Special Check-In Instructions

Guests arriving between 8 AM and 9 PM must check in at Destination Resorts Hawaii Reception Office, located at Wailea Gateway Center, 34 Wailea Gateway Place, #A102, Wailea, Maui, HI 96753.
Directions from Kahului Airport: From the airport, turn left onto Dairy Rd. Turn left onto Mokulele Hwy, which turns into Piilani Hwy. Follow Piilani Hwy until the road ends, and turn onto Wailea Ike Rd. Go past MonkeyPod Kitchen and turn right onto the driveway of Wailea Gateway Center. Pita Paradise is directly in front. Turn right, then immediately left. The check-in office is on the ground floor at the end of the building.
For after hours check-in from 9 PM to 8 AM daily, guests should check-in at the Wailea Beach Villa’s Security Gate located at 3800 Wailea Alanui Drive, Wailea, HI 96753.

“Fantastic vacation in Hawaii !”

The place was great , large room, complete furniture. 2 nice swiming pool with BBQ place. The hotel was very quite with a nice view on the golf. Less than 5 min to drive to the beach

“We had a marvelous time overall”

We stayed in unit#156 (2b/2b top floor). Our check -in process was a breeze. Staff were very helpful and responded to our needs immediately. The unit was very spacious. I love the size of the bathroom and the walk-in closet. Hate the bed!!! Every morning I wake up with achy back or side (whatever position I happened to be). The bed was so hard and uncomfortable it is impossible to get a goodnight sleep. Even my 10 yr. old couch at home does better than this bed. Who wants to come home to that after your long day at the beach or whatever activities you've been doing all day? Check-out housekeeping could be better in preparation for the new guests. When we arrived, I noticed the couch had a tear and very visible stains from the previous occupants. The box TVs, especially the one in the living room is quite small and outdated with a horrible reception. I wish the owner had provided the unit with beach chairs, umbrellas, and toys (boogie boards, noodles, etc.) like some reviews I've read. Overall, we love staying @ the Wailea Grand Champions. The grounds are clean and beautiful. We can't wait to come back, but not in this unit unless the owner replaces the beds with comfortable ones. I can overlook the other negatives, but not the bed. I hope this review helps other travelers as other reviews helped us in our decision making. It would even help more if other reviewers put the unit# where they've stayed. Mahalo!

Must see

The Road to Hana and the Seven Sacred Pools. It's an amazing experience. It's not for the weak of heart and a queasy stomach, but it's worth the drive.

Dining

Breakfast @ the kihei Caffe. It's good and cheap. The French toasts, Banana Macnut pancakes, and the cinnamon rolls are very good. Try Ululani's Shave Ice in Lahaina - it's quite tasty even for me. (Not a shave ice fan unlike my family)

Family-friendly activities

Pacific Whale Foundation 5 HR Molokini & Turtles Arches Snorkel Cruise. It is quite and experience.

“nice room and location”

You have to drive a few minutes to get to beaches, restaurants, etc., so if you wish to walk to places, it is not the best bet, but otherwise we were very happy with it. Small pools but we went to the ocean. Our unit had old TV's, but they worked fine.

“Good place for families”

“Never again”

I chose this hotel because they said they had a king size bed but our hotel room only had a queen size bed. Worse, the air conditioners are the old noisy units - one in the bedroom and one in the living room. They were both installed under the window. So if you want to close the blinds, the air con would be blow the blinds. How ridiculous!! So we didn't turn on the air con in the bedroom at night... The location of the hotel was a bit far from the beach too...

“Great Condo”

The two bedroom condo was perfect for our family of four. The kitchen had all appliances, dishware, and utensils needed for a home away from home. It was also great to have a waher and dryer in the unit. The living room and decor throughout was comforting. The staff was available to provide information on things to do locally. The location was perfectly close to the beaches and in a quiet golf community. The pool was nice...however the hot tub jets did not.

Area recommendations

South Maui had great beaches, West Maui lots of activity and establishments, East Maui for waterfalls. Do not take Highway 360 from Central Maui to the Blowhole. Mountains do not have guardrails and shoulders (dangerous!), it also turns into a signle lane road with two way traffic...only for local traffic.
