - Awesome stay”
The hotel is just amazing. Great rooms, warm and helpful staff, impressive amenities, lots of complimentary treats (fruits, sodas, coffee, water, towels, beach apparel, etc...). Just everything you can expect in a high level resort hotel. The only downside we could find concerns to the working hours of the restaurants: they all close around 8. And if you run a little late, you will probably have to sleep hungry.
“If you desise friendly, relaxed, 1950's high-end resort pleasure-----come here!”
Our stay was fantastic and my wife and I WILL be bringing our three adult children here next year and, hopefully, for years to come. Sitting by the beautiful infinity pool I could imagine Charlie Chan sitting down next to us to discuss his latest 1930-1940's case. Staying here for three nights instantly shifted us from high-tech California time to serious island time------PERFECT! We then went to where we normally stay, Wailea Grand, and we agreed with the employees of the "Hana Hotel"----------------"Ah, now you're going to the CITY!"
“In the middle of nowhere”
Hana is a place to go if you really want to get away. Beautiful hotel grounds with lots of exotic plants, trees, and views to the ocean. Fantastic beach with big surf-able waves. They will loan you almost anything to make your stay pleasurable, Excellent and friendly service. Free access to steam room, jacuzzi, and free coffee, water, sodas. Great service in a paradise location. Downside---only two restaurants in the entire Hana area. Hana restaurant is bad and expensive- $32 for a mediocre chicken Caesar salad. No fast food--nothing else to eat. Downside---beautiful, but painful 2hr drive to get back to civilization via the famous Hana Highway. See--the waterfall park with a 3mile hike. Avoid the botanical garden and the volcano tubes---waste of time.
“Classic Hana”
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hana, which is a unique experience because of the hotel, Hana and its surroundings, and of course the drive to get there. Staying in Hana really gives you something of a sense of the old Hawaii, before everything became homogenized. Our room was not air conditioned, which we knew beforehand, but even though we encountered a couple of those very rare days when the trade winds are not blowing, we were comfortable.
“A good one for the memory bank”
Would I repeat this trip? In a heartbeat. We had decided to spend three days in Hana before taking off to Kaanapali. The Hotel Hana helped make our trip a fantastic one. Food was yummy; staff - lovely; accommodations - couldn't ask for more.
“Should be on everyone's list if relaxation is your goal.”
The Hotel Hana Maui and Honua Spa should be on everyone's list of places to visit at least once in their lifetime. I was born in Hawaii 60 years ago and I remember how it was. The Hotel Hana Maui is a journey back to a time when people were kinder and life's pace was slower, but with all the modern comforts (not to be confused with modern electrical devices like TVs), such as a wonderful spa, swimming pools, hot tubs, fitness center, in room soaking tubs, restaurant/bar, and room service. The Hotel offers complimentary activities and we were able to learn to play the ukulele and to do the hula. Most importantly, the Hawaiian people that staff the Hotel are gracious, genuine and kind. They made us feel welcomed and appreciated. They answered every question and were always ready to help. The price may seem steep for some travelers, but when you compare the usual resort experience that you can have in any other sunny location, the extra cost for this uniquely Hawaiian hotel is worth every dollar. The drive to Hana is an all-day undertaking, but we found many fun adventures along the way, such as a hike through a bamboo forest to a mountain stream, a walk through a tropical arboretum and exploring on a black sand beach with caves. It was almost as if the Hotel was the prize for enduring in the roadtrip. We found total relaxation in Hana and would highly recommend the Hotel Hana Maui and Honua Spa.
“Peaceful Oasis in Hana”
This hotel blew us away. The grounds were beautiful, the staff was outstandingly attentive, the room/cottage was beautiful and spacious. Nothing felt forced. We were greeted and treated so warmly during our entire visit. We took advantage of the pools, morning yoga, nearby beach, spa, everything and were never disappointed. The only sad thing for us was that the restaurant's dinner menu was pretty expensive so we snacked at the bar instead, which was fine because it was more relaxed and there was live music. Because this hotel is in Hana and Hana is so remote, you cannot help but just relax into the experience. We were so delighted and pampered here that our later hotel/resort near Kaanapali just paled in comparison. If you get a chance, do not pass up the opportunity to spend at least one night in this hotel (but 3 is better). We started our honeymoon here and it was well worth it.
“Hana Maui Hotel”
Amazing hotel, wish we had stayed for 2 nights instead of 1! Big, modern rooms, great facilities, excellent food but a bit expensive. We stayed in the garden junior suite. Cons : Minor problem with ants in the room
“Uncrowded, relaxing”
If you are looking to get away from chain hotels and the crowds this is the place to go. Beautiful and relaxing.
“I found paradise”
Every guide book will tell you that the road to Hana is not about the destination, it's about the ride. They apparently did not stay at the Hotel Hana. Our stay at the hotel Hana was our favorite part of our honeymoon. The service and ammenities are top notch. The scenery is incredible. During our perfect day there we enjoyed a delicious dinner, watched the sunrise, went to yoga class, had breakfast in our oceanside cottage followed by a trip to the spa and a dip in the infiinity pool. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer. We will certainly return!!
