Beautiful condo in a great location

Posted May 19, 2015
Cons: We were not told where to sign in, so we went to the condo office first and then had to drive to another location to sign in.
Location: Great restaurants, beaches, scenery.
We had a wonderful stay at Wailea Grand Champion Condos. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very nicely decorated. There was a washer and dryer available, which was very helpful. There was also beach gear available which we enjoyed using. The unit was so quiet and private that we didn't see or hear a soul! It was a relaxing place to be at the end of a busy day sightseeing or at the beach. The grounds were immaculate and gorgeous. I would highly recommend these accommodations to anyone visiting Maui! 4 visitors from Iowa

Disappointed, Dated and Dirty!

Posted May 3, 2015
Our unit was so dated compared to the unit my parents were staying in. Cleaning service didn't do much but fix the bed sheets. Curtains in bedrooms were so cheap that it didn't give much privacy, which made it very uncomfortable to be in the room. There were ants all over the entryway. There was no central air which made it so noisy at night when the air units were on. There was also another car parked in our assigned parking spot so we had to find a guest parking spot to open up. Not fun! For the amount of money we pay, I expected better. I will not recommend and my family will not be staying here again.

Lovely large second story corner condo.

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Stayed in #142 second floor. Enormous & newly reno'd with 2 air conditioners. Bathrooms were nice & loved the ensuite shower. Partial ocean view from balcony. Wonderful kitchen with all appliances one might need. Overall there was nothing to complain about other than our too short a stay.

Large units far away from the beach

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Very large rooms and clean surroundings
Cons: Quite annoying that you have to put your pin number on getting out of the swimming pool area, especially when you have 2-3 bbq plates in your hands
Location: Big tennis club with multiple courts is right there close to the hotel. The Shops at Wailea is within walking distance (sort of...)
Pros: Kitchen full of utensils (take a bbq brush with you when you go bbq-ing / swimming) Very large rooms partly updated, one bathroom looked very old...it had discolored tiles. Quite clean lanais keeping in mind they're close to all those plants. Cons: Mold on A/C units, musty smell, couch from the living room smelled really bad. If you need a safety box, you need to go to reception which is not that close (5-10 minutes drive) You need to drive to any place, except Wailea Gateway Center and tennis courts Lanais are either facing tennis courts, golf course or parking lot Small swimming pools BBQ grills are within swimming pool area.

Not as lead to believe/overpriced

Posted Mar 19, 2015
I thought I was booked into a luxury condo in Wailea but it turned out to be not as represented in the pictures on the Expedia site. Very outdated decor, 1970 style cabinets no granite, as was shown in the Expedia site pictures. At check in, which was not on site, no sharing of amenities , ie the pool code or where it was located. Was lead to believe there was laundry in the unit but actually was in closet on the balcony and was not told that and spent first night looking for it. Really disappointing as thought it was a high end comples as reflected in the stated original price............got an expedia deal but still overpriced. Had a better time Kiehi where we stayed the previous two weeks. Would not stay there again or recommend to anyone else as condition of units in this property can vary a lot as stated by the check in staff.

A peaceful retreat; an easy drive to the beach

Posted Mar 19, 2015
Pros: The condos are upscale and well-appointed, and the community is quiet. Welcome package (info, coupons, supplies, gift) were a pleasant surprise.
Cons: The bathrooms are a bit outdated, grills are only by the pool, and there are no in-unit safes.
Location: Golf, tennis on-site Close proximity to the Wailea resorts, beaches, dining, and shopping. A bit far to walk to the beach, but a quick drive
While this community of condos is aimed at golfers and tennis enthusiasts, we found it a pleasant destination for us as repeat visitors to Maui when we were looking to extend our stay by several nights. After shopping around, we found Grand Champions to be affordable while offering all the conveniences of staying in a condo, especially considering its proximity to the Wailea resorts. The units are upscale, and Destination Resorts staff and amenities were above our expectations.

Updated condo with beautiful view

Posted Mar 12, 2015
Pros: Very pretty, well-kept grounds ; quick drive to several great beaches and The Shops at Wailea ; very friendly, helpful staff ; easy parking.
Upstairs condo unit #142 has wonderful distant views of the ocean and sunsets. The interior is updated with soft green granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, carpeting and pretty bamboo cabinetry. The furnishings are minimal, but in a pleasing way - very clean and crisp ; the vaulted ceiling adds to the spacious feel. There are plenty of windows for views and louvered lower windows for air circulation, so you may not need the wall air conditioning units. The master shower is spacious with a nice shower head. Improvements we would suggest are: a firmer bed with a bottom sheet that fits snugly (sheet is too large so you wake up to a wrinkled mess underneath you) ; hooks by the front door or bedroom to hang items like a purse, umbrella, beach bag) ; basic condiments in the kitchen (we rent condos and homes because we like to cook, and this is the first one that didn't even have salt and pepper. Be prepared to buy baggies, plastic wrap, spices, napkins (paper towels were provided)) ; kitchen utensils are very sparse -- there was no broiler pan for the oven or cookie sheet). One negative about the location is that it borders a tennis club. Hearing the tennis matches was fine but the practice court with the ball machine is directly across from the patio, so you in the morning and evening you hear, quite clearly, constant grunting and ball slamming of a player -- rather ruins a quiet morning coffee or evening happpy hour. Otherwise it is very peaceful with birds chirping.
